Jobs/VacanciesHow To Pas Your Job Interview With A Smashing Success by within9ja(op): 1:38pm On Jan 03, 2015
The phone rings. It’s an HR rep calling from one of the companies you sent your CV to a couple of weeks ago.

She wants to schedule an interview. Congratulations! All the effort you put into crafting the perfect CV has finally paid off. Take a moment to savour your victory. Okay, that’s enough. I said, take a moment, just a moment. Because this is no time for enjoyment or complacency; it is rather time to PREPARE. This is the only opportunity you have to make a good impression and get the job. It feels good to know you made it to sit face-to-face with your prospective employer, but it will feel even better when you walk out of the interview knowing that you killed it and that there is a strong likelihood you will land the job.

The sort of preparations you make in the lead up to the interview are as important as saying the right things during it. If you really want to kill the interview, here are some things you should do:

•Know the company: While it is good to know and understand the requirements of the position you are interviewing for, you must also do your research to learn as much as you can about the company and its key players. Check out the company’s website and any news publications about them. If possible, talk with past and current employees. Has the company achieved anything noteworthy of late? Like having won an industry award or engaged in any corporate responsibility programme that has touched many lives? Or have they opened a new branch? This is all relevant information about the company. Demonstrating that you have a head start learning all you will need to in order to do your job at this company shows the interviewer that you are resourceful, motivated, and ahead of your less knowledgeable peers. And don’t stop at learning as much as you can about the company; learn also as much as you can about whoever will be conducting the interview. Try to gain some insight into their interviewing style. Study their social media profiles to ascertain their sensitive areas so you know which of your skills and experiences to highlight and which to minimize.

•Hold Practice Sessions: After gaining as much information as possible, practice what you will say at the interview. Search online and put together some of the potential questions you may have to answer at the interview. Sit in front of your mirror and practice them aloud or have a trusted friend ask you those questions and rehearse your answers. Your friend can evaluate how well you answer the questions and help you deal with feelings of nervousness. Also, ensure that your resume is updated and have copies of reference letters and certificates in case you are asked to verify anything. You know what you want to communicate in the interview, you have some idea of what they will want to hear, now figure out how to say it all.

•Dress To Kill: How you dress for the interview is also vital to the first impression you make on the employer. What you wear may not be as important as how you answer the interviewer’s questions, but just imagine what impression you give if you dress inappropriately. You do not necessarily have to be in a three-piece suit for a job interview. Really, what you wear depends on the nature of the job. Suits are usually too formal for some jobs, so be guided by what kind of job and position you are interviewing for. Bear in mind too that you are not heading for a fashion show. Therefore, tone down the bright colours. Primary colours like red and yellow won’t do for this occasion because they can draw the interviewer’s attention to your outfit instead of to what you are saying. Stick to neutral, conservative colours like black, gray or brown. If the job you are seeking is in a creative or tech field or an industry where jeans and T-shirts rule, then by all means don your best sneakers for the interview. Whatever the case, remember to make that professional first impression. You can show your fashionable and fun side when you get the job.

Just like getting an interview is no guarantee that you will get the job, doing all these preparations doesn’t guarantee it either. But you give yourself a far better chance of success if you do them as opposed to if you don’t.

And when you sit down across the desk or table from the interviewer or interviewers, please do the following:

Be calm when you speak.

Show enthusiasm for the position you are seeking.

Show interest in and excitement about the company.

Be confident in yourself.

PoliticsPhoto: Mimiko’s Aide Beat Up A Female Worker And The Foolish Reason Behind It by within9ja(op): 8:50am On Jan 03, 2015
https://www.withinnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Funmilayo-Alao-Kwabe-Left-and-Akin-Akinbobola-300x160.jpg
Akin Akinbobola, an aide to Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State, may be in serious trouble after he reportedly assaulted one of his female workers, Funmilayo Alao-Kwabe in his office in Akure, the state capital.

Mr. Akinbobola, who is the chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA), allegedly gave Ms. Funmilayo a brutal beating after the two had a row over salary increment at the agency. The alleged victim heads a maintenance department at the agency.

An eyewitness treported that the ODSFA chair beat his subordinate so severely that he inflicted a serious neck injury on her.

Another source disclosed that the fight originated from the chairman’s sudden decision to increase junior employees’ salaries, adding that he then approved a N2000 increase for Ms. Funmilayo, increasing her salary to N42,000. The source, a staff of the agency, revealed that Ms. Funmilayo considered her pay increase too paltry. “She was infuriated and walked up to the agency chairman to demand an explanation. He got angry and began to beat her brutally,” the source said.

