CelebritiesRe: 2face To Appear On Mo’nique Show by wandyvirus(m): 7:27pm On Feb 07, 2011

Listen the interview he had with Brown Sugar of South Africa and forever shut up.
http://www.justcurious.co.za/2010/10/we-chat-to-african-superstar-2face/
Thanks for this Mel. Innocent Idibia has become a phenomenon in contemporary African music. After the FAT GIRLZ movie a lot of americans wanted to know who did the african queen sound track.
Now i have heard 2face interviewed severally and not in one place did he show that he does not have a command of the English language. The guy is the new Fela; his songs are beginning to come true.Songs like "e be like say","Go down there" and "Oh papa" are just apt now.I was at his show last year in Lagos and i saw the documentary on him.His English had no hint of someone who cannot speak the language well.I bet that if Fela was alive today most of you critics of anything good in Nigeria will say the same about him.The guy is helping our image BIG time.Go read his interview in the arise magazine, then get the Soundcity blast and see what other artiste say about him.M.I will always refer to him as a living legend. He makes lyrics so deep so profound and yet his character and easygoing ways belies the wisdom in him.I was listening to "Only Me"the other day and one 60-year-old-plus man asked me who sang the song.I responded that it was a guy called 2face.The man paused and said the boy is very wise.
We should learn to avoid this mentality that English is it.And like a lot of people here have commented lets ask ourselves this one question: what have i been able to do to affect The world and make so much impact over a 10 year span? I am not anywhere close to him but i am working hard. Now i am not into entertainment, but it just shows the effect he has on a lot of us.
Go hear "Excuse me sister" written by him(most of his songs are) and tell me if that comes across to you like someone who cannot speak, write or converse in English. When is the show please all the serious people in the house?

@wandyvirus sorry i dint look at your post first, it seems like your the only one who gets were im coming from, everything has an orgin
and the talk about ancient isreal, well back in those days the earth wasnt as divided as it is now, im speaking of pangea, the plates underthe earth werent as separated as the are now forming oceans and seas, so ancientt isreal was attached to ancient egypt, it was all around that area,

we all know that life started in africa, and much of everything did too, notice that every civilization worshipped the sun, ancient egyptians, the mayas and incas in southamerica, the native americans in north america. those ideas where replaced by christianity by jesus,

thats right christianity says that jesus if the light of our world right,

well isnt the sun the light of our worldhuh
he is merely a european version of the sun god,

in the bible notice when they crucified him and he died the earth went into darkness

well if there is no sun what do you get??
doesnt take a masters degree to figure that out

OBJ did not spend $16bn.That was the total budget for the NIPP projects.20% of that was paid to contractors shortly before OBJ left the scene.Yaradua came and reversed all of that. The Elumelu chap in the House and his counter-thieves in the senate played on the intelligence of Nigeria's by hyping the TOTAL amount of the project which was to span three years as if that was what was spent in the last 8 months of OBJ's presidency. If Yaradua  had not listened to the likes of Turia and the former AG under Yaradua (whose name i have vowed never to call or write again) we will be well on our way out of darkness now.
GEJ just returned to the OBJ IPP script and we are already seeing the results. I have had constant electricity in the last 3 weeks and it can only get better.
Please let us open our eyes and speak the truth.the monies for the IPP that was not disbursed is still with the CBN.The contractors came out with prove  that shows that the Yaradua govt frustrated them. have we forgotten so soon how the "panel" will visit sites late in the evening and show us on AIT that the contractors are not working.Have we forgotten that the contractors asked that they help the Govt construct a particular bridge(i can't remember which now) so that they can transport the heavy turbines that is needed for the IPP to work and the Govt refused? Can we recall the fact that most of the equipment suffered demurrage    at the ports during the former AG's rule? Lets not give in to slanderers who now turned around ad asked the contractors for bribes. The IPP is on course now and we can all see the results. If you are in Lagos have you noticed the small transformer per four or five houses?
ComputersRe: Which Is The Best Internet Connection In Nigeria? by wandyvirus(m): 2:42pm On Jan 28, 2011
This is a good thread and i am glad it made the front pages.I have been involved with broadband access in the last 11 years and i can say that i have become some sort of authority on the subject.
Like most people here have said the quality of service is dependent on a lot of factors and while you enjoy good service from a provider in some part of the same local govt area, some other person does not.
We will have to manage what we have now till something better comes up.I will get to the reasons why this is so shortly, before i do so however let me state that i have Starcomms,Swift,Cobranet,KKon,Zain,Etisalat,MTN,IPNX in my office as i type and i have tested a range of them across Lagos and will tell you that none is better than the other or rather the advantages are only slightly better than the other depending on the quality of coverage the operator has in that given area.
I have asked for Mobitel"s service(BTW my office is in Surulere) and they have been here to test the service. It won't be ready here in Surulere till March. They have coverage in Aguda up till Bode Thomas but not the Adeniran Ogunsanya end.
I agree with some post here that Swift Customer service is nothing to write home about. However Cobranet's customer service is the worst of it's kind. I was in their office to ask for a higher speed plan and to know how long it will take. The staff asked me to "go and use a cyber cafe now then call us when we are ready" what! I asked to speak to a superior officer and i was taken by an apologetic woman to the "oga" Lebanese so he asked 'is there any problem' in that characteristic accent. i responded that i wanted to change my plan, and then he turned to me right in the middle of my sentence and said "I no talking to to You, I talking to her".Otio! In Nigeria! I still tried to reason with him and he kept on insisting that he has nothing to discuss with me! teh apologetic woman was speechless but you could see that she was intimidated as she responded that there was no problem.I left and moved to another ISP.
Now why is it that we can't get good service in Nigeria? What is wrong with the ISP's even after the transatlantic cables have arrived?
There are several factors but i always like to group them into three and make them as simplistic as possible
1.Infrastructure
2.Economy
3.Technology
Infrastructure
Any nation with a sense of development will not have neglected it's wire-line communications network as we had in the case of nitel. If we still had twisted-copper-to-the-home we will be talking about ISPs riding on those wire's to provide first of all dial-up service(which actually was available in all over the country about 20 years ago) then progressively DSL or ADSL as the case may be may be this year we will be talking about Fiber-to-the-Home(FTTH) not as a novelty but as a next step in the evolution of broadband services.
Power is and remains another key infrastructural constraint for without electricity(which we call power in Nigeria) nothing works.Or how else will you power you CO or POP such that electrical pulses are sent to the right places along the lines and get to the subscriber? Or would an operator have to power each CO along the lines of his DSL or Fiber routes? How will the DSL Modems work without electricity? This perennial problem dealt a big blow to wire-line services  of any sort in Nigeria. These days worldwide Technology is shifting towards the wireless space and the IEEE and the other bodies Wi-Fi alliance,3GPP and the LTE working group has championed notable standards in the wireless networking field. We will look at these standards in technology.
I will take a break here and return to complete this. Please bear with me.

