Contrary to claims by embattled Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, on the floor of the House accusing SaharaReporters of fake news and alleged that the N17m cleaning services monthly allocation was misreported by the news medium, SaharaReporters is in possession of exclusive documents contravening the claim of the lawmakers.

According the officers, the Speaker met a monthly allocation of N27m for running cost and reduced it to N17m in 2015 as a mark of his prudence.

Romance3 Ways You Can Make Sex More Romantic by wayne200p(op): 8:30pm On May 08, 2020
Broaching the important topic of sex can sometimes be uncomfortable for many couples because let’s admit it, many of us are embarrassed about being sexually rejected or about our bodies.

Not only that, but society has also encouraged feelings of sexual shame, making romantic and intimate sex a scary endeavor to even talk about.

In an online study of 70,000 people in 24 countries, researchers found couples who have a great sex life make sex a priority rather than the last item of a long to-do list. They create space for intimacy and connection. These couples talk about sex and put the relationship first, despite the demands of work and kids. They discover sexual pleasure through a variety of methods, not just intercourse.

Here are three ways you and your partner can make sex more romantic in your relationship.

MASTER THE ART OF INTIMATE SEX TALK

The fact that you and your partner can’t have intimate conversations about sex is not good for your sex life. Having sex talks with your lover helps to deepen your intimacy and emotion connection while also learning your likes and dislikes when it comes to sex.

REDEFINE “SEX”

We all have a unique attitude towards sex usually shaped by our individual life experiences. Sex should be about passion rather than achieving a goal like reaching orgasm or mastering a technique. Goal-orientated sex can create sexual dysfunction when the goal isn’t reached as you are more likely to feel like there’s something wrong with you. When you make your sex about passion, then the pressure and shame of not performing to an expectation is gone as you no longer have to feel self-conscious. In other words, simply enjoy the experience as this will make things more pleasurable for both you and your partner. Ironically, not being stressed about having an orgasm makes it easier to have one.

HAVE A MENTAL EROTIC LOVE MAP

Building a mental erotic love map guides you on your partner’s sexual likes and dislikes to help you create a great sex life. Don’t be shy to ask specific questions about what they enjoy and don’t, what they want to try out and what makes them feel uncomfortable. Sample questions can be, What felt good about sex last time? What did we do that caused you to feel closer and connected to me? What did we do that made you relax? What did we do that turned you on? What do you need to make sex better for you? What makes sex more like lovemaking for you? What are fantasies or thoughts you have during sex?
PoliticsNewspresident Buhari Reveals Total Amount In COVID-19 Donation Accounts by wayne200p(op): 8:10pm On May 08, 2020
As the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 continues to roll out measures on how to curtial the spread of the pandemic in the country and manage its health and economic implications, President Muhammadu Buhari has commended public-spirited Nigerians and organisations for their financial and material support.

President Buhari also revealed the total amount in the five bank accounts designated for the COVID-19 contribution.

In a statement signed by his Spokesman, Garba Shehu and made available to DAILY POST on Friday, Buhari cited the provision of isolation, treatment and laboratory centres/facilities by individuals and companies such as Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu, Guaranty Trust Bank and ThisDay Newspapers and Partners among others in several states and Federal Capital Territory.

The President called on other privileged Nigerians and bodies to emulate these laudable gestures.

According to President Buhari, “We are facing a national challenge and all hands must be on deck to navigate this difficult course. In this respect, all types of assistance are welcome, big or small. The spirit behind the contributions is salutary.”

Records obtained from the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation about lodgements from 111 individuals and organisations into the FGN Covid-19 Eradication Support Accounts in the five designated banks between April 1-30, 2020, indicated the total sum of Six Hundred and Ninety Seven million, Five Hundred and Thirty-Eight Thousand, One Hundred and Eight Naira only (N697, 538, 108.00).

The above consists small payments of N5, N10, N14, N20 by individuals to huge deposits of N200 million by Dantata Property Development; N100 million by Ocean Trust Ltd; N25 million by NSITF; N20 million by Ebele and Anyichuks Foundation; N15 million by Nizamiya Hospital Abuja; and N10 million each by Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship and Association of Bureau De Change (BDC) respectively, among others.

