Suzuki drivers have already adjusted, before you even view a trip twice it's gone

Same way even if app cos increases their fares by 50%, riders will still adjust. It only takes time

people keep saying this and I wonder why. What exactly do you want people to do? Just this last protest that happened some people were arrested and charged with treason. Fighting the current system/government is a waste of time right now.

I honestly don’t want to dabble into this price of a thing too deep. It’s not today, market will regulate itself. My most concern is the state of the nation, maybe the importers are the ones enjoying and on the flip, they’ll tell you they don’t have money to import goods. Workers are already complaining of hikes in transportation, food stuffs will follow soon. Cost of maintaining car is sick. If things continue in the progression, one may not be able to buy same car after 2 years. E.g if one buy Corolla last 2 years for this hustle, can we say we’ve saved to enable us buy same car at latest value? I guess the challenges of life is another hurdle ( taking care of family and paying bills).


About price… if fuel goes back to 100 naira today, the app won’t automatically reset back to the value of such. It will take some time. The only problem I have here is drivers not ignoring some trips. Drivers inability not to off their app. If some goes offline, it will be surge for another. All in all, let all man do what works for them..

As someone said, many drivers feed from hand to mouth, (no work no chop). I have done just 3 trips this week and they were all destination trips. My advice to anyone that cares to listen now will be to start looking for something else to do. Driving with the current price of fuel and cost of car maintenance with the current fares is not it at all.

this Sunday alone, I made 74k with 20k. (64k indrive, 10k offline) every day comes with its own challenge but Sundays are different. I only work on Sundays now since the fuel palava started.

There's nothing like rush pick trip. You can't wait for hours for 1 in a million "golden trip" and you expect to meet target. Bolt is still far better than indrive. Just order on both app now(same location and same destination) and see the difference in price.

@pheelhip: that your 8k and 11k trip would be higher on bolt. Moreover you can now choose the trips you want on bolt. Reject as many as you want and accept the ones U want. Even if you deduct the 25%, the money left will still be more than indrive after their 10.76% deduction.

NB: I'm on comfort on both app

that's why indrive is better(for me), because I can decide to bid higher for this trip and the rider will accept.
PS.. this is the trip I talked about earlier, its even 12mins not 15

4k5 same place you renew your papers, it doesn't take more than 20mins after they start doing it

it's always advisable to do hackney permit if you're driving on uber. it's very cheap and doesn't take more than 20mins to get. I have been in many situations where those useless VIO thought they've gotten me(as I normally don't give them the Hackney till they ask).

Today, I left my home and I was stopped in palm Avenue Mushin. Offence. My temporary driving license expired on the 09/07/24. Exactly 6 days ago.

I was driven to zone D mushin. After every every, I parted with 10k plus 5 hundred for gate. Total =10500...

Immediately, I proceeded to lastma office oshodi where I did the temporary and I got an extension at till 30th of August... I felt invisible and I proceeded to look for client. I saw one just at the oshodi interchange, she was going to mushin(make I dey go house back)

I never start motor a policewoman stopped me at same oshodi interchange.. I gave her a complete paper work of the car plus the new temporary license. She certified everything alright and said it remain "Hackney permit"

After long talk, I offered 1k. She refuse. I showed her my opay, na 2k remain. I offered to transfer to her, make I dey go house drop motor. She refuse transfer. And asked me to go withdraw blah blah.

I left angrily. Using map to find my way, trying not to make some funny turn as Lastma people have dealt with me.

As I was going, another set at mile 2 stopped me, wielding gun etc. Treated me like a criminal, searched my car, asked for the usual etc, I told them it was collected by a policewoman at the oshodi inter change.

Since 12, I have been detained inside a nearby korope in mile 2. My car, my Temporary driving Licence, the new temporary extension I got few hours ago, everything is not in my position...

Current situation.

I wish I could make a case against them. This is not how to treat a law abiding citizen.

this your story is really confusing. firstly, do you keep your original car papers in your car? secondly, how did you get to mile 2 from oshodi while going to mushin?

Always have a valid DL when driving. Recently I renewed my papers with one of my friend(VIO office Edmund crescent) he's the boss in his section. I forgot that my DL had expired. 2 days after, VIO officers stopped me before waec junction inward jibowu. I had seen them at the yabatech junction but I was so sure I had complete papers. I stopped and pulled over and then told the guy politely that I usually do my papers at your office with so so person, unfortunately he isn't known with the name. He asked for my DL and I gave it to him. Then he said it has expired. I said give me let me see. He refused and showed me from afar, but I couldn't see it so I told him that we should go to their office since it's close by. They said I won't drive and they dragged my key with me in the ignition. My car was unlocked. They overpowered me and collected it and I succumbed and told them to drive to their office. When we got there I called my friend. He said I would have settled with them or even call him immediately. Told him I was too sure I had everything complete and that if I knew I would have done it with him. That I thought they wanted to extort me!

