Ademat7:They will need to apply for a H1b visa for you from US, which is almost impossible to get this year, and you must be a genius for them to need you before the visA is approved. Don't make the mistake of applying gpr a b1 b2 visa because you will get denied. |
Had dinner at a Chinese restaurant for 6 euro a meeal. Waitress laughed at my watery Italian and I challenged her to count in English. We are even ![]()

We were too tired to endure an 8hr bus ride to Rome, so I booked a 1 night room on booking. Com and voila! A 2 bedroom apartment shows up for 30 euros all to myself I quickly booked it and took the underground metro there for 1.50 euros. Have a look around the place. I wish I was staying longer

The galleria led us out to Leonardo da Vinci museum, where there is a large statue of him. There is currently and exhibition going on there and a couple of other fringe events.

We walked through the Galleria Vittorio de Emmanuelle II. The Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II is one of the world's oldest shopping malls. Housed within a four-story double arcade in central Milan, the Galleria is named after Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. It was designed in 1861 and built by Giuseppe Mengoni between 1865 and 1877.

After lunch, I walked around the city, followed the signs to the Milan Duomo (Cathedral). According to Wikipedia Milan Cathedral is the cathedral church of Milan, Italy. Dedicated to St Mary of the Nativity (Santa Maria Nascente), it is the seat of the Archbishop of Milan, currently Cardinal Angelo Scola. The Gothic cathedral took nearly six centuries to complete. It is the second largest church in Italy after St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and the third in the world. Was a long walk and a very hot day. Felt hotter than Lagos. Was quite dehydrated by the time we got there and baby got cranky. We ran out of water. Had to buy one tiny bottle for 1 euro. Mschwwww. Anyways, the Duomo was one word... Magnificento!

Came from Como to Milan yesterday. It was a 1hr train ride. I had plans to head to Rome but got carried away by Milan's magnificence. They train conductor quarreled with a passenger, it was so funny. We stopped at cardona and looked around. Was famished, entered the nearest Bistro for lunch.

We return to Como after about 30 mins in the mall, my pocket was ringing alarm!!! Soon we are back at the border. Crossing like a bawse! , only not on foot

Roamed around in the mall for a bit, bought myself a Michael Kors bag for 69 Swiss Francs. *feeling smug*. Also bought an outfit for the lil lady from RalphLauren children.

I planned to rest today... but I got itchy feet. I don't think I got enough out of Switzerland... and someone told me Switzerland is a stone throw away from Como... The bus came in via a different route... through the mountains, and I got to understand there's another border just close by. Just in case you are wondering: "Como sits at the southern end of the western branch of Lake Como in northern Italy. It's the most important town on the lake, with a long history, lively streets and a busy waterfront. Como has excellent transport connections, being just half an hour from Milan by train and only a few miles from Italy's border with Switzerland. Ferries and buses run up and down the lake's shores, and little seaplanes take off from the waters close to town. A funicular climbs up the hillside to offer panoramic views. Como isn't the most atmospheric or relaxing place to stay on the lake, but it is a practical overnight base and there's plenty to do. Even if you are simply passing through, it is worth taking a short time to see the town centre" For the fun of it, we drove to Switzerland so I could see the border. Crazy isn't it? There's a shopping mall called Fox Town at Centri Commerciale.

I slept like someone that went to the farm. All that trekking made my body hurt! Ok, let me rewind a bit to the bus ride into Italy. Like Kexorcist said Switzerland is very scenic! The landscape is breathtaking and a must see for everyone. The bus took us through the mountains, in tunnels, and I think sometimes up the mountains because altitudes made my ears pop a bit. The mountains peak into the clouds with beautiful waterfalls from different sides of the mountains. I was drawn to tears admiring the splendour! Gosh! I couldn't get really good pictures because it was really foggy and cloudy, and the bus was in motion. I'm going to upload more pictures from the camera. BRB

Ralphlauren:I feed her adult food when we are on the move, also have these baby meals in glass jars. They serve as lunch or dinner and she's also bottle fed. I wash the bottles before I sleep at night. There's hot water everywhere so it's easy for me to sanitize the bottles overnight. My baby is very special, we've been on the move since she was 7 days old, as long as she's seeing people and the buggy keeps moving, she doesn't fuss. But in a worse case scenario, I strap her to my back with a wrapper. Yesterday, the wrapper served the good purpose of a blanket when we got lost at the lake. We kukuma joined oyinbos and laid down on the grass under the shades! She had a swell time crawling around. It hurt me that I could not put her on swings and horse rides, she's still very young ![]()

Saw a bridge on Lake Como, took it walked for 15 mins and realised it stops in the middle of the lake!

I'm lost! Uim still putting together the road trip story! But right now I'm lost! Currently in Como, north of Milan. I set out in search of the city centre and found myself in front of the Lake I'm trying to retrace my steps back to my lodge but I really have to share the scenery

After picking up the 2nd batch of passengers from the Frankfurt Hbf, we set off in the direction of Manneheim. My people, this bus was stopping at every town o, to pick passengers. Before driving 3km, the bus would detour from the highway into towns, all the way to the bus station. Just when I was seething inwardly, the bus stopped at a truck stop and everyone got down for a bathroom break! (se na like this we go de dey ). That is how we kept making stops all the way through Germany. My baby was a good sport, she ended up making friends with a lot of people on the bus, as well as other kids who apparently have never seen a black baby before . She had a seat beside me, and as anticipated, she was not hysterical. I stopped counting the stops after the 6th stop, I guess I got what I bargained for. After like forever traveling Danfo style through Germany we finally arrive at the Swiss border...

So, I'm back! Like I said earlier, I spent just a day in Frankfurt and took the One Bus to Milan, just because it was the cheapest. The bus was supposed to leave at 8:15am, but it did not come till 9:45am. Before then, it took me over 10 mins to find the Station, which was supposedly 3 mins from the hotel where we passed the night. The night was actually horrible, I could not sleep because some latino night club outside my window kept blaring music all night! I woke up feeling like a zombie! I left the hotel at 7:15am just to be at the bus station in good time. Nobody seemed to understand english, or pretended not to. It two policemen who pointed me in the right direction and when I got there, I came across a lot of buses, heading in various directions. Frankfurt to Kiev, Albania, Prague, etc. I could not find the One Bus! It began to rain and then I got frantic, going from bus to bus asking for anyone going to Italia. Still, everyone waved me aside once I opened my mouth to speak english. I stood in the rain with my baby in a stroller, wondering if I had not missed the bus due to language barrier. Luckily I had my wrapper (used for strapping her on my back) which I covered her stroller with. At 8:20, some dude from a nearby shop asked me for my ticket which I showed him. He then said I was in the right station but I had to wait at an intersection that the bus comes late most times. There's also a dude there waiting for the bus. So I head over to the intersection and come across the bus conductor who confirmed the bus was on its way. Finally, at 9:45am, the bus came and we boarded. For a reason I cannot understand, the bus took us around Frankfurt in a circle and came back to the bus station to pick up more passengers! That was the beginning of this journey that took us through the clouds and tunnels under mountains. Stay tuned!

Kexorcist:I'm currently undergoing a language block in my head, keep confusing german for hausa and italian for yoruba! Didn't spend too long in Germany though, thinking I might have to return to visit my cousin later in the week. Soon as I cross off Venice, Rome and Milan off my list. I've never felt this wild and free in my life! ![]() |
