A moment of silence for people who chase volume instead of zero competition during keyword research. |

A very big mistake everyone makes when they want to buy a backlink is; they either purchase some guest posts, niche edits, or EDU, or they just relax. Backlinks are tiered, the first tier is the one in point to your site, the second tier is the one you point to the one you've pointed to your site; so is the third tier to the second one. This is what makes the backlinks powerful enough to push your site when you are targeting hard keywords or when you want to be in the first position for easy-medium keywords. Also, what has to be interlinked with other pages on a Blog that is offering it to you, this will ensure it has power if not, it will just be like every cheap link, except the site has a massive authority. |
online4business:You don't have a problem at all. There are 4 things involved. 1. Your keyword research game is weak, you wrote on a difficult topic. 2. Your title and cached meta description are not catchy enough. 3. Your post is being ranked for non-relevant keywords temporally ( happens often) 4. Your site is ranked from the second page; most impressions you get on the second page are from scrappers, and not human traffic. Congrats on your Shareasale approval! Take a look at a two weeks project, this is what it should look like if kw research is done properly.

Pennywise2:Surely! But deindex them first. |
Pennywise2:After going through proper KW research, if you dropped in rank or can't rank in position 1-4 or page one, then you are auto-penalized. Also, if only 4 of your pages or 30 of your pages are indexed when you use the site: search, then you are penalized. You will see manual penalty in your search console. You should evaluate the extent of the penalty, if it's grave, you should ditch the site, if not, "QUALITY" backlinks will help you recover. |
ClixMaster:Welcome! I will love to get an update on how it goes. Cheers! |
Pennywise2:E-A-T is an acronym for Expertise, Authority, and Trust. It is mentioned in Google's Search Quality Rater Guidelines (SQRG) for raters to evaluate while rating quality and purpose. Google has privately employed people called: "Raters" They go from website to website, deciding if it's worth it for you to rank in that category. They trigger both manual and automatic penalties. |
ClixMaster:Instead of redirecting or any form of 301, do PBN's. My friend in the fruit niche got hacked by the October update, he had just done 7 redirects. See what we have learned from painful experiences. 1) don't do redirects. 2) don't use images from istockimages or the like, except it's paid. Google lens will find you out and your site may be indexed but will not be served. Even if you've not been hit yet, updates are coming and you can be sure one of them will knock you off. If you must use a free stock image, write and use shapes on it. 3) don't write short articles of less than 1000 words, in the long run, it will make you lose your top spot(except it's an irrelevant niche or a local niche.) 4) Don't build useless links, it's not about quantity, it's about quality Most times when your post is on 3rd or 4th, one quality link will push you up to 1st position. Low-Quality links will only make your site get penalized 5) if you use AI or scrapped content, 6) If you start posting about random niches: when you post about a hundred niches at once, you'll fail google E A.T and you won't take any top spot except if you use heavy backlinks. You'll be hanging around the 4th to 10th position, except it's a zero-competition KW. If you decide to use redirects, you have to force index it with tools that are available online or add the site to a separate search console from your main site. |

online4business:Wp memory plugin Easy table of content |
eliok:Any, but I check it myself to make sure it's easy as specified. Some will say easy, but the keyword is not easy, some will say hard, but the keyword is not hard. |
online4business:First of all, you're using a poor host. Secondly, your cache plugin and the setting is not efficient For the second picture, your site got views on the post you made. |
eliok:I was able to use google cache to restore the articles. It's the site I am using for this journey. Thank God, nothing was lost, except the article I wrote yesterday. Fast forward I have started the new site which I said I was going to paraphrase and post. Things are beginning to look good. I have made 4 articles, and they all are on the first page.

Shege sat me down on a Sunday morning and said "I will kill you" After updating some useless plugins, my site crashed and I don't have a backup. Pls, don't forget to back up your site. Details soon. |
eliok:Generatepress is the fastest, but you need to design the layout and all. They have prebuilt websites that you can tweak to your taste. As for plugins Rank math Smush Litespeed cache Table of content Schema markup Those are the basics You can get a plugin for security, changing your login link, backup, and anything else. |
Xft1:Creating a thread is free. No need to be unfortunate. Thanks! |
I have noticed something. If you write on an easy keyword and include the keyword in your meta, title, and link—you will naturally rank on the first page. But for you to take the first spot, the age of the site is important, and authority is also important, before considering the quality of articles. The quality of the article will help you gain organic backlinks and longer dwell time, but it doesn't guarantee you the first spot. Why do I say so? If you are familiar with the dog niche, no matter what you write, if dogtime.com writes just #100 words; they will outrank you because of their age and authority. This is why I go for aged strong expired domains. Search for "can dog eat tater tots" and you will see what I'm saying. So how can I get the NO1 position? #1 Do follow and niche-related authority backlinks ( usually paid, but I teach my students free effective backlinks) #2 if you don't have money for quality backlinks, or time to make them yourself, you need to do a proper LSI: this will tell google that you have all the information a reader is looking for about that topic. The first page is guaranteed if you do good research, but the first position is even more guaranteed if you have zero competition keywords and a proper LSI and content mapping strategy. Good luck to you! |
Kingjite:If you want. |
There are three important things to keep in mind. Niche This is where your success begins. Don't waste your time in certain niches. Health, fitness, tech, and a few others. You will use frustration and quit blogging. You will be among the people discouraging others because of your failed experiment. If you're the education type, do you know social science is a beautiful niche? You can answer questions people are asking regarding sociology( my course in delsu that year), psychology, social studies, economics, civic education, and so forth. Keyword research Pls, use your money and buy shawarma if you just want to be blogging without keyword research. It worked in the past but can't work now. Prior to this journey I already owned some sites, but I made use of writers and rented PBNs, so I was able to target and successfully rank hard keywords, but this journey aims to teach how to run a blog without spending so much money. On nairaland here, I first started with a dog blog, I ended up wasting my time because I didn't do KW research, I started derailing and writing hard keywords which I eventually failed woefully, before I switched niches and tactics. This is what you want to avoid by doing keyword research, gathering up to 250 easy keywords before you start a blog. Domain This category is as important as the two listed above. A new domain will not only suffer indexing issues, but it'll also experience what I call google dance( today it's on the first page, tomorrow it's on the second page, next tomorrow you won't even see it at all.) Secondly, a new domain is young hence, google thinks it doesn't have enough authority yet; so, you won't rank for most of your articles, even if you rank, you will get the last position on every search query. This is why I go for aged domains. I don't look at anything else when I'm searching for a domain. I may track the DA and PA, CF and TF, and UR and PR, but I prioritize the domain's age. You also want to get a domain in the same niche as your intended niche. You cannot want to blog on how to convert Irish potatoes to vodka and you'll be using a domain that was used for tech... You will see shege. |