The guy that drove the car went into their ogas office(the head of their own section....I guess patrol) and lied against me that I was driving them away from the spot they stopped me, to a different area and they had to drag the key at the ignition with me. The oga got angry and issued me 20k fine. Then he said my car will be in their office for 3 weeks, 4 tyres deflated and I would have to go to epe(every day for 3 weeks) for one yeye training.

My guy said I didn't do it well, but I would have to pay the fine cos it had been registered but I won't go to epe. That I would get the car that day but in the evening when he must have calmed down.

To cut it short. I paid the 20k and collected my car the same day in the evening. My friend called one of the ogas at unilag DL office and told me to go there the next day. I went and viola, did capture 2 days after! I learnt my lessons though(not totally my fault sha) but then me and those guys na correct paddies now. They see me at times and they don't stop me anymore. Met one at a bar close to my house and he bought me and my friends drinks.

it's really hard to forget your licence has expired since its expiry date is always on your birthday

check if it's dropping from under, if it is then you have to change to seal in-between the engine and gear

the vibration has stopped...it's just remaining the occasional jerking while on motion. it did that twice today

I won’t say fix, but manageable. Changed the gasket and the weather has been favorable for driving. While changing the gasket, we realized man has to start planning for another engine, but went ahead to change the gasket and smooth the top. I’ve been using it and work has been going smooth so far, no such things as off again, slight vibration once in a while(maybe in hot sun, but morning and evening is perfect). Engine is around 280k though, so I am bracing up for come whatever. As for the vibration, I am suspecting one of my fan, might change it next week to see if it will resolve that.

mine has been giving me issues for a week now..it's jerks sometimes while on the move and vibrates when steady. I've changed 4 plug, fuel pump, even gear oil, service nozzle. it's stopped but once in a while it still jerks

listen to the advice you were just given by northbird, as a newbie I also believe you have no business with indrive or rida, start with uber or/and bolt, get used to how billings work and later switch to indrive if you still want to.

Some riders are just very wicked. Took this guy from sabo to around passport office ikoyi.(His office) He begged me to take him to a super market and bring him back to his office, that he would add to the money. I took him there, waited for sometime and brought him back to his office. This guy transferred the same amount on the app. He left the car and entered his office immediately he made the transfer. I called him and told him and the wicked idiot didn't even say anything.

this lady wanted me to pass a route that clearly show 15mins slower and has a toll gate and I refused telling her I'm in a hurry to somewhere. I even told her that we can cancel so she can get another ride. she said what if she add 500 naira?(smh). I refused and she said OK, we should go. only to see that she gave me 1star later.

You can't transfer or receive money for more than 2hours now. NIBSS is down

I have been in the job market for years and I can tell you what is obtainable from experience.

When I say there are no jobs. I mean jobs for people in my age not MT.
It's based on connection and referrals.

I've passed recruitment stages from test till I met with CEO and I didn't get it because I'm Igbo.
I've passed recruitment stages from test till names were sent to FCC. Checked from commissioner representing my state and name still intact till it got to the department/agency and it was shortchanged.
I've passed NNPC test and went to Abuja for interview and I heard nothing again since 2011.

I was the highest in a recruitment test at p/h(travelled from lag to p/h) On the day of the interview, they gave a particular guy so much respect and audience. They even gave him tea and they never offered me anything. They didn't ask me more than 2 questions and they told me to go. In fact they hurriedly interviewed me. I scored 74% and the guy got 52%. We discussed it when we sat together.

Another one in Lagos. I was the first to come for the interview but they attended to the guy that came after me and he was asked to go for medicals even before I was interviewed. I made the interviewers understand what they did. One was trying to defend it and the other apologised.

I passed test(2 times) and interview for Abinbev. I was even called for medicals but I didn't get the job at the end. I was replaced.

Bro, I can go on and on and on and on. I have so many experience. When I tell you there's no other way aside connection and referrals, trust me, I know what I'm saying.

I have worked with construction/building/haulage companies and production/chemical companies for 8/9 years all together.

we all have stories for days bro, before I decided to start my own business and then compliment it with ehailing I know what I went through and the numerous disappointment due to not having godfather in higher places...the final one was the immigration saga, I passed all the process only to be replaced overnight by a guy who didn't even write the test at stage one.
