They can't publish it without paying you.

Giving them article is one thing and for them publishing it is another and you can always track your article to see if it has been published ...that is relatively easy.

I think the most thing is to make sure that your article is being published by focusing on important and credible article.

There are many blogs in Nigeria and also out of Nigeria that pays people who writes original content and submit to them for publishing but you must make sure that it is not what you copied from other sites as they will run a plagiarism check on it and if it has zero similarities then your article is good to go.

Another thing to consider is to make sure that your article is line with their niche which means that you don't wrote about sports for a blog that is focus on foods or you don't write about entertainment for blogs focus on business.

You can add the money to your salary or as a student to take care of your daily needs and it will also help you to sharpen your brain and exose your intellect.

Doing business is rewarding and enjoyable whenever u open a new u must be not only b prepared, but you must b focused, disciplined and b ready to think in the opposite direction to solve a problem - you must b ready to take a U turn
preparation, this is must include not making a profit for first 2 years, I once ask an uncle of my why did he have so many different businesses he told me that doing business is like mixed farming an orange tree takes 10 -15 years b4 it produces so why only plant oranges, why not plant corn vegetables etc between the ridges, never expect a new business to feed u or pay the rent.
1. Factored all costs needed for running that business, buy do not rent whenever possible the major cost aspects to run that business e.g. if it is a shop u want to open devise a plan to buy the shop remember the shop itself is an investment on its own.
2. Sort out yur power needs electricity unfortunately is holding Nigeria from developing, the good news is that solar energy represents a very good investment, if you are going to be generating power buy at least two brand new inverter generators, these generators maintain a good constant variable supply of current this adds to the longetivity of yur equipments.
3 Start with a small amount of stock, never over stock this will prevent storage and security problems affecting you, after some time u will get to know how much stock is required over a set period of time.
4. Marketing, spend on marketing yur initial strategy is to carry out a survey of people who sell yur product, I said sell not buy, listen to their misgivings and devise a strategy to make yur product superior, market yur product, get 2 know what kind of people yur customers r, do their use the internet? social media? mobile phones? connect to them, flood them with sms about yur bulk discounts, holiday promotions, events etc
5. Employ a reliable team and reward them 4 their efforts
6. Make use of technological advances in equipment although this is a long term need, employed only when the business is firmly on its feet
These are some of my secrets NL, Nigeria is big enough 4 all to prosper
Very Apt

well i dont know how many countries you v lived in & how many you have started a business in. However, from experience not minding the challenge of electricity depending on what you are going into, Nigeria is still the easiest country to start up a business or SME.

The major problem facing Nigeria small business owners is how to manage finance, PERIOD.

Because it easier to run a business here without being heavily taxed or u even paying tax at all. Many people tend to spend money & prove themselves to be “big“ girls or boys. They end up eating part of their start up capital.

As bad as Nigeria is, it is still better than any other country I have been to.
No country in Europe & Africa can compeet with Nigeria in SMEs. Nigerians are so so enterprising & if we can get some little financial management brain, we will go places.
You are very right. People always find excuses to give and they think that other countries do not have bigger taxes.

Other important things to consider are as follows:

– Brand strategy
– Competitive analysis
– Market trends
– Target Customer group
– Market share
– Customer demographics
– Sales strategy
– Distribution strategy
– E-commerce and technology
– Pricing and positioning
– Advertising and promotions
– Risk Management

To start and run a business, it is not enough just to have a good, viable idea. You also need to have the right skills, attitude and personality to make the enterprise succeed.
Being a manufacturer can be very creative. A lot of us are interested in and challenged by the process of devising, designing and producing.

SWOT Analysis:

Structured planning method used to evaluate the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats involved in a project or in a business venture.

• Strengths:

What advantages does your organization have?
What do you do better than anyone else?
What unique or lowest-cost resources can you draw upon that others can’t?
What do people in your market see as your strengths?
What factors mean that you “get the sale”?

Consider your strengths from both an internal perspective, and from the point of view of your customers and people in your market.

• Weaknesses:

What could you improve?
What should you avoid?
What are people in your market likely to see as weaknesses?
What factors lose you sales?

Consider this from an internal and external basis: Do other people seem to perceive weaknesses that you don’t see?

• Opportunities:

What good opportunities can you spot?
What interesting trends are you aware of?
Changes in technology and markets on both a broad and narrow scale.
Changes in government policy related to your field.

