xray2:OMG! I'm flattered! Won't be a bad idea to do this again in 2017... with a group. My baby is 16 months old now and a whirlwind! Wowz! I cant believe how much she has changed, but she still loves to travel. We were in Chicago from Sept to Nov and she took her first steps the moment we stepped out of the airport, was so emotional! So holler me if you think touring Europe again is a fab idea! It's not too early to start planning. I will post visa requirements soon so those interested can start putting together paperwork... or do I start a new thread? originalsly omoharry smithsydny Nepro ekharry GenBuhari Wellendowed Simababe winnielle abduldope abimbawealth DArey00 mexxy1 Chukxie seguno2 fredyoooooo ligxy |
its just like enugu city is a city in Enugu state . New York city is the largest city in New York state and Albany is the capital of New York state . other cities in New York state are : Rochester , Buffalo,Syracuse,Niagara falls.God bless America. This is beautiful! |
kenniez26:$54 dollars, yellow taxi to JFK is a flat rate. If I were you, I'd take the NYC airporter (airport shuttle) to Penn station for about $18 to catch the Amtrak. Try to book online in advance. In my case I paid $371 for 2 adults, 3 kids and 2 infants so I'm thinking it should be around $70+ but then, I booked the night before the trip so you may get it cheaper if you book earlier. Safe trip and happy travels |
Originalsly:Mr Originalsly . well noted. I will keep you in the loop for my next tour in April 2017. My husband is working on his visa so the next tour (not babysitting clients) will be open for both sexes and families. Just keep your calendar open. |
progress69:Abi oooo |
Then the problem with antibiotics is that they will kill the normal lactobacili flora and give candida room to flourish and frustrate you more. And if u have bacteria vaginosis and use anti fungi topical cream, you will kill the Candida that should grown and help u balance out the bacteria and the case gets worse. That is why you hear toilet infection is not going or keeps recurring. So my sisters that are complaining of itching that won't go away, see a doctor, get a lab referral for MCs (microscopy, culture and sensitivity) of vaginal swab or urine sample. Microscopy is to check for live or juvenile forms of parasites (eg trichomonas), culture is to breed the exact bacteria or fungi that is worrying you (ecoli, group b strep, staph or candida etc) and there is this magical thing they call sensitivity. Its my favourite Once u culture the sample and put in the sensitivity rods ( which contains the different common antibiotics), the lab scientist will return to see the exact antibiotic that will work for you condition so that you won't swallow septrin when it is augumentin that will work for you. The lab will write to the doctor that antibiotic that worked so that he will prescribe it then you take to the pharmacist that will dispense it. Within a few days you are as good as new. But make sure you finish your dosage if not, the bacteria may become resistant and then we are back to square one. So just manage and see a doctor. Its better that suffering in silence. |
progress69:Lol, finally |
progress69:Gbam... But let's be sincere, how many people can afford vaginal swab and wait for 3 days culture before result comes out? By then d itching for don send you go yaba left. Personally, the last time (minus pregnancy) I had an itch was when I was a teenager, before I learnt proper hygiene. That itching eh! Never again. God! Panties must be cotton, hand washing, tissue after using the bathroom, wiping front to back and life has been blissful. But in pregnancy, hormones will scatter everything, if u like practice from now till forever. Na you and canesten till delivery. Lol |
Precial419:See a doctor and practice good toilet hygiene. |
progress69:Calm down, read my post and edit ur post The female urethra is not connected to the vagina unlike d male urethra. It is entirely external orifice ABOVE the vagina UTI does not enter through the vagina.