Another source at the agency said the workers felt that Ms. Funmilayo was poorly treated. “Our Chairman [Akinbobola] increased the salaries of the junior casual workers, who were mostly in maintenance department, to N40,000 while that of their head, Mrs. Funmilayo, was increased to N42,000, just N2000 difference. This is what caused the trouble,” he said.

Contacted by a correspondent of SaharaReporters, the alleged assault victim narrated her version of events. She said she was angry about her small increment. After the chairman refused to take her telephone call, she said she sent him a text message asking for an explanation. “He called me after reading my text message and asked for the meaning of the content in the message I sent to him and I told him the meaning. I never knew he had an agenda in mind, he invited me to come over to his office and I went there.

“I got to his office and he started embarrassing me, [asking] why did I send such a message to him. During that process a lady came inside the office and I ordered her out because I was still discussing with him. But the next thing was he slapped me and beat me up. He pulled out some of my hair and nearly snapped off my head and threatened to kill me. During the fracas, he broke my neck and ran away after I collapsed on the floor of his office. I can’t turn my neck [any more].”

Some staffers at the agency alleged that the chairman used to date the alleged victim, adding that he tried to humiliate her because she broke up with him and had spurned all efforts to restart their relationship.

Contacted by a reporter, Mr. Akinbobola denied assaulting Ms. Funmilayo, insisting that she hurt herself while struggling with him. He refused to answer any questions about his alleged romantic relationship with the woman. “It’s a personal issue,” he said, adding, “Please let us end the discussion.”

The aggrieved woman’s lawyer has petitioned the Inspector General of Police over the case.

PoliticsWole Soyinka and Obasanjo Still Exchanging Insult, See Full Insult history by within9ja(op): 8:35am On Jan 02, 2015
https://www.withinnigeria.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Obasanjo-Wole-Soyinka.gif

EX-PRESIDENT Olusegun Obasanjo and Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, are at it again. These two grand old men have been at each others’ throats for years; and it doesn’t look as if their colourful verbal battles will end anytime soon.

Last week, my colleague Emmanuel Aziken, Vanguard’s Political Editor, wrote about their most recent war of words – which revolves around “My Watch”, Obasanjo’s controversial new autobiographical trilogy (it’s the subject of legal action, so not yet widely available). Excerpts from Aziken’s report:

Soyinka gave a rebuttal to former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s latest book…describing it as a narrative by a career liar always determined to crookedly project himself above his true standing among men.

Affirming his general detestation of such men, Soyinka said the Obasanjo brand was compounded by the inclination of even foisting the lies on members of the younger generation.

Obasanjo had in his book flayed Soyinka as a self serving critic who he said always sought to shine out among men claiming, that the Nobel Laureate is a “misfit as a political analyst, commentator or critic.”

Obasanjo-Wole-Soyinka

He had written “For Wole, no one can be good, nor can anything be spot-on politically except that which emanates from him or is ordained by him.”

Continuing his assessment of Soyinka, Obasanjo said: “He is surely a better wine connoisseur and a more successful “aparo” (guinea fowl) hunter than a political critic…,” adding “I take him seriously on almost all issues except on the political particularly Nigerian politics.”

Replying, in a treatise, titled Watch and Pray, Watch and Prey, Soyinka said: “I had fully attuned myself to the fact that our Owu retiree soldier and prolific author is an infliction that those of us who share the same era and nation space must learn to endure. However, it does appear that there is no end to this individual’s capacity for infantile mischief, and for needless, mind-boggling provocations, such as his recent ‘literary’ intrusion on my peace.

Perhaps I ought to interrupt myself here with an apology to some mutual acquaintances – ‘blessed peacemakers’ and all – especially in this season of ‘peace and goodwill to all men’. Please know that your efforts have not been entirely in vain. I had a cordial exchange with Obasanjo over the phone recently – engineered by himself, his ground staff and/or a chance visitor – when I had cause to visit his Presidential Laundromat for the first time ever.

During that exchange, I complimented him on making some quite positive use of landed property that was acquired under morally dubious circumstances, and blatantly developed through a process I denounced as ‘executive extortionism’….

