Ne'ertheless, it cannot be totally relied upon, because not only do a lot of people have no lick of idea what it means(especially our Naijarians), but a lot do misunderstand the concept and do not respond at all, if they are not attending. As a result, I'm afraid your mum/pal or whoever, has to give you a definite number of people to expect, so you can fall back on the strictly-by-invitation thingy, OR your own discretion, should be deemed golden.