|
progress69:Me sef follow you tire. The vj is even too far away for the water to reach. Too many things to pass, public hair, labia major a, labia minora before the water will reach there, if not, why do you have to use a stick to insert canesten treatment into the vj? Abi them open the place yakata for the water to just swim inside. It is still boils down to hygiene. If we practice good hygiene there will be no talk of toilet infection. Some women even wipe wrongly. If you wipe back to front you will catch infection from the anus. Instead you wipe front to back to protect the veejay from unwanted elements |
Jacko1:Gbam |
progress69:you sed women mistake UTI and STD for toilet infection. I'm agreeing with you and expandin further for knowledge sake. So that they will no longer make the same mistake. UTI is infection of the Urethra not the vagina, vagina doesn't lead to kidneys but the Urethra does. It shorter in women which makes them more prone to UTI than men that's why I shared my experience with UTI that led to kidney infection. STDs are passed through the vagina, even if they present with frequent urination as in PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). |
lanchy:Aaaages ago! In no longer work in a lab but I miss the days I did. And it was a university teaching hospital lab so you can imagine the things we saw. My first week there, I caught diarrhea! ![]() |
progress69:UTI is another kettle of fish. UTI infects the urethra and possibly the kidneys, not the vagina. Symptoms of UTI is painful and frequent urination. When I was 6 mths preg I had pyleonephritis, UTI that had gotten to my kidneys. The infection triggered premature labour... If not for God eh! It would have been another story. I was admitted, placed on antibiotics upon antibiotics for days and was drinking bottles and bottles of water to flush the kidneys, in addition to iv fluids. It was a race against time. UTI can be such a disaster if not treated early. |
So you don't agree that splashes of water from inside the toilet can introduce bacteria in the vagina? Mild soap to wash inside the vagina abi? [/qluote] If toilet water splashed on u, ur vagina is not so accessible. The water has to pass thru public hair, then labia before it gets into ur vagina. What u shd do is wash ur labia with mild soap and clean water (not inside d vagina, that is douching and it can worsen d problem) then pat dry with tissue. Why u itch after toilet water touches u is that you don't clean up. You just pull up ur panties and wet them which provides s moisture Candida needs to become a nuisance. The toilet didn't infect you. Your panties did. |
I am not a doctor. I actually studied parasitology. Here is the summary of this thread in my own "expertise" Many things can give u d itch. But most likely not from the toilet. Op mentioned 3 common infections Candida is not an sti or uti or toilet infection. U get candidaisis when the natural balance is tipped between the lactobacili (bacteria) and candida (fungus) who live in d vagina in an uneasy harmony. If you take antibiotics u will kill most of d lactobacili and then candida will proliferate and then u will itch like mad. This is candidiasis. Failing to wipe after peeing is also a bug culprit. Pls wipe with clean tissue paper cos if pee remains on ur panties, candida is yeast and it proliferate in such moist conditions. This is why they call it toilet infection. Cos y'all ladies dont wipe after peeing. Bacterial vaginosis is the reverse when the lactobacili is higher than candida. It can also be very annoying. If u poop and fail to wipe properly, u will get ecoli or staph or strep b bacteria into ur kitten which can upset ur balance. Hence the so called toilet infection. So babes, no be toilet infect you. What the heck, its not even an sti. It's just poor hygiene. So you need to step up the cleanliness. Also hormonal imbalance can mess up d vaginal environment. Especially pregnancy. For your info, the deadly stis don't even give signs. I mean them gono and chlamydia. They just breed silently and destroy stuff. If d woman is lucky she may present with PID and when they test, they see she has chronic gonorrhea or xhlamydia that never gave signs. It's only men that start showing symptoms. What about HPV that leads to cervical cancer? There's a lot of sht out there to worry about that do not itch. My qualification? BSc Parasitology with lab experience in medical microbiology. So all these big names we are calling, we played with them at one point in time. Also, how come no one has pointed out the Staph is not an STD? Staph is a normal flora of the human body and when we practice poor hygiene it can get into d vagina and become a nuisance? I stand to be corrected though |
Waladade4luv:She's pregnant |