…Our author invokes God tirelessly, without provocation, without necessity and without justification, perhaps preemptively, but does he really believe in such an entity? Does our home-bred Double-O-Seven believe in anything outside his own Omnipotency? Could he possibly have mistaken the Christian exhortation – ‘Watch and Pray’ for his private inclination to Watch and Prey?…

Soyinka goes on to describe Obasanjo as a “Master of Mendacity” and “irredeemable egomaniac” who is heading for “twilight disgrace”.

Obasanjo is also scathingly accused of issuing a “grotesque” statement and “ignoble fabrication”. And so on. And on. And on and on and on!…until we reach the conclusion of this particular diatribe, a gleeful: Chei! There is Death o!”

Talk about an un-merry Christmas message and festive ill will!

Soyinka, being a professional writer and pundit, is the more verbose of the two and has the upper hand when it comes to dishing out abuse with style.

But Obasanjo is no slouch on the insults front. He is also (as President Jonathan has discovered!) pretty skilled at putting people down when they annoy him.

Anyway, I nearly fell off my chair, laughing, when I read about the latest Soyinka/Obasanjo spat. I find the rudeness that they unrepentantly fling at each other hilarious; and I’d like to thank them for providing me with free entertainment at a time when Nigeria is not the most cheerful place on earth.

PoliticsNigerian Army Sacks 203 Soldiers In The Mid Night For Disobeying A Direct Order by within9ja(op): 7:41am On Jan 02, 2015
The Nigerian Army has dismissed 203 soldiers after a secret court martial held in the dead of the night, for allegedly disobeying a direct order from their commanding officer.

According to an online journal, Premium Times, one of the sacked soldiers, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the soldiers were dismissed for asking for support equipment, following the army’s plan to convey them in a tipper for an operation in Bama and Gwoza, two strongholds of Boko Haram insurgents.

The soldier, who is originally of the 19th Battalion in Okitipupa in Ondo State, but attached to the 7th division in Maiduguri, said the army detained them for over 90 days before dismissing them after a mid-night trial. He said they are owed up to five months in unpaid salaries.

Narrating the event that led to their dismissal, the soldier said his unit reconvened in Maiduguri last August, after they were dislodged by the insurgents in Damboa in an operation where their commanding officer and several other soldiers were killed.

He said they were given two weeks pass and that at the expiration of their pass, they were issued new uniforms, boots and 30 rounds of bullets each as opposed to the statutory 60 rounds. And were going to be conveyed in a tipper lorry to Gwoza and Bama for an operation.

He said having engaged the insurgents in several past battles, majority of the soldiers argued that the operation would be fierce, and therefore, requested support equipment.

“So we asked for support weapons. No support weapon was provided. Our Commanding Officer, CO, said he would discuss with the General Officer Commanding, GOC, of the 7 Division at the headquarters. When he came back, he said we should stand down. We thought all was well,” our source said.

But the request made by the soldiers fetched them more than they bargained for.

The next day their new CO, Mohammed A, a lieutenant colonel from 195 battalion, Agenebode, ordered them to submit their weapons and uniforms or be charged with mutiny.

“On the morning of 16 of August, after the GOC briefing, our commander started calling our names and he said anyone whose name is called should submit his uniform and weapon. He added that anyone who failed to do that would be charged for mutiny. We were surprised at what was happening.

“He started from the most senior soldier among us, a warrant officer who had served for almost 30 years. They asked us to go back to the barrack. It is a war zone and our weapons had been taken from us. Staying around was of no use, so we left Maiduguri and went back home.”

FamilyShame - Man Defiled 9-yr-old Daughter, Impregnated Her Elder Sister Earlier by within9ja(op): 8:45am On Dec 31, 2014
BENIN—A 55-year-old man, identified as Osaro, has been arrested by men of the Edo State Police Command for allegedly defiling his nine-year-old daughter.

Osaro, according to his wife, Stella, had earlier impregnated their 17-year-old daughter, just as she told newsmen at the Ogida Police Division, Benin, that she recently returned to her husband’s house after he said he had repented.

She said: “My husband wanted to sleep with my second daughter. He later succeeded in sleeping with my other daughter. After impregnating the girl, he begged me several times to forgive him.

“He started the church I attended and confessed what he had done. The church members begged me and I accepted him. He has already paid my bride price so I went back.

“After we had settled, my husband started with our daughter again. The little girl told me what she was going through in the hands of her father. I asked my husband, but he denied. He said he had stopped the act since he repented.

“One afternoon, I caught him with our daughter. I went to the church and vowed that I cannot continue with the marriage. I am tired of forgiving him all the time.