Hey Sunky,  oh my bad, whats your name? I think you have taken this issue too personally. The guy was only giving them his 2 cent, perhaps if they try it, it just might bring them back since they have tried their best with their good lyrics and everything but yet they fail. So take a glass of water and don't beat yourself up too much over another people's matter. Oh,  except I was correct was the name "Sunky"
Alright,OK. I just don't get it when people say party jamz are it.That stuff dragged us back so badly. Thanks
Basics007:
All of this comin from your 1st post on NL! U specifically took up a new id in order to pour vituperation on some1 who was merely expressin his opinion. U really must be Sunky as some1 said
Na not my first post. You are right but no i am not skunky.I was ayowande but the ID kept failing. No i was not vituperating or anything like that.I don't know your orientation at all but it rankles me to no end when i meet the AY.com kind of people.Nigerian music evolved and got to a stage where you always expected it to get better(from the african queen era,the busybody era) only to see it slide down so badly that foreign sounds got a ground here.I am not against party Jams, for crying out loud "enter the place" and "implication" are serious party jamz! P-SQ will always do party jamz.So the point is don't drag styl plus down that lane. They veered from what they are know for to the so called "party jamz"("imagine" that was their first attempt and that mentality worked against them just like Mikel Obi's defensive mentality is robbing him of his attacking talents) Djinee is still here and making waves,GT is still here,Asa is still here,Dare(now darey) is still here.Stay true to your calling and don't play to the gallery.Do you thing and be true to it.Banky is still here.So many minds have commented here and i respect all of them.
@X-factoria:Please accept my Sincere apology.
Their problem is that they have refused to change their style and do more of party jams. I do not think it is so much of the location thing even though that tells a bit. No matter the location of the artists, albums like Dj Zeez's 4kasibe will sell from anywhere.

They tried to change a bit by doing "Imagine dat" and that brought them back to people's consciousness but they seem unable to keep up with dat. Naija music lovers like danceable songs, party jams and all. Any good melodious sound with nonsense lyrics in this category will sell. Take a look at X-Project's "Sisi Ologe" and check out Tuface's rejuvenation in his new album with "Implication" and all. They are fast party-jam like. That is the same reason D-Banj and Mo-hits have remained in people's consciousness. They sing all kind of genres as long as they make people shake body and rock.

Styl Plus has got talents - their good voices and cool videos but it doesn't stop at that. I think they need to strive to meet the expectation of the market and maybe first understand the market better. Naija market is for hip-pop and not so much for R & B.
Party Jamz? How come we all fell for Asa's "Asha" and anticipated her sophomore album? What party 'Jamz' did we hear in "jailer" and "Binbanke"? Did Dare's debut album hit the parties? Yet he is a force to reckon with in this industry.Should i mention 2face who's neo-African genre mixed with western contemporary beats constantly gets us bopping our heads? It's either that or we are caught reflecting on his deep sublime lyrics.Should i mention M.I who has redefined rap and taken the art to a whole new level? His raps are not necessarily "party jams",yet they rock parties and they get a 60yr-old man saying 'this guy is making a lot of sense'(for the lines in craze).
For people like you who think the gibberish doled out on us for close to 2yrs by Terry G and co was music, then i wonder how you got out of school and what your influences are.The reason any one will be talking about Style Plus here is,as many intelligent minds here agree, they made GOOD music and it is a surprise why they are not on the scene now that the AY.com,Timaya,Terry G nonsense has cleared. Please go read a lot of the post here and you'll see what you can learn from people who know what good music is.Stop this it-must-be-a-party-jam-to-be-good nonsense.Get a brain and comment like someone whose parents spent money on educating.I am learning from the posts here.Nonsense!
