Outstandingsand: Thank u, so u mean i shuld go ahead with d passport proccess buh holdon with d police report?Yes, if you're not current. |
Outstandingsand: Please can someone tell me what 2NL Means and cant i go ahead with my passport processes n police report wthout the 2NL? Please reply.. Thanks.2NL means 2 notification letter. It's the notification of the date and time of your interview. You can proceed with your passport processing, wait until you're current before getting the police clearance certificate as that has a 3 month expiry. |
janut: The numbers are already available. You can call KCC on 00916065267500 and they will give you the numbers.True that. You can call to confirm or wait till its posted. DV requires a lot of patience, find something else to obsess with, go clubbing, dance skelewu and carry Osho. Unless you're current of course! |
It's going to take a lot for you to get the CN out of KCC or the embassy for that matter. There is no harm in trying, what browser did you check on? Can you get in touch with whoever completed the application for you? |
cacius: . Thank you so much for the information. I will do that as soon as possible. Not paying an over stay fine will that be counted as a crime? I do not want to have any kind of record on my police clearance. Plz does anyone knows if non payment as overstay can be considered as a crime? To the best of my knowledge, police clearance certificate only shows crimes you have been arrested and convicted of. Overstaying and not paying the fine will not show in the police clearance but might be in issue at POE at the airport in JHB. |
cacius: Hello my learned friends, Justwise, Collinsfbi Stenanco and the rest of you guys helping people on this thread. May your days be long. I will like to know if its possible to get SA police clearance or certificate as the case maybe at their Embassy in Nigeria. I was in SA for 3yrs but had to come back home in March this year cos of an emergency and I had already submitted my permit with home affairs to be renewed and I was adviced that I can go home with the receipt from home affairs and come back with it too. So when I was leaving the country a black guy at the counter who definitely do not like Nigerians told me I have over stayed even with the evidence that my application is pending at home affairs so he wrote me a slip to pay the fine of R3000 in their embassy in Nigeria. I was so angry that day that I just could not understand why the black on black hate. I spent so much money their country doing certificate courses to be a certified Safety officer and this is how I was treated. Am having an interview with an embassy here in Lagos and they are asking me to get police clearance in any country I have lived in the past six months. I want to know if I can get it through SA embassy here or I have to go back to SA to get it in person. It will save me much money if I don't have to go there in person. Plz any useful information will be appreciated. Thanks all.I'm not 100% sure about the peculiarity of your case, where did you seek advice and you were told you can travel with your receipt? To my best knowledge, you are supposed to wait till you get your permit before you can leave the country. As regards the police clearance, you can get it from Nigeria, the stress will be double but it's doable. (Speaking from experience) Hopefully you have friends in SA that can help you, here is what you have to do. Go to Alagbon and have your fingerprints taken, make sure you explain to them extensively that you plan to send the fingerprints to SA to obtain police clearance. When that is done, go the website of the south african foreign affairs and diwnload the police clearance application form. Fill the form and write a cover letter and send the everything to your friend in SA along with R100. Police clearance cost R59 to be paid in a bank draft so that rest of the money should cover the bank draft. If your friend lives in PTA, he can submit in your behalf (the office to submit is at schoeman in PTA, google can help with that) it takes about 28 days for the certificate to be issued. Your friend can pick it up and send it to you. I'm sending this from my phone so it might not be as concise but that's the blueprint. Best of lucks |
abiodunraufu: Forumites pls help. My 55-year old uncle, an accountant with four kids, is a selectee and his visa interview is in November. I know that officially there is no age limit. But will his age count against him during the interview with the CO?It won't count against him. I hope he included his kids in the application if they are all under 18, it's a big opportunity for his kids as well. I wish them all the best |
L'blaque Haven:Yea, you can check again. If there will be additional selection this year, it will probably be in October but no harm in checking again. Best of luck |
Forgive my paranoia but it seems some of the guys posting here asking unnecessary questions also posted on the dv2013 thread as winners. It's confusing, I'm not singling anyone out but looking at some folks profile just gives this impression. I might be wrong though. |
juman: Hmmmm. Our beloved country? LoL.... Speak for your self |
XYZZ: What were you trying to achieve? and this does not look like the 2NL, please what is this letter for?The email you get to check the ESC website for your 2NL. |
lagbabe: its simply rude,nd ur due respect isn't needed here,if u think u can't supply ansa to d question, just let it pass for u,u dnt need to make unreasonable and stupid comments den saying u dnt mean to be rude.Lets take it easy guys |
Vikktorr: virginofafrica seems to be correct. If you have lived in other countries other than Nigeria for more than six months, then you MUST get a police report from that country. For example, Lets say,i schooled in the UK for somes years and now back to Nigeria, i'll have to get a police report of behaviour from the police department in the UK. Please someone correct me if i'm wrong. Thank you.Yea, that's correct. You need a police clearance from every country you have lived in for more than 6 months since you turned 16 |
