I am not comparing Nigeria and South Africa, or Nigeria and 10 other countries. I am only comparing Nigeria and Kenya. With these two, I say Kenya is in the lead. You do not seem to disagree. In fact, you seem to say that 11 countries (SA + 10 others) could be leading Nigeria as well. MrPrsdent: |
MrPrsdent: You ask for the impossible. There is not a study that proves Nigeria is in the lead or behind - we must use your minds to judge from what we see and hear. From both, I say that Kenya leads Nigeria for the three reasons I listed. Why do you think the opposite? MrPrsdent: |
There is a big difference between online business opportunities in Nigeria and Kenya. Nigeria could and should be beating Kenya in Internet businesses, but its not. Both Kenya and Nigeria have many problems. Yet there are 3 main reasons why Kenya is pulling ahead of Nigeria, even though its a much smaller country: The 3 Reasons Why Kenya is Beating Nigeria in Internet Business Opportunities http://www.ictworks.org/news/2010/03/15/3-reasons-kenya-beating-nigeria-internet This should be a call for Nigeria to wake up. To stop bickering and focus on the future - the Internet. Wayan |

Odd - I get email notifications that people ave replied to this post, but I don't see any replies so far. Any way to fix this? |
I'm going to be flying around Africa over the next month, but going through Lagos a number of times (hello Virgin Nigeria!) so I'm wondering what a decent yet affordable hotel would be near to the airport. Affordable - less than 1,500N Close - less than 45min away Bonus - Internet access at the hotel Do you have any suggestions? And do you have contact numbers/emails for those suggestions? |
Is multilinks to best way to get Internet in general, or just for my trip? |
So I see all this talk about different connectivity options in Nigeria, from GSM, GRPS, WiFi, to ADSL, and many promise high speeds. But the last time I wandered across Nigeria, I got 28K at most hotels and 56K only once - when at the headquarters of an ISP. So what are real connection speeds? And what's the best method to obtain those speeds? Also, a related question. I'm coming back to Nigeria for work the first week in August. What's the best choice for someone only in Abuja for 10 days? Oh and I work for a poor NGO, so no high-dollar options - I can't afford them. |
Does anyone know if LASAL HOTEL or HOTEL ROYALE IBIS are still in business? I've been trying to contact them but I can't find any phone numbers that work. Call me crazy, but I want to make a reservation there, so I don't show up to a full hotel late in the night. |
