Thank you so much for the encouragement. Mildred25: It's doable. I started learning French from scratch and within 10 months pushed myself to write TCF. It wasn’t easy, but it paid off. I have my pr now. Just dedicate yourself entirely to learning, watch French movies without subtitles, listen to podcasts, find a tutor or study partner, and immerse yourself in the language. It took me 10 months because I was too anxious to write the exam. With upmost dedication 7-8 months is reasonable. |

Hello everyone,
Has anyone here been able to successfully assess work experience with Engineers Australia ? How were you able to provide "Mandatory secondary documents - Employee"
The only acceptable documents are: government issued documents that support the verification of your employment.
either:
1. Acknowledgement or receipt of income tax return lodgement. 2. Superannuation fund statements, social security insurance statement, retirement contribution report, or employee provident fund contribution 3. Work permit and residence permit, including other official government documentation, such as a work contract showing your employment details
I do not pay tax so how can I provide secondary evidence. Anyone with experience on this ? |

amnotapervert: Before 2020, particularly between 2018 and 2019, a CRS score of 481 would have been strong enough to get you into Canada from outside the country. But things have really changed.
1. You will likely need a PNP nomination to boost your CRS score. Look for a province where you meet the requirements for recent PNP draws Civil engineerin is most likely needed just look for who needs it. Things are getting tighter so act quick I cant even keep up with the many PNP rules changes in the last 6 months its crazy.
2. Hope for a STEM-targeted Express Entry draw . In the history of Express Entry since 2015, this has only happened three times, with the most recent one on April 11, 2024. It’s unclear if or when they’ll do it again.
3. Learn French — I know this can be challenging, but it remains a strong option to significantly increase your score and pssibility of called for a French targeted Express Entry draw
Most importantly, keep your Express Entry profile active. With a score of 481, the system could shift, and you might get an invitation when you least expect it. Anybody here gotten a provincial nomination (PNP) for civil engineering before ? |

Mcslize: Good choice if you ask me! The competition in Civil Engineering is so fierce. I was shocked when I saw the numbers of applicants running into thousands of EOIs. My occupation is learning where civil Engineering is in terms of competition.
You will get invite at the speed of light with Construction Project manager if you can get a positive assessment. You won't stay long in the queue.
Of course you can change skill assessment after lodging EOI. Just make sure you withdraw the previous EOI once you get an invite for the construction project manager to give chance to other people when submitting your new one. You are right. Thank you for the feedback. |

You can change your skilled career as much as you want to which ever you believe that you are more qualified in.
It is all about the Benjamins.
If you have the funds, go for it.
My humble 2 cents. Thanks man |

blackbriar: 1. Do you have an assessment from any of Immigrations authorized professional body for Construction Project manager? 2. If you want to assess your degree for Construction Project manager, best to check with VETASSESS and pay the fee as required. 3. If you have close to, and more than 90 points on Civil engineering, why bother? the last invitation round was 90 points for Civil Engineer.
My humble 2 cents. I have already started my skill assessment with vetasses. Civil Engineering degree is actually considered as one of the most relevant and closely related degree required for construction project management skill assessment with vetasses. I think I have a better chance with construction project management and it also closely aligns with my experience. I was just worried if I could change skill assessment after lodging an expression of interest. Note: I didn’t assess my previous civil engineering experience, I only did skill assessment for degree with Engineers Australia |

Hi everyone, please is it possible to switch your occupation on an already submitted expression of interest? I submitted my expression of interest as a civil engineer but I am looking to change to construction project manager. As you know, civil engineering role are very similar with that of construction project manager. I have a civil engineering degree but only assessed my degree without experience with Engineers Australia.
I have prior experience and a construction company which I currently run, I believe I will be better positioned with a construction project management. And besides, most of my role are tailored more to that of a construction project manager. |

Hello guys,
Please what are the chances of a provincial nomination or ITA with a crs scrore of 475. Age = 26, IELTS= (lrws 9,7.5,7,7.5), single, with a masters degree and three years of work experience, NOC = 21300 Civil engineering. If I max out IELTS I will have only 6 points additional (i.e crs of 481). Not sure there is much I can do further from here |

Folasewami: Hello everyone. I am having an issue joining the express entry pool. The status says i am ineligible twice. I am guessing the reason for this is because my spouse hasn’t done ielts. I was thinking i could enter the pool atleast, and then update profile later. My question now is, can i join the pool as a single applicant even though i am married? What is your ielts score. Did you get a minimum of 6.5 in each? That could prevent you from being eligible if you do not have 6.5min across individual scores |

JackTheReaper: I've written both IELTS and PTE Academic. My first IELTS attempt was L8.5 R8 W8 S7. I then wrote PTE and got L90 R86 W90 S69 I then applied for IELTS speaking retake and got 8. My opinion, PTE is more computerised sort of. There are hacks to it, especially the speaking section and it might be easier to get superior. I preferred the IELTS speaking to PTE cos I get to speak to a human examiner, physically or virtually. I'm more composed than when it's just with the PTE computer.
Check YouTube videos on PTE hacks and master it well. You'll definitely achieve it.. What was your IELTS score? Thank you very much for this well detailed response. I really appreciate your help. I believe with my prior experience with IELTS, I could be able to ace the test in another attempt. |

HOMOTOYOSI10: I wrote the PTE academic. I'm not sure I understand what you meant by how I did it. I went back to some of the pages on this thread, and I saw it was possible to write the PTE, I registered for the test 5 days before I took it because I didn't want to overthink it. Okay, thank you for your response. I asked how you did it because I believe it’s kinda difficult to get superior in IELTS. Good to know it’s is doable. I will try PTE |

HOMOTOYOSI10: Good day Sir Tunlex. I did an English test again like you suggested previously, and I have a superior point now. I'm reaching out to ask questions regarding evidence of work experience, because I don't get payslips from my organisation, neither do I have a tax clearance. I already submitted my skills assessment documents, and I'm not sure how I can navigate this. The only proof I currently have is my bank statement. I'm thinking of filing the 4 years backlog of my tax by myself, but I don't know if that makes sense or if it will be valid. Plus I graduated from a four years course at the University of Ilorin, and I would like to know if it's considered a tier 1 or tier 2 institution. I am curious to how you got a superior point for English test. Please was it IELTS ? and how did you do it ? |

mojolajesu: Hello bro,
Did you eventually go through the Washington accord? how did the experience go for you? Yes everything went well. I got a successful assessment as a "Professional Civil Engineer" from Engineers Australia using the Washington Accord route. Initially, after I submitted my assessment, I was told my application will be reversed because my bachelors was only accredited via the Sydney accord and not Washington accord which I used. After some back and forth with them, I was told I have no issues I guess because my masters degree was accredited on the Washington accord pathway. It's best to verify with Engineers Australia if one is not sure about the pathway for assessment because application may be decided on case by case basis rather than using a general formula. You can call Engineers Australia or send them an email if you have any questions. |

Greetings,
Please I have a question. When doing my skill assessment with engineers Australia, I assessed only my degree without assessing my experience. This is because of the additional cost for also assessing experience and also because I only have barely three years of work experience. Please when lodging expression of interests, can I still include my experience even though they were not included and assessed when by Engineers Australia ? |
