hey raymand, you cant blame the people. they are feeling cheated and they see the white man enjoying the gifts of their land while they are suffering. the government should make life easier for this people, but jinstead neglet them. and the people feel the only way out is to get directly at the white man, and when they do, things do happen quickly.

i guess like they always say, the rich wanna get richer, while they want the poor to get poorer. these men know how things should be done, but i guess they are more interested in enriching themselves. bad, cry

rhema, tanx a lot. thats the best thing i have heard. our producers just shurn out movies without bothering about quality. do you know the number of movies that are released weekly? i am sure most movies here are not even edited before being released. if we stop buying, they would stop producing nonsense.

ok coco29, lets try english.   hmmm,  eko ile (the city of lagos). the city of lagos had always fascinated me since i was young. the rush, the hustle, the bustle, the chaos, everything about the city. many things that i thought of, that would amaze a lot of people. i grew up in the country side and was used to restfulness, peace, open spaces and roaming animals   . in lagos, that 1 na mirage. 1st thing that amazed me in lag was the size of the rats. in my village these are bush rats. even cats scarce, because the rats fit challenge them in strength and in size. next thing were the mosquitos. have you noticed that after you flit (spray), the mosquitos come back. that is because they are smart and they adapt. ask me and i'll tell you how. next were the humans in lagos, the super humans. you have to be a super human to live and survive in lagos. its only in lagos i know if you dying and a million people passd you by, hardly would 1 person look at you. aint that crazy? the idiom, be your brothers keeper, hardly works in lagos. in lagos, its either you are scared of people or people are scared of you. i could tell you lots of crazy things about this city, but i wana hear your views. lets have them people. hope thats english enough coco29. thanks

Niger Delta Crisis: Which Way Forward?

Everyday we hear of the crisis in the niger delta embarassed . we hear of abductions and sabotage et all.

but really what is the cause of this fracas?

The niger deltans argue that they produce the bulk of the wealth of the nation, from proceeds of crude oil, which is gotten from their land. They argue that government does not compensate them for their loses which occur from the prospects of this crude by the expatriates. They argue that their farm lands have been destroyed, their waters polluted by oil spillage, that they have no infrastrctures etc cry .

They have dialogued with govt lots of times without their demands being met. They feel so aggrieved, that they, feel taking up arms is the only way out since govt has refused to see their plight.

Hmmmm. my people, do you feel this is the way out, or are there other ways out for the Niger Deltans?

we really need serious prayers. the funny thing is in nigerian politics, we see the same faces that have always been there in power. may Gpd deliver us from their clutch.

Raymand, d truth they say hurts. this is not a matter of criticism. even d film makers are not to blame. we the consumers are to blame cause we stil buy the nonsense they make. why wont they make such movies when we buy it. wat i am saying is a little more effort br put into film making in nigeria. for yankee, if anything go wrong, director go shout, "CCUUUUUTTTTTT!!!!!!!", then them go retake the scene. for 9ja, whisai, na abeg dey rough am go.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria And Old School Politicians And Administrators by walaty(op): 2:26pm On Sep 05, 2006
thanks for ur reply chidichris. i do see reason in what you say. government offices in nigeria have become private affairs. those elected into offices to represent usonly go there to enrich themselves and are unwilling to leave office. most are even ready to kill and to die in office. these people sweet tongue to get into office and when they get there, they just turn vampires.
what should we do to make the nation better and to move it forward?
PoliticsNigeria And Old School Politicians And Administrators by walaty(op): 1:48pm On Sep 05, 2006
it amazes me when i look at government in developed countries and notice that those in government and those in administration are young, able and agile men. while in nigeria we have always witnessed fat, old n pot bellied old men undecided who have been in government for a long time without any meaningful contribution to the progress of the nation sad .
recently, there was a convention with some nigerian and foreign ministers in europe. the eurpean young ministers came with laptops while our old papa ministers went with nothing angry . the foreign ministers had to even help the nigerian ministers get some data online from their laptops grin .
i believe nigeria has gotten to a stage where fresh minds should be allowed to administer the affairs of the country sad . we have many young and agile administrators with fresh and geniune ideas to move the country forward wink .
but what is it with nigeria and old politicians and administrators huh , who u can remember their faces from way back in nigeria administration?
TV/MoviesNollywood: Truly After Hollywood? by walaty(op): 1:19pm On Sep 05, 2006
we have all heard of nollywood being next after hollywood,  how true can this be?
when i see films from bollywood (india) and from china and japan, i wonder how come nollywood is next after hollywood. hollywood isn't even the 1st. hollywood is just popular due to box office hits.
at times when i see what is dished out of nollywood, i wonder how people still buy and watch these movies. movies in nigeria make you wonder if really there are directors.
for instance, take a scene frm a movie where two people where whispering, the whisperers were farther away from the screen, and those they were whispering about were between the screen and them. if i the audience can hear the people whispering, why can't those they are whispering about, who are in between me and them hear?
at times when you see the costumes in nollywood, you just get an headache. have you seen the costume of a supposed police or military officer in a nigerian movie  shocked ?
i could go on and on, but what do you all think of nollywood? is there any good reason for the hype?
