blackbriar: It will affect your pathway. Engineers Australia primarily do assessment based on your Bachelors accord. CDR Pathway is the best route for you. Sorry you will need to spend another additional money for CDR Pathway. Please, Please and Please do the relevant experience , that is the only way to prove and get points for Work Expereince should you get ITA. Wow. I wasn’t so sure about the pathway. Fingers crossed. That’s sad to hear. Thanks so much for the information. |

Greetings. I have just submitted my skill assessment with Engineers Australia. I submitted using the Washington Accord pathway. I have a bit of worry though, as I mentioned earlier, my Masters degree falls under Washington Accord, while my Bachelors fall under Sydney accord. I decided to go with the Washington Accord pathway for my assessment. I didn’t include work experience in my assessment, as I only have just about three years of work experience and because of the cost associated with assessing work experience - since I don’t have substantial years of experience, so won’t get much points from experience. Will my pathway choice won’t affect my assessment outcome, because my bachelors degree is Sydney Accord accredited ? |

Hello everyone,
I have a pertinent question. I have two degrees (bachelors and masters). I am assessing my degree with Engineers Australia. There are different pathways (accords) for assessing degree under Engineers Australia. My bachelors degree is accredited by Dublin accord, while my masters degree is accredited by Washington accord. Please which degree should I assess, my bachelors or masters degree? |

Thank you. Both degrees are from the UK actually, does it affect my skill assessment? I am assessing through the Washington accord pathway via Engineers Australia. I already have an IELTS. blackbriar: I am writing based on the assumption that your bachelor's was in Nigeria. Hence, Yes you need to do a Migration Skill Assessment under Engineers Australia. Yes, Civil Engineers and Designers are in demand. Your chances of migrating depends on your point, the higher your point, the higher your chances.
You can use the following for your Career episode; 1. Bachelors Degree Project 2. Masters Degree Project 3. SIWES or, 4. Limited Working Experience.
The chances are very high, but it depends on the quality of your written assessment.
My 2 Cents |

Hi everyone,
I am in the process of doing my skill assessment with Engineers Australia (EA). I am a civil engineer with limited experience (just a bit over one year experience in civil engineering), I have an MSc degree though. I'd done the eligibility check and I got 75 points. I heard Civil Engineers are in high demand in Australia. Please what are my chances of successfully migrating to Australia? Also, do I need to assess my experience alongside my degree with EA? |

That's nice...I guess that ties back to my earlier statement that healthcare and some professions are exceptions. I finished in 2020 in the pandemic, had a degree not so in demand and that was before the lunch of the graduate visa route which gives students some headroom. Prior to Brexit and even now, some employers are still not open to hiring foreign skilled workers. This is why I don't take the UK's labour shortage occupation list seriously, as it does not reflect the reality of getting a job in UK Mindlog: Msc. Clinical Child Psychology, 2022 and got my skilled worker visa while still doing my Msc because my undergrad degree in counselling psychology already gave me the graduate membership of the British Psychological Society which was what was needed for the job then I later switched to another visa sponsor with my Msc qualification, |

Do you me asking what course you studied and when you finished ? Mindlog: You schooled in the UK for both degrees and that should counts for something. I also did my Msc here in the UK and got my 5 years skilled worker visa. |

Mindlog: But civil engineering is in the UK's shortage occupations list. UK's shortage occupation list does not really reflect the reality on ground. Even with the shortage occupation list, employers are not very open to sponsoring applicant from outside the UK. Except you are in the medical line (care worker inclusive), tech, consulting & finance and some other professions, it is unlikely that an employer will sponsor your visa from outside the UK. The main problem is you need a job and sponsor to get a UK visa, unlike the Canada Express Entry |

I had same questions when I was still an undergraduate. At that time, I researched the meaning and found out that it means a degree completed with an element of research work (project). i.e. final year project. If you didn’t do a research or project as part of your course, your degree will have only ‘BSc’ and not ‘BSc (Hons)’ |

Hello House,
I booked an IELTS exam last week (didn't pay) - just reservation. I was looking to pay at the time, but couldn't find my card. Now, I have found an alternative means to pay. I want to book and pay for a new date, but when I log into the portal, there is no option to cancel the old reservation. The portal is demanding I pay for the old unpaid reservation instead. Please how do I go about this? I find this strange to not be able to cancel an unpaid reservation. Seems to me that the reservation system on the portal is a way to coerce people into paying , since you are not able to cancel it on the portal. I don't know, I might be wrong. |

Speaking = 7.5 Listening = 7.5 Writing = 6.5 Reading = 6
Please is this score adequate to create an express entry profile, because I tried checking my eligibility with the above scores but it came back as ineligible. what do you guys think ? |

Thanks for been open, brother. You have been very helpful to everyone here. I guess this is one of the purpose of nairaland forum. I pray I succeed in the application. I have written an SHL test before, but I guess this is going to be a tough one. airsaylongcome: Lol! I knew this question was going to arise. I will just say it was for very personal reasons I cannot go into in such a public forum. But No I did not japa.
While I was there, a number of staff complained about a lack of headroom in the business, so quite a few people got stuck at their levels for long periods. But as they always said, when the alert enter (and it was in millions) your body go calm down.
Looking at the trajectory my career has taken now, I kind of think it was a good thing I left as I have more freedom in terms of what I can and cannot do. I work in the US Telecoms industry now and it's unbelievable what they are able to achieve there with very basic stuff. In NLNG I wold have been in Contracts/Purchasing/Supply Chain. Would I have been happy there doing that? I don't know but I can almost say I am happier doing what I presently do |