HealthNigeria Eases Lockdown Measures Despite Increases In Coronavirus Cases by wayne200p(op): 8:44pm On May 07, 2020
ABUJA, NIGERIA - Computer specialist Michael Kundun left for work early Monday, as Nigeria's coronavirus lockdown eased at 6 a.m.

Kundun had not been to his shop in Abuja’s Nyanya Market since late March, when authorities announced the lockdown. When he opened, he had to clean and dust to get ready for business.

"It is going to be gradual," he said. "It's not going to be as it was from the beginning, but by the grace of God it will pick up. Business will pick up with time."

Nigeria relaxed its 35-day lockdown in Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states following President Muhammadu Buhari's order, given last week during his national address.

Harm to economy

Buhari concedes the lockdown has hurt the Nigerian economy, especially in non-essential sectors that depend on daily income for survival.

Much like Kundun’s business.

"The lockdown affected my business drastically," he said. "In fact, I found it difficult to work. I found it difficult to meet my customers."

FILE - Thousands swarm Utako market, which opened for just four hours to allow citizens to buy supplies before Ramadan, in Abuja, Nigeria, April 22, 2020. (Timothy Obiezu/VOA)
But the decision to relax the lockdown came as Nigeria's number of coronavirus cases has been increasing.

Daily figures publicly reported by Nigeria's Center for Disease Control doubled in the last week, reaching more than 2,500 on Monday. By Thursday, according to figures from Johns Hopkins University in the U.S., the total had climbed past 3,100.

This is why critics like Abuja resident Abubakar Ahutu have challenged the president’s position.

"I'm not happy about the planned relaxation of the lockdown," Ahutu said. "If the federal government or the president in particular is having good advisers, I think it is very bad for them at this point in time to start thinking about reopening the lockdown."

Before easing lockdowns for certain areas, authorities issued new regulations, including an overnight curfew, the mandatory use of face masks in public and strict social distancing restrictions.

But thousands across Abuja city on Monday flooded marketplaces and banks, thereby violating the physical distancing orders.

Look at Ghana

Economic analyst Audu Siyaka had this warning:

“Ghana tried to ease their lockdowns, and what happened was not palatable." They had to reverse their initial decision. I'm not saying that may happen to Nigeria, but it's a likelihood, because of our population."

Only 17,000 people have so far been tested for the coronavirus in Nigeria — an exceptionally small number when compared with figures in other African nations. But Buhari has promised aggressive testing and contact tracing in the coming weeks.

Critics will hold him by his words.

Trump seeks bilateral pact to avoid 'costly arms race,' White House spokesman Judd Deere says

Trump urges China, Russia arms control in Putin call

WASHINGTON

US President Donald Trump urged "effective arms control" that includes China and Russia during a telephone call with Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, the White House said Thursday.

"President Trump reaffirmed that the United States is committed to effective arms control that includes not only Russia, but also China, and looks forward to future discussions to avoid a costly arms race," according to spokesman Judd Deere.

Trump also spoke about the coronavirus pandemic, and other regional and bilateral matters during a call to commemorate the Nazi defeat in Europe, Deere said.

It was the second in as many days between Washington and Moscow after Secretary of State Mike Pompeo spoke Wednesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in a discussion that also addressed arms control.

Trump has long-sought China's inclusion in a renewal of the New START nuclear arms treaty that expires in February 2021, but Beijing has steadfastly rejected calls for its inclusion in what is a bilateral pact between the US and Russia.

The agreement limits the number of land and sea-based nuclear missile launchers that the US and Russia can deploy, and caps the number of nuclear warheads each nation can deploy to 1,550.

Trump has also withdrawn the US from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, a 1987 pact that was seen as a cornerstone of global security in the post-Cold War era. It prohibited the US and Russia from possessing and testing ground launched missiles with a range between 300-3,100 miles.

Trump announced his intent withdraw in October 2018 because of allegations Russia was failing to comply with the agreement, following through on the warning the following August.

PoliticsNewswe Won’t Bow To Pressure To Declare COVID-19 Case In Kogi – Yahaya Bello Gov by wayne200p(op): 8:17pm On May 07, 2020
Kogi State Government has reiterated its earlier resolve not to be pressured to announce a case of COVID-19.

