CrimeRe: Man Sends Wife Packing For Moaning While Being Raped By Robbers In Lagos by Wittgenstein: 8:09pm On Jun 20, 2017
If you were to be pinned down and forcefully tickled against your will, you would laugh regardless. now apply that to the topic. There is no point in pilling further misery upon the abused individual. The initial humiliation they must feel is being worsened by someone who has vowed to support her.
Christianity EtcRe: El-rufai Moves To Regulate Religious Preaching In Kaduna by Wittgenstein: 3:54pm On Feb 22, 2016
A clear rational understanding of each others religion would help dissolute issues such as this.

The main trends arising from this topic/feed are insults and mockery of others faith's without a clear understanding of them.

Unprejudiced and impartial religious education should be proposed at our institutions (high school) and included in curriculums focusing on educating society about the different faith's, religions and cultures that are practised within the country.

This will help build a better understanding within the country reduce faith extremism, and open the way for progressive understanding within the country.

My fear and the question is are we past that. Are we now just too ignorant, to accept that such is needed in our society.

would the muslim parents be happy for their child to receive basic religious knowledge of christianity, judaism and other faiths practised in the country.

Like wise would the christian parent accept that their child is equally provided with this education.

The goal is not to convert or alter anyones faith, but rather to educate in other to build understanding which would help create better communities.
PoliticsRe: Soldier Batters Driver In Lagos For Sneering At Him (photo) by Wittgenstein: 3:29pm On Feb 18, 2016
The system needs to look at how it reintegrates military personel who have served their nation, back into society. The mentally required to be exhibited in places of conflict are not necessarily welcome in aa general cilvilian society.

As a soldier, the actions he would have carried out, may have pshycological scared him, hence his quote without proper reason

“Who does he think he is? I will kill him and nobody will query me. I have killed many people who are older than this idiot (Olaniyi) in the past and nobody queried me for that"

The soldier is wrong with his actions, but this is not the first case of this occurring. It is common place to see military personnel flaunting excessively in the midst of civilians, maltreating civilians with a military mindset.

A man who has seen his comrade killed, and has equally killed, would not reason as the common civilian, hence means should be sought to help cater for our military personnel (Psychologically) and integrate them properly into civil society.
FamilyRe: Woman Strips Her 9-Year-Old Son For Stealing N5000 In Delta (Photo) by Wittgenstein:
Questions, should be asked about the initial parenting technique used by the parents which lead the child to steal, a child does not decide to carry out such actions spontaneously.
What type of relationship will that child have with his mother, as the humiliation cannot be undone. It will scar him over a long period of his life potentially disrupting his development, affecting his general levels of confidence, and the relationship he will build up with his peers. the child may begin to harbour feelings of hatred towards his mother.

some of these factors could lead to the child becoming more isolated as he grows up, leading him to follow the wrong crowd, commit minor/major atrocities and also he would do this being discrete from family members as he recalls, how unruly he was punished for stealing at a young age.

you bring up a child well, they would have no such reason to steal (especially such an amount)
The mother is also indirectly humiliating herself, despite she thinking she is punishing the child.
HealthRe: How Under-graduate Died During Abortion(pictured)- The Vanguard by Wittgenstein: 2:21pm On Dec 11, 2015
The failure and fear of providing adequate sex education results in situations like this. Why do we absorb the blame on just the girl and fail to recognise the role her male counterpart had to play in this. "It does take 2 to tango"

Institutions, families and certain religious bodies provide sexual education through fear as that is what is accepted by our communities. They should rather look to provide an understanding relationship with the youth they are trying to educate, review the society we currently are in and provide knowledge in an intellectually informed manner to which can be appreciated by them.
EducationWhy Can’t You Get The Job? by Wittgenstein(op): 10:45pm On Nov 24, 2015
The complaint level from recent graduates, about their inability to obtain jobs, or progress to at least an interview stage has been overwhelming. People are not able to fathom reasons for being stuck in this plight and their failure in attaining gainful employment.

There are reasons such as the demand and supply not matching up and with our rapidly growing population, there just isn’t enough available jobs. A key reason equally attributed is the Low levels of Digital Literacy amongst students and graduates within the nation.

Information technology has been growing at an insurmountable rate, and recent studies has shown in sub-Saharan African countries 80% of jobs would require at least a basic level of Digital Literacy within the next 5 years.

At the exponential rate at which information technology is advancing, there is the fear of being left behind, and employers cannot be blamed for wanting to keep up with the advancing trend hence they require you to have attained a certain level of digital literacy. As a job seeker, not being fully equipped by at least an accredited certificate confirming your degree of computer literacy could be a hindrance in the current competitive job market.

The Nigerian government plans to have all its services digitised by the year 2023, at the moment only 25 % of its services are. The question being raised is will the nation be adequately prepared by the year 2023 and would it be fully adapted within the time frame. Reasons being the current digital illiteracy predicament within the country is overwhelming, with a large proportion of the population trapped in the digital illiteracy syndrome.

The previous administration set up initiatives with the aim of tackling the problem and looking into solutions to help prepare the populace and future workforce. The current government and institutions are continuing this work whilst currently looking at alternative means at which they might address this problem.

Currently research is being carried out to help gain further detailed insight into digital illiteracy levels within the nation. Results are being sought to find out whether Nigerians have the skills required to cope and be eminent in our rapidly digitising world. A copy of the survey is provided bellow