• Threats:

What obstacles do you face?
What are your competitors doing?
Are quality standards or specifications for your job, products or services changing?
Is changing technology threatening your position?
Do you have bad debt or cash-flow problems?
Could any of your weaknesses seriously threaten your business?

Running your Manufacturing Company in Nigeria:

1. MANAGEMENT:

Management is an important aspect of business and many company fail simply because of the way they are managed. As the Owner of the company, it is your duty to set up a great team that will achieve the objectives of the company. You have to build a good team, inspire them to do more, acknowledge their success, avail a better working condition for them, give them task to do with limits, provide the opportunity to them in taking some key decisions, make sure they love what they do and promote them when necessary.

2. FINANCIAL PLAN:

This is another good aspect of business. Hire some good accountants to assist you on this area. Get advice from reliable accountants. Make sure everything is documented and done properly. Regulate their work and access their progress.

3. MARKETING:

Marketing is a good branch of business that is very important in making your products known to the people. Hire people with marketing knowledge who can identify the target market for your product. Create a marketing strategy and share it with them for effective implementation.

Marketing Mix:

The 4cs and 4 ps-

• Consumer wants/needs-VS-Products: – You have to study consumer wants and needs and then attract consumers one by one with something each one wants.

• Cost-VS-Price: – One of the most difficult places to be in the business world is the retailer selling at the lowest price. If you rely strictly on price to compete you are vulnerable to competition – in the long term.

• Convenience-VS-Place: – Place is where the customer meets the salesperson. This may be a retail establishment, the customer’s home or office or some other places.

• Communication-VS-Promotion: – Promotion is the tool that the market uses to inform the population about the product. In order for somebody to know they can get the product from a place for a price, they’ll have to have that product promoted to them in one way or another. Promotion exists in many forms, and it continues to evolve to this day.

Have you ever heard about the sayings that Nigeria is a consumer-driven economy? The Manufacturing sector in Nigeria is currently growing faster than the telecommunications, oil and gas and agricultural sectors. Nigeria’s large population of upwardly mobile consumers, coupled with investments in power, implies that the strong growth of manufacturers, including food producers and breweries, is sustainable. Manufacturers in ….Nigeria had attributed the remarkable increase recorded in capacity utilization within the last year to favorable government policies, especially with respect to industry, trade and investment. Manufacturing in Nigeria also potentially provides you more leverage from your investment of money than many other categories of business. Since you are adding value to raw materials, equipment, and capital costs, you can often be quite profitable.

How to start manufacturing in Nigeria:

Manufacturing can be challenging, but the rewards can be great — both emotionally and financially.
The first and the most important of all is, of course, an idea. I often hear people say, I need to make money and my question is, are you the government? It is absolutely illegal to make money. This idea- that you need to make money to have it – limits you to believing you must trade time for money. Quit thinking about making money and think in terms of collecting it. When you trade something of value with the public you will get money in return. However, if you are interested in how to start your own manufacturing business you most likely already know what you would like to produce. Nevertheless, it is crucial that you are absolutely sure that the product you wish to produce is actually needed. After all, you have to sell your product if you want to succeed. There are no guarantees that people will like your product, however, this is a risk every entrepreneur needs to take.

Things to do first:

• Idea about what to Manufacture
• Research on the products and its target market
• Find the location for your factory and office
• Register your company with the corporate affairs of Nigeria
• Raise funds from Loans, Savings, SMEs funding program, Donations.
• Buy the Machines needed (preferably from India or China).
• Assemble the Machines
• Employ few worker at first
• Start Manufacturing
• Promote your Products
• Sell Your products

REASON WHY NIGERIA IS STILL WHERE WE ARE:

Look at a thread like this, despite being on the front page for a while now, haven't gone past the second page, despite Nairaland users consisting of at least 80% youths

Now compare this with threads that have to do with celebrity gossip or tribal/bigotry rants and we would be at the tenth page in the least now

Zero interest on matters that have to do with hard work and entrepreneurship, but we all want good things to come our way and we'll live like kings, and if GEJ can't make us rich men overnight we 'vote' him out and bring in GMB(messiah/miracle worker), and quote me on this: in four years time when its apparent GMB isn't going to make them rich men overnight, they'll 'vote' him out and bring in another Messiah/miracle worker

Its so embarrassing to the point of excruciating pain, how lazy and unenterprising Nigerian youths are and yet we hope to be a better country in the future?
You are Right Sir.
BusinessRe: Why Many Business Fail In Nigeria And How To Avoid It by wilsonl(op): 6:34pm On Apr 07, 2015
iukpe:
One of the things to clear is what most Nigerian entrepreneurs consider to be a business.

