Car TalkRe: 2003-05 Mitsubishi Outlander VS 2004-05 Toyota Corolla by WiseBukoye(m):
@ Ndata, Ops requested for virtually all the information I provided (durability, fuel economy and maintenance). You never can tell he might be using presently a fuel economy car, which makes it tough to adapt to a 2.4L engine. If I've a 3.8L engine Endeavour, I won't see it money wise to drive it as my only car, especially when I do long city drive daily. I would rather get a fuel efficient car to move around town daily and only use my SUV when I need to. Anyway, it's ones choice to save or spend more at the pumps. Cheers!
Car TalkRe: 2003-05 Mitsubishi Outlander VS 2004-05 Toyota Corolla by WiseBukoye(m): 10:37pm On Aug 03, 2012
I've used the 2004 Corolla before selling it off. Its good in fuel economy (1.8L), reliability and non dilapitated roads. Cons are: shocks, very light at high speed (like paper, especially when a truck sped past you), less space and not too elegant. Presently, I own the 2006 Outlander. The fuel consumption is more (2.4L). Its good for highway driving, but quite annoying for city driving with the ac on. The outlander is elegant, calls attention from passersby, also reliable, balanced at high speed and pretty good for Ninja roads. I think the basic difference is you pay more at gas stations, but feel save at high speed and on Nigerian highways. If you ain't misery with PMS, get the Outlander. The maintenance is good either. Best of luck.
Car TalkRe: Land Rover Freelander by WiseBukoye(m): 8:57pm On Aug 03, 2012
@ Bornstar, I thought you said you're riding your freelander for six months now? Just wondering.... why you asked Sienna for which year of the freelander one should buy? Except you're thinking of trade-in or something. Anyway, I pray you enjoy your freelander. You might be among the lucky one. No curse or offense, but I hope you post your experience after a year usage. @ OP, please for you own good and rest of mind, think twice. Its your choice. Anytime I see a freelander, I pray to God to bless the owner very well, so that they don't get to depressed.
Car TalkRe: Land Rover Freelander by WiseBukoye(m): 9:29pm On Aug 02, 2012
The cars were shipped in to Nigeria from the States. They were petrol engines with leather interior. Two were 2001, while mine was 2002. Well, if you read within the lines, Oga Sienna said it all.... 'If you really want the freelander' and his last sentence in his last response. Anyway, it your choice. I'm not an auto guro, though. Best of luck.
Car TalkRe: Land Rover Freelander by WiseBukoye(m): 10:33pm On Aug 01, 2012
My dear, must you buy a freelander? Two of my friends and I bought that car sometimes in 2007. In fact, the one that lasted long ran for 9 months. It finally developed the same overheating story and engine seizure around Ondo town (Lagos-Akure). You will spend your money to no avail, but might be lucky, though. Overheating-engine seizure-gear replacement + other electrical issues. Anyway, it your choice, but be wise. Best of luck.

Car TalkRe: Land Rover Freelander by WiseBukoye(m): 9:34am On Jul 14, 2012
My dear, run for your money and your mind would be at rest. In Nigeria, no competent autotechnicians for the car, except you're in Lagos. The problem often starts with overheating, then gear issues ensues. In fact, you might spend a fortune with no result. Frustration and any price selling off would be the final resolve. What a problematic car!

