Travel / Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Warburg: 11:53pm On Apr 03, 2017
My People, I greet you.

I like to put out my thoughts and situation with regards to this Canada visa matter, hoping to get a bit of feedback on the issue.

I am applying for a Temp resident i.e visitor visa, for a professional conference in Vancouver in May ending 2017. I have got an invite letter and intend to apply with my company as a sponsor. Please, what other documents can I put in or for proof, or how to I show very strong ties to NG i.e reasons to return back home?.

See below the list of documents I currently have and perceived areas of weakness. Abeg how do I make these better?

Documents
-Invitation Letter
-3 months Bank Statements, Personal & Company
-CAC and all other corporate documents
-Introduction Letter from a staff.
-Employment Letter (As I have a job on the side)
-3 months Bank Statements showing Salary payments from employment.
-Property Documents, Deed of Assignment, Architectural drawings
-Share certificates etc
-Motor Vehicle documents
-Individual Tax Card
-Passports Old and New

My problem is that I think I don't have enough ties to Nigeria. Noted that they "US and Canada", tend to give visas more easily if you have children here and a spouse. Please, any better ideas to show stronger ties without been married?

Also the time frame concern: the scheduled event is for the last week of May 2017, How do I stand with regards to average processing times from your experiences, if I apply by mid of April 2017?

Thank you for the response

Car Talk / Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Warburg: 6:44am On Dec 25, 2016
Merry Xmas People,

I have a problem with my honda accord 2008 V6. Wondering if you guys have experienced such, and any advice or solution.

The drive D indicator keeps blinking, VSA and caution indicators are on.

The car really jerks on entering/changing gears(AFT automatic transmission) I have changed the fluid, but the problem still remains.

My mechanic suggested I change the gear switch, but is really the cause? please what could be the problem here, and Advice/solution please?

Also, the car drinks fuel like a b****, Ajah to mainland just once takes more than a 1/4 of my fuel tank, i.e 3k naira. Please advice as this is absurd.

I also hear a faint rattling noise on the highway any time the accelerator is pressed. What could be the cause?

Thanks in advance for the comments

Hello All,

I would like some information on switching study programs at Canadian universities.

I have a masters in general business, but did a biochemistry bachelors degree (Bsc), for my undergrad years. i want to move on to Canada for either a specialist masters ( lets say property investments or marketing) or a Phd in marketing, but was advised to go for a masters in biochemistry because the visa officers may reject my application for not been similar to my undergrad degree. Is this reasoning right? Does the course choice affect the visa officers decsion? Does it have to be similar to the undergrad Bsc degree.

Also for those already in Canada? Can one easy switch courses after landing in Canada? For example I apply for a masters in biochemistry, pause my studies and change to a masters or Phd in business management.

Your thoughts and recommendations are highly appreciated
Thank you.

Hi Guys,

Reading thru this forum, lots of good info here. Thanks all, for the bank of knowlegde. i am just starting out the canadian visa process, planing for sep 2013, I want to ask some noob questions here, my apologies please.

How long does it take now (Nov 2012) , for the entire process? ( am expecting there would be a hike in applications since uk closed up)
I travel a lot, do I have to submit my passport, for that long to get the visa? If not then what's the detailed step of the process?
What are the full documents would be required to surely get the study visa or TRV?
Are agents recommended or self application?

Thank you