Most Nigerians imagine a business to be a venture where you put money in and get more out of it. Well, the answer to this is YES and NO.
I would say a good business is that venture you put money in when it has a potential to yeild more.

When I started my hospitality business about 2009, I was already into interactive video gaming, Poultry, barbing and hairdressing, retail selling including drinks and foods from 2005 or thereabout.

In all of this, Video gaming wasn't very profitable but I did it with a passion that people admired but I couldn’t grow it into having mature customers over about 15% so the power to improve on pricing was very low. Again this business was very power (electricity) intensive.

I stopped investing in the poultry business because I did not have the time to source for the market for it at the time and suffered some setback in 2005 due to the bird flu scare at the time.

Barbing and hair dressing had to go because what the barbers or hairdressers wanted in order to be dedicated was like a pound of flesh and they were never satisfied. I realized here that businesses that require skilled personnel require a bit of knowledge and just being an investor wasn't enough to sustain the business. You have to be ready to do some hands on and show some know-how.
I set everything down to just a bar and the interactive game business. But still had to put in some money to meet up overheads and it still needed a lot of my own personal skills to solve some real technical issues.

After spending some years working in the oilfield I thought it was time to push things up a bit see if the income could cross over the expenditure line, of course by investing further and giving it more of my time like over 25 times more.

Now its mixed stories, sometimes its good sometimes I just wish I never started in the first place.

With 3 bars, a 24hour kitchen and an 11 room Guest house in a very bad electricity zone, my story as a business man depends on how I want to view it.

When I started, a friend rented a space from me and set up a cyber cafe, he stopped within the first year because of cost and the fact that he wanted the business to make money while he had to mind something else. This is always where most of the concern comes in.

WHO SHOULD TAKE CARE OF YOUR BUSINESS?
I am glad you shared you stories and i can vividly tell you that our story is not far different from other stories that I have got in the past.

Most Nigerians don't understand the meaning of owning a business and being an investor. They often think that both are just business. Another factors is that they want to make huge amount of money in less than 6 months. No No.. Thingd don't work like that.during the start of a business, it takes aproximately about 2 years for some business to turn over and start making profits. This is while most business does not last up to 3 years because the owner wants to be like Aliko Dangote in 2 years. Business is not a get rich quick thing. You have to start small and grow with time.

Hospitality business as a real estate business is very lucrative and capital intensive. The main thing you have to conside when venturing in this business is Location as it plays a very significant role on the success of the business. You can build a guest house in local village and expect people to patronize it when they have a lot to fear.

Another thing is that they start many business at the same time without the history of yet running a succesful business. You have to start with one and concentrate fully on it. When it records hude suuccess that you most have build a team that can take care of it at your absent and you can now move to other business. Don't mix vital things together.

About constant power...Well contant power is very important thing but people often forget that when ever that Nigeria begins to have constant power , the electricity tariif will increasy by 400% or more with government tax of about 10% in it. This is directly proportional to the Generator that people are using now to generate electricity and i don't see it as a big issue. There are many ways to generate electricity.

Another factor is that becaue people have in mind that once they start a business, they will start making money immediately....They forget the possible challenges a business can bring and when they are faced with these challenges, they mostly give up. Let me tell you that Even Google face a more challenge and nearly sell off its company for 1 million dollar in 1999 but they later regain strenght and today is the highest searh engine with the same CEO at the head. It takes patient, critical analysia of the problem and actions to move ahead.

In answering your question...Who should take care of your business?

You are the one to take care of your business. You are the one to build the great team that can represent your idea when you are not around. Don't let any one who has not experience take care of your business. Business is not like driving a car where you crash the car and take it to the workshop. Get experience team to work with. Find a mentor to coah you in business.

Learn new things about your business

Educate your self always so that you can come up with innovative ideas.

I hope this helps Sir.

I wait for your commendation.

Nepa is the main reasons why many business crumble in Nigeria
I don't think you are right.

Give 24 hourss light to many business and avail a loan to them... they will still crumble. Many people have an idea to start a business but no idea on how to run it. Both are very different thing. Running a business is unlike playing a game. Business is about people and people cannot be predicted. You might wake up and discover that most customers now have different preference and it is smart work of your team that can get the customer back and win other customers. Though it is not a rocket science but it is achievable.