Car TalkRe: Your Experiences With Nairaland Auto Dealers by WiseBukoye(m): 8:55pm On Jul 03, 2012
Well, may for new or tokunbo cars, nairaland dealers could be trusted. However, when it comes to Naija used, please and please, run 4 ur money. They post lemon on line and call them oranges. If u inspect b4 payment, good 4 u, u're saved. Otherwise, u just got urself an idol (orisa in yoruba) that u shall worship (ta epo si lori) till God saves u.
Really, I made quite a number of futile trips to Lagos, only to be given illogical excuses like I neva knew d Customs papers r fake (after I checked it out), d ac just stopped running dis morning, d other car was sold yesterday (even after informing him I was coming dat morning): pick this one, even if I posted buy and drive, u shld know u wld need to fix sumtins etc to mention a few. In fact, dat lady dealer at Ikeja axis with airtel and mtn no, run 440 when u see her posts. A fair in complexion guy dat talks very soft with sumtin young wld sell u lemon, pretendin he felt it better than what he posted.
A guy once posted a solid car, stating it has auto drive, alloy, factory ac, keyless entry etc. I travelled to Lagos unannounced, call him and requested to see d car. D guy was relunctant initially, but I told him I wld pay at once, if d deal was ok. In fact, d car was nothing compared to what he posted. It was at a mechanic workshop. No water in d radiator, no fluid in d power steerin, clutch and brake, and d car was manual drive. He could start d engine, claiming d mechanic must ve taken d battery out.
My submission, if u're buying a Naija used car, trust cars that r from d actual owner. Go meet them at their workin places and u wld see d car is just d way it was posted on line. People BEWARE. Nairaland dealers eg with name of a former Calabar governor, Donald D...... add d rest, wld post lemon online and hype it over orange. Any used car dey post online would cost sumtin very close to a toks.
If u don't reside in Lag, don't waste ur time making a meaningless trip, becos their Naija used cars r often hyped and r lemons. I rest my case.
AutosRe: Why Is There More 9ja Used Honda Products Resale Than Oda Cars by WiseBukoye(m): 12:00pm On Jun 29, 2012
Baby boy is a good car. I used mine for 2 years plus without issues b4 selling it off. Just maintain ur car very well. Never drain the gear oil completely, except u've d cash to buy d original dextron (imported). U may top up the gear oil is necessary with Oando (Cotonou). D Dr. that bought mine still uses it. D reason for large nos of secondhand for sale is due to the previous craze for d car in Nigeria. Any car can develop issues at anytime. Try to know the history of a car (how many users, what areas that have been worked on etc). In fact, u may ask the seller to take u to d mechanic that fixes the car. Just ensure u care such for ur car and u don't leave it at the mercies of ur MECHANICS and REWIRES. Best of luck.
AutosRe: Pls Help With Transmission Issue On Orobo Camry by WiseBukoye(m): 8:56am On Jun 26, 2012
Very simple. Although, I'm not an automechanic, but you may go scan d car (gear). I presume no codes would be retrieved. If so, just remove d battery d clips 4 at least 6 hours or overnight. It's an electrical error, possibly from d transmission ecu. Pls, don't allow anybody to work or overhaul ur gear o! I did it to my Honda 2007 model and dsame problem disappeared. Best of luck.

Car TalkRe: Senate Slashes Number Plate Price To N8,400, Drivers’ Licence To N4,000 by WiseBukoye(m): 2:40am On Jun 09, 2012
All been said, the government system in Nigeria is in complete disarray. I just registered my new car directly today (Friday) at the licensing office for a whopping sum of 40K. I qouted the 8.4K I heard and the officer said I could try elsewhere, which I did to no avail. In fact, I added 1.5K for the stress of getting the figures I reguested. Please, all these senators reductions are not real, except if they implement them next week. The government is confused. May be we wasted our votes last year? Lets be wise next time!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Cristiano Ronaldo: I'm Better Than Messi by WiseBukoye(m): 9:37am On May 20, 2012
Sorry..................... Ask yourself how long did it take him to do that? How long did it take C. Ronaldo to break R. Madrid one season goal record? And if he stays long in Madrid can't be break R. Madrid all goals record? Messi is good in Barca, but I think he is over hyped.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Cristiano Ronaldo: I'm Better Than Messi by WiseBukoye(m): 9:28am On May 20, 2012
For fairness, I think sentiments should be shelfed. Sincerely, lets ask ourselves, what is the yard stick for the comparison? Is it their achievements and contributions in the ctttlubs (La liga) and or countrysides? I'm not a fan of a fan of both clubs, but lets be fair in our judgement. C. Ronaldo has shown he can fit in an team (Porto, Man U, R. Madrid and his country's team. He has proven to be the main man in all these teams. See the contribution of Y. Toure at M. City, BARCA and Conutry team. What is Messi's role in Argentina team? A key player or onlooker? Portugal is a team to recon with becos of C. RONALDO. Pleas, compare their acheivements within the time C. Ronaldo moved to R. Madrid. Let be sincere, C. Ronaldo is the best. Only Barca would miss Messi if something happens to him, Real and Portugal would crawl if C. Ronaldo varnishes. He might be proud, but he has a good record and reputation. Can Messi fit in any team and be the key man all the way? I doubt that, becos Argentina is nothing with him. Anyway, see what they have both acheived home and away within a record time. If you're saying Messi broke Barca goal record. Ask yourself in how ,an
