She Leads Africa believes in the power of young African women to build amazing careers and businesses, serve as community leaders and influencers, and eventually take over the world.

Our #MotherlandMoguls, as we affectionately call them, are the reason we exist and we’re expanding to provide them with more inspiring and educational content to help them live their best lives.

We’re looking to bring on two new employees, Graphic Designer & WordPress Developer and Editorial Lead with amazing writing skills, who’d like to join us in building She Leads Africa into the number one digital destination for smart and ambitious African women.

Role: Graphic Designer & WordPress Developer

Responsibilities:
Graphic Design (65%)

Serve as the lead creative designer for all SLA branded materials for events and programs
Design graphics for SLA articles, online guides and webinars
WordPress Development (35%)

Maintain the back end of the SLA website
Develop bi-weekly experiments to optimize the site for users
Keep all plug-ins and accounts up to date
Monitor daily traffic and make recommendations on how to deliver a better visitor experience


Role: Editorial Lead

Responsibilities:

Develop a content schedule with themes and confirmed content for 2 months
Develop second day and feature story ideas around breaking and viral news
Proactively reach out to freelancers, bloggers, and content creators to invite them to create content for the platform and provide training to upskill their contributions
Edit articles and ensure that all written content on the site is of high quality and reflects the SLA voice
Utilize data to determine the most effective headlines, content types and placement for our audience
Identify the content pieces that should be included in the weekly newsletter
Develop new content types and styles (infographics, quizzes, surveys, Q &A, etc)
Work with the Community and Partnerships Manager to generate unique social media and marketing engagement opportunities
Work with the Business Development Manager to deliver native advertising campaigns
Work with the graphic designer and developer to develop engaging art for our articles
Requirements:

We want a team with diverse backgrounds and viewpoints so we’re not looking for people with fancy degrees or big names on their CVs. We want people with the following characteristics:

Proactive and thoughtful about solving problems and figuring things out
Committed to the mission of She Leads Africa and are passionate and helping women in business and career in Africa
Comfortable working independently and delivering on tasks without constant supervision
Able to consistently deliver high quality work without silly errors and grammatical mistakes
A natural curiosity to making things better and delivering a better product to our customers
Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with an international team
