Are 50 kobo, 1 naira and 2 naira truly money in Nigeria? When last have you seen them? Will a bank pay you Naira1003.50koko? Please read on.

Money is any object or record that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given socio-economic context or country.
If currently available coins (50 kobo, 1 naira and 2 naira) are not generally accepted, then it is not Nigerian MONEY, but rather a waste of money. So why change 5, 10, 20 naira from money to a piece of metal.

Scenario 1: Go to 5 banks, ask to withdraw N1003.50k, (1 thousand and three naira, 50 kobo), and share your experience here
Scenario 2: Some Chewing Gums are sold at 4 for 5 Naira (which means 2 for N2.5k), give the seller 2Naira, fifty kobo and ask for 2 chewing gums, share your experience here.
Scenario 3: Take a cab (Danfo; if in Lagos), and include coins as part of your payment. Share your experience here if you are not stoned with it
Scenario 4: Give ten 2naira (equivalent of 20naira) as alms to a beggar, notice his/her reaction and share it here with us.
Now answer these questions yourself
Q1. When last have I seen (not even spend, seen) 2naira (Probably 2007 when it was introduced)?
Q2. Will I receive five 2 naira as ten naira?
Q3. Is a 2naira coin money to me?

Conclusion: Coins are spent in many countries of the world, and should be accepted in Nigeria (eg. You should actually get 3naira change when you buy 1 litre of petrol @97 naira). But, should 5,10,20 naira be made into coin?

Also, man u needs defenders ASAP, need a backup for evra, valencia playing right back (rafael still resting) not cool, nani needs to be constistent, dont buy RVP for the bench, Kagawa is a 10 (noticed he played better in the last 30 when he was moved to 10), carrick is not a defender( where is phil jones, smallings), scholes should be for emergencies (anderson is back), De Gea on point (hope he's better with low balls, no probs with high balls, and he doesnt adjust his gloves every now and then again).

It is hard to believe that Van Persie, at the age of 29, is burnt out and will not perform as well this season, but the Gunners do have a history of selling stars right as their prime footballing years are behind them.

In the past decade, Arsenal have sold players like Thierry Henry, Alexander Hleb, Mathieu Flamini and Emmanuel Adebayor at the peak moment in their careers and none have had as much success since their move away from the club.

Henry, one of Arsenal's best players in its history, failed to match his success with the Gunners at Barcelona and moved to MLS to finish out his career after three seasons in Spain.

Hleb and Flamini were both transferred to big-name clubs and could not find any success either.

Hleb never found a permanent first-team spot with Barcelona and his now back home in Belarus playing for BATE Borisov.

Flamini has suffered the same fate in Italy, and was barely used by AC Milan last season due to a knee injury.

Adebayor still has a chance for success, but as long as he stays on the books at Manchester City, he will not be a prolific goal scorer as he sits behind Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Carlos Tevez on the depth chart.

Another trend that goes against Van Persie is the struggle of the leading scorer in the Premier League to perform better the next season.
From 2006 to 2011, only one top goal scorer, Cristiano Ronaldo, was able to crack the top 10 in goals the next season.

Didier Drogba, twice, Dimitar Berbatov, Carlos Tevez and Nicolas Anelka all experienced a drop in production.

This is a thread for Manchester united FC fans on NL for the 2012 summer transfer.
So far, Man U signed the much rated Kagawa, offloaded Ji Park (to QPR) and Fabio (loan) also to QPR. I'll get a review of these transfers here ASAP.

Andriy Shevchenko has announced he will retire from international football following Ukraine's group stage elimination from Euro 2012.

The 35-year-old striker won his 111th cap for his country on Tuesday, coming on as a substitute in his side's 1-0 defeat by England.
Shevchenko captained his country to the World Cup quarter-finals in 2006 and won the Ballon d'Or in 2004.
He plans a specially arranged friendly before exiting the international stage.
Shevchenko has been his country's talisman for over a decade, with a national record 48 goals. He scored his first international strike in a friendly against Turkey in 1996, and his last two came in Ukraine's 2-1 victory over Sweden in the co-hosts' first game of this tournament.
At club level he won the Champions League with AC Milan in 2003 - scoring the winning penalty in the shoot-out - and has collected silverware in Italy and England as well as his native country.
As a 29-year-old Shevchenko signed for Jose Mourinho's Chelsea for £30m in May 2006, but spent a largely unproductive two-season spell in the Premier League before returning to Milan.