The Kogi State Commissioner for Health, Dr Saka Haruna Audu, in a statement on Thursday, described as fake the news making the round that the state government is covering up an index case of the virus.

Dr Audu described the report as mischievous and politically inclined.

The statement reads “First and foremost, it is imperative that the public realise that there is no State Government that can deliberately put her people in harms way for whatever political reason, and the current administration has been scored high by local and international observers on Health. We have and will continue to put the health of our people as first priority.

“We are not new to Public Health Emergencies even if the COVID-19 pandemic is unarguably the most trying the world has ever witnessed. We have been in an annual fight against Lassa fever as the State is located in the Lassa fever belt, recording several cases with regrettable loses. We were first to establish a Biosafety Laboratory For Lassa fever in Nigeria and this year alone we have confirmed 30 cases of Lassa Fever that was duly announced. To accuse the state of a cover up of Covid-19 cases is mischievous and at best politically inclined.

“Is it not curious that I am the State Commissioner for Health, a member of the Governing board of FMC Lokoja, and also the incident manager for Covid-19 in the State, yet I have never been informed of the claimed cases in the report. There is also a representative of FMC Lokoja in the State’s Squadron against Covid-19 / Lassa fever and never for once was any such case raised in our meetings.

“Since the beginning of this pandemic we have held series of meetings with FMC Lokoja, and in this week alone we have had about 4 of such meetings. Such claims were never raised by the management of FMC. One then wonders the source and intent of the mischievous report. We are more inclined to believe that such fictitious claims being bandied about on the media are just meant to pressure the State into playing to the gallery of a narrative that ensures all States of Nigeria have Covid-19!

“We reiterate our earlier resolve not to be pressured to announce a case of Covid-19 where we have none, irrespective of Media propaganda from any quarters. We also remain resolute that getting a Covid-19 test result will not be a criterion for Kogites to access quality health care. We have learnt from previous experience in the management of Lassa fever that delay in giving appropriate Health care service under the guise of ‘waiting for test result’ can lead to fatal consequences!

“Hesitation by Health workers to give adequate Health care service resulted in the State having 40-50% Case Fatality Rate (CFR) in the management of Lassa fever, whereas cases managed at the State’s Specialist Hospital Lokoja received 100% recovery, hence our insistence that since it takes between 7 -10 days for suspected patients to get their Covid-19 test result, every patient must continue to receive adequate and health care services, while Health Care workers take all protective measures and patients that meet testing criteria will be tested.

“We remain committed to the WHO, Federal Ministry of Health and NCDC guidelines of who qualifies to be tested, and as at this moment, no case has been officially reported to the Kogi State, and media propaganda or devious intents from certain quarters will not push us to announce that we have a confirmed case in Kogi State.

“The lame notion that all the States surrounding Kogi State already have Covid-19 will not cause us to bat an eye lid, but rather increase us in conviction that if some other States gave in to pressure, we wouldn’t . We will continue to take samples from appropriate patients and members of the public in line with the laid down principles.

“Our Isolation centers are open for inspection from appropriate quarters and the insinuation by the said report needs not be given any attention. Kogi state had activated a rapid response team since 2017 long before any epidemic was suspected to occur.

“ Our success in investigating and curtailing alleged strange deaths in Okoloke Yagba west L.G.A in Kogi state in 2017 was well commended and applauded by National and international stakeholders. The so called strange disease which was later confirmed to be Yellow Fever was appropriately annihilated with collaboration from our ever dependable Health Development Partners.

“So much fake news has been peddled about Kogi State and we are no strangers to it. Recently it was said that 7 billion naira was expended in setting up a Marquee isolation center, an amount that is greater than the State’s monthly allocation, how ridiculous!

“KOGI STATE WILL NOT GIVE IN TO PRESSURE TO ANNOUNCE FICTITIOUS CASE OF COVID-19. We will only announce a real case of confirmed Covid-19 where it exists, and we advise our people to follow strictly the State Governments guidelines in the prevention of the disease, for as it stands, KOGI STATE IS OFFICIALLY COVID-19 FREE”.