I hope client's wife achieved her goal of having her baby there.Hmmm she should have done proper consultation before heading there, quite risky well it opens a new vista of opportunity for you.[/qulote] Oh yes she did. We thank God cos she had some complications she wasn't aware of and the moment we stepped into the Hosp, she was admitted and induced. |
Originalsly:Lol, I will answer o! I got fed up at a point especially with their plans, but I had a goal, and I'm glad I achieved it. The story is long, I don't think I will be going on these tasks personally henceforth so I can focus on tourism and corporate travels and outsource these duties. Still doing the paperwork though. |
Originalsly:Story is looooonng! Client's wife was preg, went to have the babybin US. Met brick walls, client had returned to 9ja. Wifey was stranded and had preg complications, coupled with having the other kids with her. I was called upon for 1 mission, help her when she went to have the baby to assist with the other kids and bring them all home safely. Now you get the drift. It had never been my call from the get go. They had their plans, which i had to work with, which wasn't foolproof. I eventually had to manage expectations. At the end, all is well that ends well. |
TWoods:Azzin, I had no idea about this.Travelling is Education itself! Not all who wander are lost. Lolz! |
DisGuy:Well, not really. My Europe tour was meticulously planned. In this case, my clients were in charge and they usually took last minute decisions. It got me exasperated sometimes, but customer is king all the time. I'm so glad to be home. |
My people! Biko forgive me. Somehow I was unable to log on to Boingo hotspot in JFK airport, and I was so dog tired. I don't think I have been this exhausted in a long time. It's mission accomplished for me, as I have delivered my clients home safely with peace and joy, feeling like a super hero! It kind of got too dark for us to take more pictures as we proceeded through New York all the way to Penn Station, but bottomline is, except it is an urgent business trip, no more air travel within US for me! The Amtrak trains have won me over! After 19 hours, I was sad that the journey had to end. So we came off at Penn Station and took a yellow taxi to JFK. The driver, an arab guy was just the best. He even made sure we had all our travel documents ready before he drove us and gave us his number just in case we are in New York again. We were flying Arik and we had 30kg baggage allowance for 10 bags. Isn't arik bae? My husband was at MMIA waiting for us and whisked us out of Lagos to our new home in the East where he has been pampering us since we returned. I've not had a moment rest, as usual, my desk is packed full with client requests and paperwork to treat. Someday, this my shakara has to end and I will have to hire staff. I'm putting up a new post about adventure in Missouri in a bit. Seems like an awesome destination for family holidays. |
So we waited for about 30 mins in Albany NY, where the Boston bound cars separated and headed in a different direction. We head towards NY along the Hudson River
|
Just passed through Schenectady, NY. Pretty soon, the train will separate and a portion will go towards Boston, while we continue to New York City
|
Rural New York... Between Rochester and Seracruse
|
uruba23:Lolz! You are too funny |
But I am not understanding something... We have just reached Buffalo New York... and we still have 11 hours to ride on the train.... hian!
|
We passed through Erie Pennsylvania... Train station reminded me of Lokoja or something like that! Lolz
|
The train leg room is awesome!!!

SO I'm starting this thread 7 hours into the journey because we started out at 9:30pm and I hit the sack as soon as we boarded. After lamenting about a bad experience I had in Southside Chicago and my hasty exit from that zone, the journey in Chicago has come to an end and we are heading home to Nigeria. So we did the maths and explored our options, getting to New York from Chicago would cost us $223 per person on SouthWest Airlines (which we paid $94 each for going to Chicago by the way), which was somewhat disappointing. So, we settled for the Megabus. Just as we were about to pay, we found out that it went for $65 per person, including the infants in our party and only 1 luggage was allowed per person. I usually avoid train rides due to an earlier conception that they are expensive... but something made me check the Amtrak train. Lo and behold, it cost us $371 for 7 people (adults full price, kids half price, infants free) I hit the pay button without thinking twice, before I saw that luggage allowance was 2 bags per person with additional 2 carry on items! Sweet deal yer! And this was a last minute buy, we booked the night before the trip, so I'm thinking it would have been cheaper if we made up our mind earlier. Ok, so I am starting the update from Erie Pennsylvania, mostly pictures as there is really nothing to write about! |
