Salt Of The Earth
Salt of the earth,
Whenceforth life springs and doesn't cut asunder,
If it weren't for the brine!
Who would i have been?

Light of the world,
You illuminate the darkest paths,
If it weren't for your expressions;
Would I be spectacular?

Flavor of the universe,
Thou hast nurtured me with so much affections,
If it weren't for your tenderness,
Would 'em butterflies ever come alive?

Fluffy and flossy is what i remember of your ebony bosom,
Where I take solace whenever my heart aches,
While you reciprocate with a blossoming smile,
If it weren't for your graciousness,
Would life be meaningful?

Imagine the world without women,
Howbeit, it's going to be a boring and stereotyped one,
For the women are the salt of the earth.

Salt of the earth,
You're God's greatest gift to mankind.

Asikomi ti de (My time is now).

Just when I was about giving up,
When life billows tempest tossed me,
When I presumed the galaxy of celestial be empty,
When I felt my star refused to shine.

Then I heard the sonorous voices of the cherubim and seraphim,
Emanating with compelling conflagration,
Telling me in psalms and hymns that the pendulum rings my time,
That my years of my captivity has been returned.

What a wonderful day,
The day I will never forget,
The day the earth's heliocentric nature became geocentric,
The day the sun rose in the west and set in the east,
The day of my announcement.

My time is now,
My time to bring forth light and shine,
Let the heavens and the earth bear witness,
It's my time to soar.

I've got a melody in my heart,
It's my time to celebrate,
I've been emancipated from internal slavery,
I am a shooting star,
"Asikomi ti de" (my time is now).

Sweet Melody Of Love.
What a divine rhythm,
It keeps my heart beating every second of the day,
It sounds like a 'bata drum',
East wind bring me my dancing shoes,
Cos I want to dance.

The singing melody in my heart is a food unto my soul,
I am filled to the minimum because the tempo of the percussion keeps on rising,
No audience to watch me dance, it's only me and myself,
The more I dance the anxious I become.

Every detail of the beat is been followed by my dance steps,
My spirit attempts to cut the flow but I wouldn't stop dancing,
I know she is also dancing somewhere else.

I know she is also tapping her feet to this awesome melody,
I can hear an aroar of various percussions to which she is dancing to,
It sounds impossible but we are both dancing somewhere, somehow, at the same time,
To the sweet melody of love.

Purple Sky

Under the purple sky,

My heart melts so deep,

Giving room for peace and tranquility,

I feel free from this troubled world.

Above all my anxiety, there's a sign of hope,

How sacred is what I feel now,

Triumph, triumph, victory at last,

The world has no hold over me anymore,

I have peace like a river.

Under the purple sky,

The rest does lie beyond the pole,

Two roses meet to embrace,

Giving themselves away for the purple rain to fall,

One signifies freedom, the other expectations.

Under the purple rain,

I'm wet with purplish moist that soothes my new found hope,

Round and round, I feel joy, I embrace hope.

Under the purple sky,

Here will I remain for life,

Because in here is where I feel free from this troubled world.

Syberia
Oh! What a bad land that lacks synergy,
A land that accommodates many languages tribes and religion but believes she's one,
The land of illusion!

When will the snake stand on its legs?
When will the cat wed the offspring of a mouse?
When will the lion stop eating flesh?
When will the tortoise stop playing tricks?

Arise Syberia! From thy slumber!
Take charge before it is too late,
Or is thy knuckle weak to give corruption a knockout punch?
Or is thy hands short that it cannot embrace change?

Arise Syberia!
For you're the giant of Africa.

Literature › Her Smile. by winsala(op): 2:16pm On Sep 05, 2016
Her Smile
With her smile I overcome every life ordeals,
With her smile mountain reduces to mere stones,
With her smile heavy burdens in my heart are lifted,
With her smile life's worth living.

She looks at my frowned face with a smile, my anger vanishes,
She looks at my disturbed face with a smile, my sadness disappears,
She looks at my anxious face with a smile, my anxiety dematerializes
She looks at my despondent face with a smile, my sadness dissolves.

Then she stops smiling because I don''t reciprocate,
She stops smiling because she thinks it's not mutual,
She stops smiling because she thinks I don't take cognisance of her smile,
She says am filled with melancholy,
"When am I going to see the fullness of teeth",
She stops smiling because she feels pity, compassion and ruth for me.

Oh! My dear, keep on smiling, because out of that oval face brings peace to my soul,
Oh! My love, continue to smile because your smile lightens my world,
Oh! My joy, do not relent with your smile cos it inspires me,
Oh! My everything, don't stop smiling cos your smile is like a balm to my wounded heart.

My first meeting with you, I was captivated by your smile,
Though your smile is from a distance now, do not stop smiling,
Because with your smile I feel secured.

Politics › Cos I Am Waiting. by winsala(op): 2:04pm On Sep 05, 2016
Cos I am still waiting
Even through the times of melancholy, I was waiting,
When we thought no more hope was available, i was waiting,
When there was various secession, I was waiting,
When they came up with various promises & policies I was waiting.

Waking early for the morning radio news, I was waiting,
Or glueing my eyes to the television for the mid-afternoon news, I was waiting,
Sitting in my balcony enjoying the evening breeze scrabbling aggressively on the newspaper, I was waiting.

They promised change, I am still waiting,
They promised transformation, I am still waiting,
They said no more corruption, am still waiting,
They say it is for, by & of the people, I am still waiting.

They go about visiting court rooms and tribunals, forgetting am still waiting,
They wallow in party crusade, fighting for superiority, forgetting am still waiting,
They clamour that change their blue print is only its way, forgetting am still waiting.

Waiting for what?
Waiting for the time Nigeria will change.