seubis: Has anyone received his or her 2NL in nigeria?Yea, did you bother reading the thread at all? |
virginofafrica: yah you are right! I just called kcc to confirm my package and it is confirmed. And i went on to ask when i should be expecting my 2nl of which she said that they will start sending september 6 (according to her ) so i believe we should just start preparing before then. My case number is 0000603* any idea when my interview would be ?My guess is November. |
People on other forums have confirmed receiving their 2NL..... Looks like the business is starting.... |
Talking of police report, how do you go about obtaining one from from a foreign country? South Africa to be specific. |
ikomboy: hello winners...For the police record:I've lived in 2 different states in Nigeria since I was 16. Am I supposed to get the police reports for the 2 states I lived in which is correct according to the police records section in this link http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4760.html or should I get the police report from Nigeria Police Force, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos which is correct according to this link http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9704. I need someone to please clarify it because I'm confused...Are we supposed to get ONE AND ONLY ONE police record/certificate in Nigeria no matter the number of different places we have lived in since we were 16? Thanks a lot fellow selectees, we'll surely have causes to smile beginning from October this year as we get our visas. Amen.I believe you only need 1 police report from Alagbon. |
Demo81: helooo house. Wen shuld we be exptin our 2nd notification. It's a matter of patience, I'll say maybe 2 weeks from now. People get their 2nl 4-6 weeks before their interview. It should start rolling out in September |
XYZZ: Dates for the DV-2015 program registration period will be widely publicized in the coming months. Those interested in entering the DV-2015 program should check the Department of State’s Visa web page for more details in September. I hope Nigeria will be eligible? i read somewhere that Naija is ineligible but i dont know how fact is it.On the DV lottery page in Wikipedia, it says Nigeria won't be eligible for DV 2015 but no official confirmation yet. I pray we are eligible, many of my guys still has to win oooooo |
asimfageary: Dears,Going by DV2013 cut off numbers, the cut off for Nigeria in August was 19,800 and 81,200 for the rest of Africa so if your CN is actually what you say it is, expect your interview to be in September of next year. |
akintunde95: pls i need help.... Since my case number is 2014AF00045254 do i need to send my forms to KCC now .... or a should wait tanksJust go ahead and send your forms, your CN is a bit high but everybody is current for DV2013, hopefully it would be the same for DV2014 |
Malcolm28: My case number is in the 76** range. Going by the current bulletin, I should be current by November. Does one need a guarantor in the US for DV? Came across one guarantor form don't know if it applied to DV applicants. Any info in this regard will help.Do you mean affidavit of support? If yes, Nigerians don't need an affidavit of support. You do need to provide an address in the US where you intend to reside. |
ewhoma: Thanks guys. When do u think I will be current pls? My CN is 2014AF0001055*A safe guess would be December, I'm not sure CN above 10000 will be current for November so think December. |
Stillluvnaija: House, My wife has finally become current in Oct.(20140000052**) I have three questions.1: I believe you only submit your passport electronically if you emailed your forms to KCC, if you sent through post, the physical copy is all that's needed. 2: I'm not sure about the birth certificate part, maybe someone else can help 3: visa issuance after the interview takes 2 weeks, some people from the 2013 thread reported picking up their visas a week after the interview but generally it's 2 weeks. |
buklan4real@yah:From looking through previous visa bulletins, cut off numbers for Nigeria in November has varied from 8500, 7500 and 10000. Your case number is a good way to guess when your interview might be |
Congratulations to those whose visas has been issued and for those awaiting their interviews, it shall be successful IJN. I'm a 2014 winner and I need advice, I have read this thread from the first page to about halfway so please forgive me if this question has been answered before. I just picked up my Waec certificate and there are 2 errors. Wrong year of birth and my surname was wrongly abbreviated. I went back to Waec to have then fix it but they said they can't help with that. Someone adviced me to swear an affidavit, will that work? Thanks in anticipation |
Folks, take some time out and read through the 2013 DV winners thread, it's over 700 pages but trust me after a few hundred pages you'll be properly tutored. Just my 1 cent. |
kevwe_flex: NATIiON POPULATION COMMISSIONRoooodboy, mine looks way different and it doesn't say attestation of birth rather it says certificate of birth and I got it from NPC Ikeja office. I was born pre '92, I'm really confused. |
House, please help me I have a little concern. I just got my NPC birth certificate today but I am really not sure it the right one everybody is talking about. Granted i didn't tell them I want to use it at the embassy so I could have gotten the wrong one, if anyone has the "long form" birth certificate, please what does it look like and what information does it contain? |
What do I need to present at NPC to obtain my birth certificate? Also, Waec certificate came with some errors, how can that be corrected? |
I'm going to Waec's Ogba office tomorrow to get my certificate, what should I prepare for? |