“On Christmas Day, he drove me outside at about 8 p.m. He was alone inside with the children. The next day, my daughter told me what he did to her. When I decided to check my daughter’s private part, he wanted to beat me, but neighbours intervened.”

The victim asked police to jail her father.

Following reports Tuesday, that Cameroonian air force jets on Monday launched air strikes on scores of Boko Haram terrorists who occupied a military base in Northern Cameroon and bombed them on the Nigerian side, the Defence Headquarters said yesterday that no foreign air force aircraft launched any airstrike on Nigeria’s territory.

Rather, DHQ in a post on its twitter handle, disclosed that the air strikes that killed Boko Haram terrorists in the said confrontation at the Nigerian divide of the border town with Cameroon was carried out by Nigerian Airforce fighter aircraft.

Army-warIt said it will investigate the source of the information claiming that the air strikes were carried out by a foreign air force.

Cameroon’s minister of information, Issa Tchiroma had in a statement, said the coordinated assaults on five towns and villages showed a change in tactics by Boko Haram fighters, adding that the group’s campaign to carve out an Islamic Caliphate has spread from North East Nigeria to neighbouring Cameroon.

He added that President Paul Biya ordered air strikes to flush out Boko Haram terrorists’ from Northern Cameroon.

However, Defence Spokesman, Major General Chris Olukolade said, “Ongoing highly Coordinated Air operation is being conducted by the Nigeria Air force. No indication of any Foreign Force engaging in any part of Nigeria. We will investigate claims of Airstrikes by a Foreign Force on our Soil. This serves to satisfy peddlers of strange claims and stories”

Continuing, Olukolade asked, “What could be the motive of Foreign Media outfits peddling false/exaggerated claims of a neighboring Army’s exploits on Nigerian soil?”

“Okafor, 25, was caught with 13.735kg cocaine in tin food; Okeke, 29, was arrested with 3.425kg cocaine absorbed in towels; Akpobome, 32, was found with 1.730kg of cocaine absorbed in T-shirt; Ani, 37, was found with 300 grammes of cocaine; Madububa, 38, ingested 845 grammes of cocaine; Amuka, 26, ingested 1.505kg cocaine, while Ijoganu, 25, ingested 1.240kg of cocaine.

“Others include Obiefuna, 40, who was found with 500 grammes of cocaine; Ogbodu, 48, was caught with 1.650kg of cocaine; Nwakama, 32, was caught with 1.060kg of cocaine; Egbueme, 31, was found with 1.190kg of cocaine; Nwachukwu, 38, was found with 975 grammes of heroin/cocaine; Adebayo, 30, was caught with 5kg of cannabis and Oforegbu was caught with 505 grammes of cocaine.”

Christmas money

During investigation, some of the suspects reportedly told operatives that they went into the business to raise money to celebrate Christmas and New year.

For instance, Akpobome said that he was promised N2 million if he succeeded in smuggling 1.730kg of cocaine absorbed in a T-shirt from Argentina to Nigeria.

Okafor said he was promised N10 million, while Nwakama said he would have been paid over N1 million had the trip not been botched.

Okafor, alleged to have been arrested with the largest quantity of drugs which was concealed inside tin foods, said: “I was tempted into drug trafficking because I had no one to help me financially.

“I travelled to Brazil a year ago in search of job. But I ended up hawking toys in Brazil to sustain myself. Along the line, a friend promised to pay for my ticket to Nigeria to spend the end of year festive season.

“He was the person that gave me the drugs packed inside tin foods. I agreed because the amount will assist in no little means to celebrate Christmas.”

Divine intervention

On his part, Egbueme described his arrest as divine after he was told that the offence of drug trafficking in his destination country attracts capital punishment.

According to him, “I used to sell used amplifiers in Abuja, until I met a former secondary school classmate, who currently lives in Tanzania. He sent the drugs to me and assisted me with my travel documents and other expenses.

“I ingested 55 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.190kg. I had no idea of the punishment for drug traffickers in Hong Kong until I was arrested.

“God has rescued me from death and I will never smuggle drugs again in my life.”

Describing the arrest and seizures as a good way to end the year, Chief Executive of NDLEA, Ahmadu Giade assured that the agency will continue to detect hidden drugs and prosecute offenders, adding that the suspects would be charged to court soon.

PoliticsNigeria Will Be Tough Politically 2015 – Jonathan by within9ja(op): 8:23am On Dec 29, 2014
IN clear terms, President Goodluck Jonathan, yesterday, previewed 2015 politically and economically and returned a grim verdict: It may be a turbulent year and there is need for Nigerians to pray.

