Watching again, Kidd's team was a total flop, Dora's team was manageable but very bland, lacks melody, Laycon's team had everything and was obviously the best, though a better vocal would have even improved it, but this is not a vocal specific competition.
Give props to the people who read from the book, out of the one hour given to them for preparation, they probably spent 55 minutes brainstorming and fine tuning their ideas.

They actually had more than an hour to prepare for this task. They had too much time on their hands that they all sat down gisting and Laycon was dropping mad lines

Well it may not totally be justifiable but it could be downplayed based on the circumstance or motivation.

When I saw your question, the movie "Merry Men" came to mind.
There was this politician who had embezzled money and wanted to use his status and wealth to displace the poor and helpless...
The Merry men, stepped in and wiped the man's account clean and so he couldn't go on with his plan which in turn meant that the poor retained their hope for shelter and their means of livelihood.
