jamex93:abi oh _even my papa wey giv me sef no knw wetin im mean... but i now know it,so...? |
Many a time, people make funny faces and gestures at the mention of my name...dunno why. But the name seems to be ubiquitous to me. We often times have little or no knowledge about what our English name(s) mean, you know English is just a #second language. Perhaps,African parents would'nt have bothered to give their wards names in any language(s) other than theirs, but for the fact that they have a supposed official language spoken in their respective countries or to help people from other parts of the country/world pronounce their names well.(my instincts though). Ask me what 'winifred' means, i will tell you with my eyes closed ... Well,i had to find out what it means when comments like 'ah ah! Wich kin name b dt again?' , 'hmm.wteva' , 'is that your real name' , 'excuse me?' 's'oruko niyen sha?' (so many responses that i've lost count) were made whenever i'm asked for my name. Now, i am a proud bearer of the name 'WINIFRED', my Nigerian names inclusive. Are you proud of what you bear? |
yes it does... |
If u mean WASSCE certificate, definitely, you should go to your alma mater for that. |

Thanks op I think the curative measures are more vast in contrast to the preventive measures Am currently treating malaria,my mum's like my own type of sickness, particularly malaria, scares her and makes her restless _ so she didn't go to her workplace. There was a time she threatened to give me deep and painful marks on my face with razor blade peradventure i were an #abiku , i wouldn't venture to go/die. (i was angry _ thank heavens my dad scolded her...) Well, sleeping under mosquito net is a reliable preventive measure, but people claim that mosquito nets poses great harm to one's skin ... what then is the use? |

Being an #iya-ibeji brings some kinda esteem, like some people don't call my mum by the name of her first child, they'd rather call her mummy ibeji instead of mummy tope... People love twins sha as if dem special. |

I am presently studying microbiology,in my 1st year. I hope to change the course come next session. I would have loved to go for medicine but am not sound enough in biology (the presumed required pre-requisite for studying medicine). However, am best-at-it when it comes to physics and/or mathematics, and i would prefer to change to such course that i can easily cope in. Anything relating to METEOROLOGY is on my mind though. As a honest friend, what would you have me do? I'll appreciate your comments sirs & mas. Thanks |
