There's no bank holiday. I don't know what the delay is, cos I've been watching that page like a hawk 🤣

Dried foods should be fine. Just have to seal and package it very well. Cos when I visited Nigeria 2 Years ago I was able to bring back dried foods. Just make sure u submit them(the word I wanted to use just ran out of my head) u know the ones that don't take with u on the plane. Don't forget that. Any food at all. Should go with u on the plane.. even if it's small.. no matter the quantity.

Thanks
Thank you. I went down a research rabbit hole and found out that they don't accept most types of meat and their products to be imported... Fish and snail are fine and have their weight limits, but for beef, chicken, goat, pig etc. they don't allow again. Other plant based foods are fine like egusi, ogbono and so on.

Heard it's a new thing or something like that. Just putting this here so others will see and know what to pack.

I applied July 29th in Lagos. The decision was made August 22nd, so it took almost a month.

Hi, you can only go with a dependent if you're going for a PhD. If it's a Masters, you can't bring any dependents along.

I hope this helps.

BeauBragnar11:
Hello,

Thanks for your inputs this far, please I need more clarity on this issue of coming with dependents.

I have an agent who keeps telling me to apply to Ireland as they permit relocation with a dependent, even as per our discussions today, the agency still insists on this..

Please how true is this?

Thanks

Hello guys. Please what's the average time it takes to get a visa decision during this period? I know it's peak season but I've heard someone say 3 weeks but I just want to confirm
TravelRe: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by Werosuo(f): 3:26pm On Jun 24, 2024
Amen. Thank you so much.

I noticed the Irish Visa Authorities love honesty, so I was seriously contemplating how to word it that they won't think I'm using all my family's money for my education 😂 leaving them with nothing lol.
I totally forgot I can attach more evidence of my parents' financial capability like C of O etc.. I guess I just needed some assurance.

I really appreciate the advice! Thank you!

Segunagagu:
So Sorry for your father's passing. May his soul rest in perfect peace. You are correct! Just explain everything as U have said it right there. Especially your dad's passing. You don't have to explain all the lump-sum in your mum account. U only have to explain the lumpsums in your own account. Showing those monies coming in. They will correlate it with the way it's coming out of your mum account and entering yours. Also include his death certificate. You will be fine. With all what you have Said up there if U submit all those documents. You will definitely be alright.

And yes !!! Please include all the background of your situation. Like write everything as it happened. Reason is because, U want to get everything right the first Time. You want to get that visa the first Time. Also. If your mom or dad has properties, please include one or two C of O's just to support. Wish you success . Let me know if you need anything else
TravelRe: Ireland Study Visa thread,General Life Experience of Nigerians Living in Ireland by Werosuo(f):
Thank you very much for the response. The truth is that my Dad passed away about 2 months ago, he was meant to be my Sponsor as he had the bulk of the money in his account. Since his passing, we've transferred the money from his account to my Mom's in small amounts (due to the limit of internet banking transfers) and this money will be used for his funeral and other arrangements. This is why we have chosen to use the investment they made together as my Education fund.

Now, since there have been so many transactions in my Mom's account, it may be hard to explain every single lump sum as she herself doesn't remember some of the people who sent her money (because there's no name in the transaction). And also it may be hard to get pay slips as she's a Teacher at a Federal school and they are a bit incompetent.

I'm thinking of submitted her employment letter, my Dad's employment letter, the investment certificate, bank statements + explanation and his death certificate. Do you think this is enough for sponsorship info? Remember that I've already paid full tuition+ Edubond+ $6k personal savings.

In my explanation of fees and funds, do you think I should give them a background of my situation? Like my Dad passing and all. Can I also include evidence of another investment in their names so that they know she's fine even after spending money on me? Thank you.

Segunagagu:
Paying full tuition and also using edu bonds is a plus plus. VO will Know you are serious.

Include in a letter explaining that the funds in your account is from an investment your parents made. Make sure U show proof of that investment.

Regarding banks statements. Please include your mum's own as well. Let it show that money movement of the money from her account to your account. Also write a letter stating all these. Dont forget to also explain any large transaction In your account too. They love all these things..they want to know U re not laundering money. Also. If your mother has properties, include the C of Os. Just give them proof that U will be okay during your study and won't want to rely on any support from the government. They want to know that U can pay your rent and feed without even working. Just show them all this and you will be granted Visa easily.

Yes U can include her payslip which will be Very good so they see the name and they know it's truly your mother sponsoring you. The name will also correlate with her bank statements together with your name on all your documents as well..

Hello Everyone,
I'm planning on studying in Ireland this Sept and about to apply for my visa. The funds I'm using is from an investment my parents made, the money has been liquidated into my acct and I've paid full tuition + Edubond. I also have about $6k in my personal account as extra living expenses. My Mom is my primary sponsor.

Seeing that this is my situation, do I still need to submit a bank statement for her? And if yes, do I also need to show evidence of her employment + other requirements for sponsors (like payslips etc). Or can I just submit her bank statement with explanation and end it there since the money is in my account and has already been used to pay full tuition and Edubond?

Thanks.

Thank you so much. I have selected yes in response to the mail. This is what I am planning to do. My first date was on 31st June.
On PTDF site was 27th and link came with 27th.

Now, I received another link with different time but still maintained 27th. I will have to start login with the earliest time and date.

By God's grace, I believe it will be hitch free.

I wish everyone best of luck in the interview and rectification of any faults. May we find favour to excel her.
I was also 31st but was moved to 27th... Yet to receive the invite link. This is frustrating