Speaking at the Christ Apostolic Church, Area I, Durumi, Abuja where he joined other worshippers for the last Sunday service of the year, President Jonathan specifically enjoined religious leaders to pray to God to guide him and other politicians in the country aright so that they will not set the country ablaze through their utterances.

On the drop in the price of crude oil, Nigeria’s main foreign revenue earner, Jonathan admitted that the trend will “affect us in one way or the other” but promised that “the economic team is working very hard to stabilise it and we believe that although there may be temporary inconveniences, it will definitely not bring the economy down.”

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate reiterated that the ambition of anybody in the country was not worth the blood of any Nigerian.

The president spoke on a day Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State urged him and Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential standard bearer, to sign a peace accord for the forthcoming general elections.

A tempting year

According to the president, for every office in the country, there are a thousand and one Nigerians who are qualified to occupy such office, so no politician should think that he is the only qualified person for the office.

His words: “Next year is a tempting year for us. Election year in Third World countries is always a turbulent year with all kinds of predictions. I, however, believe that God who brought us to this level will see us through.

“All that I will request of you is to continue to pray for us politicians, myself and other politicians from all political parties, for God to guide us in our utterances and what we do so that we will not sacrifice the lives of Nigerians because of our ambitions.

“Nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. Pray to God to give us that wisdom and mind to make sure we conduct ourselves in a way that will not set the country ablaze because of our personal ambitions.

“There are so many good Nigerians that can hold the offices we are occupying or aspiring to occupy, it is by privilege of God that we are here in positions to ask for the mandates of Nigerians.

“None of us should begin to think that he is the best person to be anywhere from state houses of assembly to the Presidency. There are a thousand and one Nigerians that are super qualified more than those people who are even aspiring to occupy offices.

“Pray for us that God should give us the wisdom to conduct ourselves in a manner that at the end of the day, this country will triumph.”

Essence of leadership

Emphasising that the essence of leadership is to serve the country and its people, Jonathan said any person seeking to lead would not encourage the killing of people he seeks to lead or the destruction of their property.

He said: “The development of Nigeria is what all of us want. If every aspirant has the mind to develop the people, then you do not need to kill or maim people to get there. You do not need to kill the people you want to develop in order to get to the office you want except if you are aspiring for that office for a different reason.

“If the idea is to help the people, grow the economy and make the people happy, you won’t want to kill, you won’t want to maim or burn down houses, vehicles and property.”

Nigeria’s challenges

Acknowledging that the country is under going a lot of challenges, the president hoped that the country would overcome the challenges.

“We are facing a lot of challenges now as a nation. The challenges did not start today but somehow, instead of abating, the problems started increasing for one reason or the other. But I am convinced that it would have been worse than this but for your prayers. With the prayers you continue to offer to God, God will see us through,” he said.

Jonathan also acknowledged that Nigeria, as a nation, had not reached where it ought to be, saying his administration had put in place policy measures that will begin to bear fruits in the next four or five years and change the face of the country.

He said: “Those who are taking pains to look at what we are doing will agree with us that if we progress as a nation steadily in this manner, in the next four or five years, this country will be a better place.

“Only a few days back, the Vice President was in Port Harcourt to flag off the Eastern railway. The Western one moving from Lagos to Kano has been running. We will start using the modern one from Kaduna to Abuja by the first quarter of next year and the one from Port Harcourt.

“We relied on agriculture before the oil boom or doom and all that died. We are reviving it and the whole world has appreciated that we are moving forward in agriculture. When they start something, people do not see the benefits immediately. We know that as a nation, we have a lot of challenges in terms of getting jobs for our young graduates and we have set up a lot of programmes that can create job opportunities for our young men. The result may not be obvious immediately but God willing, job opportunities will continue to increase and many more young people will be engaged.”

We’ll work hard to make polls violence-free — APC

However, the APC has assured Nigerians and the international community that it will do all in its power to make sure that the 2015 general elections are violence-free, saying the rising apprehension about the polls among the populace is inimical to the conduct of a successful election.

In a statement issued in Lagos, yesterday, by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party said its efforts should be complemented by the PDP-led Federal Government, which has a propensity for using the security agencies to harass and intimidate the opposition and ordinary citizens.

It also said the Federal Government should take necessary measures to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible, since rigging and other acts of electoral malfeasance constitute the immediate trigger for anger and violence during and after elections.

