Yoruba rapper Reminisce has just nabbed an endorsement deal with local herb drink Orijin made by Guinness Nigeria.

The award winning rapper made this known on his Instagram page where he posted a picture of him signing the Orijin deal with the caption “They say i be local rapper….but you know,I am the Orijinal of Orijinals.I appreciate my culture,understand my roots and create my own Orijinal beat. This is Reminsice’s third endorsement. Last year he inked deals with Airtel and Samsung. The rapper is prepping for the release of his third album Baba Hafusa.

THERE was pandemonium last weekend in Benin City, Edo State, after a middle aged man (name withheld) lost his life following a fight with a lady, who chopped off his private part.

The incident which occurred around Isihor area of the city shocked the residents, considering the way and manner the heated argument between the lady and the deceased resulted to bloodshed.

It was learned that the lady ran her SUV car into the deceased Honda SUV, a development which led to a shouting bout. The deceased, who was said to be in the company of his brother, reportedly slapped the woman several times which led to the fracas.

An eyewitness informed Vanguard: “After the slap, the woman went straight to the man’s trousers and bite his private off and spat it on the tarred road to our greatest shock.”

It was also gathered that the man gave up the ghost while he was being rushed to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH.

Contacted, the Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Joseph Edoigiawerie, said the command was yet to be briefed on the incident.

Artistes are determined to make the year 2015 one of the best years for music and Konvict Music star Akon has major plans for the year.

In a Recent Interview with Vanguard, Popular Yoruba actress, Moji Olaiya, open up on walking out of her marriage.

Can you quit acting for marriage?
I can never quit acting for any marriage. I have said it in many interviews that even when I re-marry, the man will have to love me and my profession.

How have you been coping after separation from your husband?
A woman needs a man in her life. There are things a man would do that you cannot do as a woman but I have no regret leaving my marriage.

Why did you say you have no regrets?
I have no regret leaving my marriage but I regret not being under a man’s roof. It is not respectable in this part of the world. But I try to comport myself even as a divorced woman and as a typical Yoruba woman and to avoid scandal. I have a daughter to protect and cater for.

What was the cause of your failed marriage?
The marriage was not working so I had to quit. My partner went as far as abusing me so I had to leave to protect myself and my daughter.

You mean domestic violence?
Yes, domestic violence is just the right word.

Any man in the picture at present?
I am in a relationship but I am yet to be legally separated from my husband.

Were you legally married?
Yes. So at the right time I will reveal who the man is. I need somebody beside me.

Is your new film, Monsurat, born out of your marital experience?
Our mothers tell us that being over protective of one’s husband does more harm than good. Monsurat is a story of a jealous woman who became a tigress in protecting her marriage. She went diabolical and this affected her husband’s business. Later on her husband found solace in the arms of another woman and that was how she lost all. It is a story meant to educate our women to keep their space in the hearts of their men.

A female student in Kenya has revealed that she has infected a total of 324 men with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).

The HIV positive girl, who attends the Kabarak University in Nakuru, is said to have been infected by a man at a party.
The unidentified 19-year old is allegedly aiming to infect a total of 2000 men in revenge.

A volunteer British nurse who contracted Ebola was in a “critical” condition Sunday, as the new UN mission chief on the disease insisted that ending the deadliest-ever outbreak was within reach.

Nurse Pauline Cafferkey’s health has taken a turn for the worse in recent days, the Royal Free Hospital in London said in a statement.

“The condition of Pauline Cafferkey has gradually deteriorated over the past two days and is now critical,” the Royal Free Hospital said in a statement.

On Wednesday, doctors had said the 39-year-old Scot, who had been working with the charity Save the Children in Sierra Leone, was sitting up in bed, reading and talking to staff from inside her isolation tent in the hospital.

They said Cafferkey had agreed to be treated with blood plasma from an Ebola survivor, containing virus-fighting antibodies, and also take an experimental anti-viral drug.

Cafferkey was volunteering at a British-built treatment centre in Kerry Town, not far from Sierra Leone’s capital Freetown, when she contracted the deadly virus.

British Prime Minister David Cameron told BBC television that Ebola was “certainly the thing uppermost in my mind today with Pauline Cafferkey in hospital, and all of us are thinking of her and her family.

“And also how incredibly brave these people are, not only doctors and nurses from our NHS (National Health Service) but also people from our armed forces who have been working in west Africa in very difficult conditions,” he added.

Expert microbiologist Professor Hugh Pennington said Cafferkey would need luck to survive the deadly virus, which experts still do not fully understand.

“The plasma is probably her best chance of treatment,” he said of the nurse, who was diagnosed in Glasgow on December 29 after flying home.

Medical professionals have been particularly affected by the worst Ebola outbreak on record. Out of 678 healthcare workers known to have contracted the virus, 382 have died.

Residents fleeing Malari village in Borno State said on Saturday that the Boko Haram insurgents abducted 40 citizens on New Year’s eve.

TheAgence France-Pressereports that the terrorists stormed Malari around 8pm and took away people, all males, aged between 10 and 23, into Sambisa Forest.

The news of the abductions came only days later, after residents who fled the village arrived in Maiduguri, the state capital, late on Friday.

“They came in pick-up trucks armed with guns and gathered all the men in the village outside the home of the village chief where they preached to us before singling out 40 of our boys and taking them away,” Bulama Muhammad toldAFP.

Malari lies 20 kilometres from the Sambisa forest and close to the town of Gwoza, which Boko Haram captured in June declaring it as part of their caliphate.

“My two sons and three nephews were among those taken away by the Boko Haram gunmen and we believe they are going to use them as conscripts,” Muhammad said.

There was no immediate comment on the incident from the military in Maiduguri.
Residents of Malari and nearby villages fled, fearing further attacks and abductions.

One of the people who fled from a nearby village of Mulgwi, Alaramma Babagoni, said, “When we heard of the kidnap of 40 boys in Malari by Boko Haram, we decided to leave because we could be the next target. Boko Haram has been abducting young men from villages in the area because we are close to their stronghold in Sambisa forest.”

Boko Haram has recently been seizing young men during raids on villages to use as foot soldiers in its uprising aimed at establishing an Islamic state in northern Nigeria, residents said.

On Tuesday, suspected Boko Haram gunmen launched a deadly raid on Kautikari village near Chibok, torched several buildings and killed as many as 15 people, according to witnesses.

The more than 200 kidnapped schoolgirls are still being held by the insurgents since April 2014. Meanwhile, the parents of girls have requested for assistance from United Nations in rescuing the girls.

A former Director of Legal Service for the Nigerian Army, Retired Col. Bello Fadile has joined more people coming out against former President Olusegun Obasanjo over claims in his controversial book, My Watch.

The book allegedly contains lies by its author, the former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Col. Fadile said he and others will ensure Obasanjo is returned to prison, where he should now die.
