A three-day retreat for the foundation staff of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, has kicked off at the university’s take-off site in Otada, with the theme “Establishing A Sustainable FUHSO Culture And Core Values”.

Declaring the retreat open, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Innocent Ujah, welcomed the participants warmly to the Institution, which he described as the first of its kind in Nigeria.
In his keynote address, the Vice Chancellor of FUHSO and President, Nigeria Medical Association, appealed to all the participants to quickly imbibe the core values of Integrity, Innovation, Transparency, Accountability, Dedication, and Partnership as they settle down to their work, stressing that anyone found wanting would be promptly shown the way out.
Professor Ujah, who told the story of the establishment of the University to his foundation staff in great details, paid glowing tributes to the persevering spirit of all those who waddled through the murky waters of frustration and uncertainties to eventually see the Institution on ground. He particularly applauded former Senate President David Mark for sowing the seed.


Earlier in his welcome remarks, the Chairman of the Organising Committee of the retreat, and Director of Educational Planning of FUHSO, Professor Owoicho Akpa, commended the Vice Chancellor’s foresight in bringing all the foundation staff of the University together to interact, understand each other, and rub minds for the growth of the Institution in a desirable direction.
In today’s technical session, Professor Steve Abah spoke to the FUHSO foundation staff on ”Planning, Time Management And Goal Setting As Self-Development/Success Tooks For FUHSO Staff”, among other papers presented.
The retreat continues tomorrow with more paper presentations and other activities.
The foundation staff of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, is made up of workers from the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria.

Please, is there any one among us who is invited for the interview? Because the whole thing seems more of rumour. Those with PhD were invited and the rest, they said the CBT is alright and it's the score that'll be used. Now that you said the academic staff are already interviewed, yes but CBT or physically? Let's find out the authentic information except if any one of us who attended it could respond. Thanks!

The students seeking admission in to the school were called for post UTME last Thursday and Friday as confirmed by their website and the students who went there. It's expected that the admission list for students will be out soon. This is a pointer also that the staff recruitment list for successful individuals will be out too, perhaps this month ending or early next month. I've heard rumours that they have already given appointment letters, and as I said RUMOURS, it remains so as there's no any formal information about appointment letters already given, and yes, non of us here has such information. We'll wait towards the end of this month. We pray that we're favoured among others �.

I asked the Tech. Guys about the interview date for Assistant Lecturers, and find bellow the reply of one Mrs Balogun:

With the nature of the test, I don't think a physical interview will be necessary. I may be wrong, this is my honest opinion!

You may be right, but checking of credentials, publications etc is a possibility if physical questions and answers won't be possible. Or, they can get another alternative.

After the test yesterday, I logged in today again and there was no problems except that they said they're on Sunday break. They said the tests will continue tomorrow, for those who have not done theirs. Check your logging details perhaps or they're preventing you from multiple test.

I did my test successfully yesterday. They really did use the webcam to monitor me. Reading the instructions carefully will be useful. Just avoid multiple retest. Please, does any one know the next thing and when? It could be physical interview or checking of originals of credentials. Wishing all of us luck.