It said: ”We have heard from Nigerians who are so afraid about possible violence during the forthcoming elections that they are even willing to relocate to other countries until after the elections. But, as the biggest opposition party in Nigeria and a major stakeholder in our nation’s democracy, we are assuring, on our part, that there will be no violence.

”Though our party has no history of violence, we have commenced a nationwide effort to sensitise our members and supporters to the need to eschew rancour and embrace non-violent methods, even in the face of the kind of provocations to which we were subjected during the Ekiti and Osun governorship elections, when our members were needlessly harassed, arrested and detained by partisan security agencies acting under orders from the Federal Government.

”If the Federal Government allows a level playing field for all contestants, if the security agencies stop acting as the armed wing of the ruling PDP, if the electoral umpire will carry out its duties without fear, favour or bias and if citizens are allowed to exercise their franchise unmolested, the stage will be set for a non-violent, free, fair and credible polls. In other words, the government has a major role to play in making the forthcoming polls peaceful.

”On our part, in addition to other efforts aimed at ensuring a peaceful election, we pledge to accept the result of an election that is not only free, fair, credible and transparent, but one that is also seen to be so. We hope other parties will make a similar pledge.”

The party said it demonstrated, during its recent rancour-free and festive national convention in Lagos, that elections should be a celebration of democracy, rather than a moment of fear, violence and threat to lives.

It said far from mere rhetoric, it had taken practical steps, as far back as May 2014, to work with the PDP to ensure violence-free polls in 2015.

APC said: ”Following up on a meeting of representatives of both parties in Washington, DC, US, April 7-8 2014 under the auspices of the CSIS Nigeria Election Forum, at which it was agreed that a joint meeting of both parties be convened to discuss and agree on the crucial issue of a Code of Conduct for the campaigns and the elections, we wrote a letter to the PDP suggesting a bipartisan meeting to address the issue.

”The PDP agreed to the proposal and suggested that it should be expanded to include the leadership of other political parties in the country. However, problem with logistics meant that the meeting did not hold.

”Even with the little time left for the election to hold, we strongly believe that a meeting of the leadership of the two political parties, the APC and the PDP, will send a powerful message to our compatriots and indeed the international community and douse the tension that is building up ahead of the election.”

Jonathan, Buhari should sign peace accord — Lamido

In like manner, Governor Lamido advised Jonathan and Buhari to sign a peace pact on 2015 election.
The governor made the clarion appeal in Dutse, weekend, while formally launching campaigns for all PDP aspirants of the state at Aminu Kano Triangle.

Stressing that Nigerians are over-stretched and should not be victims of political violence again, Lamido said the two candidates should sign that in case anyone of them lost 2015 general election, his followers will not throw the country into anarchy and should anyone fail to keep the pact, he will be liable on conviction.

His words: “Nigeria and Nigerians are over-stretched and tired of political crisis, they are saying they can no longer tolerate any political unrest because of the interest of two persons. I want General Buhari (retd) and President Jonathan to commit themselves in writing in case there is crisis in any part of the country after the presidential elections.”

Lamido said the 2007 post-election crises which claimed many lives and property should serve as a lesson.

On Clark and Asari-Dokubo

The governor further expressed concern over unguarded and inciting utterances from people like elder statesman, Chief Edwin Clark and Alhaji Mujahideen Dokubo Asari, saying their utterances were threatening the corporate existence of Nigeria and the peace and security of the nation.

“On many occasions, when Clark or Dokubo talked, they threatened that if President Jonathan did not win 2015 presidential election, Nigeria will break, and they always regard Northerners as parasites.

“Let me warn that nobody will intimidate us no matter the position he is holding or his influence in the society. Our people have been killed, our economy has been destroyed, we have been pushed to the wall. Whoever touches us again, we shall march and dare him, to protect our interest and our region.”

I am still laughing, read on ……

Two guys raped a princess, and when they
were caught and sent to
the king, he ordered them
to go and bring as many fruits as they can to bail themselves. The
first guy went and
returned with 15 mangoes.
The king ordered his
guards to insert all the mangoes into his anus so
he would feel the same pain as the princess. The
guards did as they were
ordered and the guy
screamed and shouted in pain.
After sometime, he
stopped screaming and shouting and started
laughing.

The guards then
became surprised and
asked him why he was laughing despite all the
pains. The guy pointed to
the road and said, LOOK
AT MY FRIEND, HE IS
BRINGING 30
WATERMELONS.
