Which would you go for? I would go with the Santafe. Users of this crossovers can also share their experiences. Reviewers are welcome. Bench warmer comments accepted. 'Kazeems' comment not allowed. Before you say that V6 is not good. 1. Hyundai Santafe 2. Honda CRV 3. Ford Escape 4. Chevrolet Equinox 5. Toyota Rav4

Conner44: What is this again? Why always complaining of those cars getting robbed? Is it unusual? It's something that is bound to happen giving the condition of our citizenry
Ask anybody who car to buy as first car. . . Ask which is easy to maintain . . . Ask which consumes lowest fuel ever. ..
Nigerians like Toyota, so why won't the robbers like it better? Don't you know Nigerian car thieves don't like to export their market?
Till we accept to try other alternative brands more often I see that those cars will still be hot cake to those crooks. That's why I can never buy any of them no matter what.
That, plus they look too 'just there' for my taste. I never fantasized about any camry or corolla brand in my life. I prefer a golf4 to camry 2.2 and golf 5 to spider 07-11. If the corolla isn't XRS I won't even see it if I'm standing in front of it (no matter the year). Toyota is not even trying with the way they are designing the new models. hmmm. A Toyota hater. I hate them too but have one in my garage. |

If there is one reason why a Toyota is annoying. It's because of its frequent theft via 'tapping' of its part or the whole car itself. All in the name of second hand value, easy to maintain. What of peace of mind? Maybe insurance will cover sha. But do we have a good insurance system in this country? Maybe in between and reliable brands like Hyundai or Kia is the next step o. |

lawsta: convert miles to kilometres by just multiplying the miles by 1.6 100 miles = 100*1.6= 160kilometres. OR mentally add the half of the mileage to the real mileage e.g 100 + 50 = 150 to get the estimate if it is kilometres just divided it by 2\3 to get a nearby estimate e.g 150 kilometers is 100 miles, 90 kilo is 60 mile, 30 kilo is 20 miles, 200 kilo is is 140 mile omo see maths |

Nice one bro kaeforum: That is not correct, if you re buying a car made in 1998 it it will have a mileage above 100,000km, av seen some cotonou 2004 4 runners bought with mileage of over 200,000km and used till they reach 450,000km and they run smooth no issues now thats maintenance at work.
If you want to avoid high mileage i suggest you buy a car made in 2011- date knw that some dealers actually have tools to reduce a vehicles mileage to trick buyers like you.
I assess a vehicles based on its physical attributes dont rely on the odometer for your assessment.
I laugh when I hear some folks on this forum say they bought a vehicle made in 1997 with low mileage of 25,000km. |

Show me a Volkswagen/Audi car from 2010 and older used in Nigeria without a fuel pump issue. Why are they always prone to such? Whereas Benz and bmw which is also prone but not rampant.

TruthisOut: Yeah I saw the regular maintenance you are giving the car but seriously, the mileage is directly proportional to use (with more wears and tears experienced as with all mechanical systems). Regular maintenance can help prolong the lifespan - it is a fact. I hope you can also agree with me that the lesser the mileage, the more life there is in the car. 100% agree with your last statement. Regular maintenance also involves changing replaceable worn out parts. |
Car Talk › Re: I Intend To Take My Car Mileage To 500,000km by watchworldpro(op): 1:29pm On Jul 07, 2016 |
TruthisOut: Why will one buy a high mileage car? The higher the mileage, the more maintenance that will be required and more money to be spent at the mechanics. My car had a mileage of 30,000 miles when I bought it, I have used it for 2 years now and no major maintenance except for the quarterly servicing like changing oil, filters and tyre pressure checks and change - all preventive maintenance. I disagree bro. My car has not visited any Mechanic in past two years and will still hit the 500,000km target I set for myself. Maybe u need to go through my first post to have an idea of my maintenance history. Or wud u consider servicing as going to the mechanic? . |

Originalsly: If the mileage is in miles the temperature would be in Farenheit. The temperature is 32C...which means the mileage reading is metric...Km Modified after reading Kingreign comment. Miles cause larger reading is in MPH. @Op.... not a mechanic...but if your car is that well professionally maintained your battery light should not be on. Suggests to me that you have battery or alternator problem. Car looks fine !...but damn...you wash every day?.. may soon need paint job. The battery light is on becos I just turned on the dash but didn't turn on the ignition after which I snapped almost immediately. My battery and alternator is fine till date. Took that pics in march |

jasinto: Hello, the 297,000 you have on your instrument cluster is in miles and not km. Your reading in kilometer is 475k+ kilometers. Secondly achieving 500k miles as you wish will take you atleast 6years which am sure you will not the tolerance with the car for that long. You might wanna upgrade.
Servicing of transmission most times is not necessary but if you actually need to service your gear. You must use recommended oil rating of Toyota T-IV grade dependent on the year of your vehicle (Toyota Matrix 2005), any other transmission fluid will mess up your transmission.
If you don't use any kazeem for your maintenance, then who does it for you. Do you do DIY? I agree with you bro. Need to modify my post. It's miles not km |

I presently use a Toyota Matrix 2005 with a mileage of precisely 297,000km. Good Maintenance history. High grade synthetic oil used for the engine every four months. Gear Servicing done once a year. So also differential servicing. Fuel level has 'never' gone below half. Tyre pressure recommendation as stated on the door side is always adhered to and checked every week. Interior is very clean. Car is washed everyday with liquid Carwash (ABRO)......etc..................and I don't use any 'kazeem' for repairs.....I stay very close to my office (10mins Drive). But I do a lot of highway on weekends. I am not a car guru but just believe in prompt maintenance.
Anyone in the house with a high mileage car? Pls share your experience. Proceed with this format:
- Car Make, Model and Year - Mileage - Usage type ( City or Highway ) - All other experience and maintenance history -Any advice for high mileage car usage
