bossladyMo: Someone here got a positive assessment for Arch draftsperson. They could have felt your duties related more to Architect, and not Arch draftsperson...since you said your duties are more technical. Okay. May be I will nominate Architect then. |

bossladyMo: That's a negative assessment...you can't apply for your visa with that.
Didn't you check the duties of your nominated occupation as detailed on abs, to see if it is the same as your work experience?
You can reassess for a different occupation that closelymatches your work experience job description.
What is your nominated occupation? Bossladymo. The occupation Is Architectural draftperson. I read all the duties and they are closely related infact my duties are even more technical than the listed ones. Im just surprised with the negative result! The Case officer kept asking for more documents which I duly supplied. I cant see any occupation related to my profession except the one I went for. |

Yes! And I received the outcome of my assessment from VETASSESS It says 1. "my degree is recognised by VETASSESS for the purpose of awarding points for qualification Under the GSM points test as comparable to educational level AQF Bachelor degree" 2. Skilled Employment: The tasks undertaken are not closely related to the ANZSCO tasks for the nominated occupation. Please whats the next step from here? |

Well, I sent the hard copy, and others I know also sent a hard copy. Ok. I will post it today to be on a safer side.Thank you |

Thank you for the response. I spoke with their representative on phone and she made me to realize there is no need to send a hard copy of my certificate as they have the uploaded soft copy already. I hope I'm still on point. Though I read on the web to post my cert. Who's confused here? Just trying to dot my I's and cross my tees. bossladyMo: It states clearly on their website that degree certificates to be posted and transcript to be sent by the issuing institution
There is no way around it. My school accepted to include a certified copy of my cert, along with the transcript...all I did was give them a copy, so I didn't have to send seperately. |

bossladyMo: Call them to ask if they have received your transcript.
My application was finalised 3 months after my lodged date...even though mu transcript got there 2months after the lodged date.
Hope you also sent your university certificate? As Nigerian degree certificates are to be posted, not scanned and uploaded online.
You will receive a mail stating your application has been completed. The status will changed from in progress, to completed. Within 48hrs afterwards, the status will change to either positive or negative.
You can download the pdf copy online. However, the hardcopy will me posted to you within 5 working days (if you paid for registered mail)...don't know how long it takes for normal post. Hi, I read your response. I also applied for assessment by VETASSESS, and I have uploaded all my credentials. I sent my Transcript from school officially. However I didn't send my degree certificates as I have uploaded a certified copy of it. Would you advise me to still send a hard copy of my University degree as the status still reads in progress or the certified soft copy will suffice for positive assessment? |

UBKtech: NT is perhaps the most difficult state to get sponsorship from, the reason for this is simply because a lot of people in the past have abuse NT's SS program and deprived NT of the benefits of the skilled migration program. They used NT's SS to get their visa but never set foot on NT soil or went AWOL a few days or months after arriving. Nowadays, you have to 'demonstrate a commitment to living and working in NT or have been living and working in NT for a specified period of time' to be successful with NT SS.
Having your occupation on their list is one thing, but you have to find a way to convince them of your commitment to NT before submitting your SS application. I suggest you even apply to one of the schools in NT and include their offer letter in your application package to them, just to show them that your interest in NT does not end with SS. Ok. That's noted.
Most people do not want to live in NT because it is the least developed and most remote of all the Australian states. In my short while of being here, I have seen at least FOUR 9ja professionals, three of them citizens relocate to Victoria from NT. I am not saying this to discourage you, rather to draw your attention to one factor that may hold the key to the success or otherwise of your SS application and prepare you for the task ahead.
Best of luck with your application!! |

OK. Thanks for the information. Information is power. Where do I get info for the SS. So I can start my preparation now? quote author=Cypha8 post=27170196] Abeg be better than me oh... As you can see the end of my current timeline No sir, I did not have enough years of work experience to claim points for experience. Next step after positive assessment is to seek state sponsorship (SS). For now, you should qualify for Northern Territory SS. Tasmania I doubt but you can check their requirements if you meet them. These are the only two states you are eligible for at the moment. You can start preparing for NT SS application while waiting for your assessment resuly. Good luck...[/quote] |

Pls where are you clicking relevant or non relevant under employment. I have registered for assesment with Vetasses , I cant remeber wether I came across it or not. I am also claiming points in job employment?. bellong: I don't think your MBA alone can give you a positive skill assessment. What is your first degree?
If the assessing body assess the experience to be relevant to the chosen occupation, s/he can tick relevant but will not be awarded point if it is less than 3 years.
The system automatically award you points if you claim 3years upward and will not award point if it is less. |

Honestly, I never wanted to shortchange myself but I realized I can get positive assessment easily if I nominate Architectural draftperson than Architect. Degree here might not equate to theirs. bellong: Walmark,
Why are you shortchanging yourself. An architectural draftsman is lower than your degree.
Why didn't you apply to be assessed as an architect? |

Thanks a bunch. So straight to the point. All of them are noted...will be back here to share the high bands by His grace. #nowpreparinghard bossladyMo: The reading section can be quite tricky. If they say NOT MORE THAN 2/3 WORDS, don't use more. If they say use words from the essay, USE WORDS FROM THE ESSAY, don't paraphrase. The True or False or Not Given can also be tricky. Don't imply what is not written in the essay. Don't assume. Answer T/F/NG according to what is written in the essay, what the answer is in the essay, and not what you think or feel the answer shoulf be.
For the writing, you have to practice well. There are some set formats to follow. Also, don't write below the required number of words, and don't over-use words from the question itself. INTRODUCTION - DISCUSSION 1 - DISCUSSION 2 - CONCLUSION...that is the skeleton fod the essay. Also, for the section 1 essay, know the appropriate tone of writing and closing for the formal letter, semi-formal and informal letter.
For the speaking.....well that's based on how good your vocabulary is. Good eye-contact is a plus.
For the listening...be attentive, dazall! |
