Osama and Omar bin Laden
The al-Qaeda leader and terrorist mastermind
fathered at least 20 children, and by far the most
public of them has been Omar, the fourth-eldest.
In his book, Growing Up bin Laden , he details a
childhood spent in survivalist training and
punctuated by regular beatings. It took him time
to accept that his father was indeed behind the
9/11 attacks, but once he did, he devoted
himself to peace even though he had been
groomed for jihad.

12. Adolf Hitler and Jean-Marie Loret
It’s true that Hitler and Eva Braun never had any
children, and for the longest time, that was the
sum of it. However, in the early ’80s a French
man named Jean-Marie Loret claimed that he
was, in fact, Hitler’s son, the product of a “tipsy”
evening in 1917 after the young German soldier
hit it off with a French teenager. On her death
bed, Jean-Marie’s mother told him the story of
how they’d met. Hitler never acknowledged a son,
but some of his paintings were discovered
among her possessions, and German army
documents show deliveries of cash to her. We’ll
never have DNA, but the evidence suggests Jean-
Marie was indeed Hitler’s son.

11. Emperor Hirohito and Akihito
Historians disagree on the degree to which
Emperor Hirohito made decisions during Japan’s
war with China and World War II. However, he
was ultimately the one in charge, sitting on the
throne, when Japanese forces committed
countless atrocities, especially against the
Chinese people. Japan turned its act around
after the war and under Hirohito’s rule became
the second largest economy in the world at the
time of his death. Emperor Akihito succeeded his
father and hasn’t courted anywhere near the
controversy of Hirohito.

10. IDI AMIN AND FAISAL WANGITA
Between human rights abuses, summary
executions, corruption, economic
mismanagement, and all-around
persecution, Ugandan dictator Idi Amin
is thought to be responsible for 100,000
to 500,000 deaths. He wasn’t much
better in private life as a polygamist —
three of his wives later fled the country
— and couldn’t have been a good father
to his estimated 40 kids. At least one has
shown violent tendencies: Faisal
Wangita was sentenced to five years in
prison in Britain for taking part in a
beating death, and was arrested a
second time after a gang beating before
being deported to Uganda.

9. MUAMMAR AND MUTASSIM GADDAFI
The slippery Libyan strongman and his
family lived in luxury while the Libyan
people suffered. Mutassim, Gaddafi’s
youngest son, tried to follow his father’s
political ambitions and served as the
country’s national security advisor. In
his youth, Mutassim spent lavishly on
parties and reportedly paid to have
Beyonce and Mariah Carey perform for
him personally. The loyal Mutassim died
along with Gaddafi after the 2011
uprising, shot by rebels.

8. SADDAM AND UDAY HUSSEIN
The apple didn’t fall far from the tree in
Saddam’s family. Saddam used mustard
gas on his own people and did much
worse to his enemies and opponents.
And yet Uday was quite possibly even
worse than Saddam, prone to
spontaneous outbursts of violence and
calculated cruelty, becoming the most
hated man in Iraq. Even though no
weapons of mass destruction were ever
found after the invasion, the world
wasn’t sad to see the end of Saddam and
Uday.

7. TEODORO OBIANG NGUEMA MBASOGO AND
TEODORO OBIANG MANGUE
Tiny Equatorial Guinea, population
740,000, is home to Africa’s longest-
serving ruler, Obiang Nguema, who
seized power from his uncle in 1979.
Although Equatorial Guinea struck oil
and has the highest per capita GDP in
Africa, little of the oil revenues have
made it into public development,
instead landing in the pockets of the
Obiang family. Mangue, Mbasogo’s son,
has been forced to give up more than
$30 million in assets, including a
California mansion, and the family has
been under investigation for corruption
and money laundering. Fun fact:
Mangue used his subjects’ money to buy
Michael Jackson’s crystal glove !

5. MAO ZEDONG AND LI NA
Chairman Mao’s Communist legacy lives
on in China in spite of the tragic
blunders of his leadership during the
Great Leap Forward — a man-made
famine that killed an estimated 40
million people — and the Cultural
Revolution that decimated China’s
economy and intellectual community.
His youngest daughter, Li Na, worked
for the Chinese military’s newspaper,
the PLA Daily, and, no surprise, is a
high-ranking member of the Communist
Party.

4. BENITO AND EDDA MUSSOLINI
Italian strongman Benito Mussolini
ruled his country with an iron fist, but
couldn’t control his daughter, Edda. She
had a rough marriage to Count Galeazzo
Ciano, who served as Mussolini’s
Minister of Foreign Affairs until he
voted against Mussolini and was
executed for treason. Edda fled to
Switzerland with her husband’s diaries
and hid in a convent before returning
to Italy after the war, where she was
imprisoned for two years for aiding
fascism. Edda died in Rome in 1995.

3. KING LEOPOLD II OF BELGIUM AND
STEPHANIE
King Leopold II might be the worst thing
that ever happened to Africa. At least,
he was awful for the Congo, where his
colonial efforts brought great fortunes to
Belgium and great suffering to the
Congolese people. Although it’s difficult
to say now just how many died from
Leopold’s brutal human rights abuses
and forced labor, the best estimates put
the death toll at about 10 million. He
had four legitimate children; his only
son died at 10, and his three daughters
married a who’s who of European
nobility: his eldest daughter Louise
married Prince Philipp of Saxe-Coburg
and Gotha, Stephanie married Crown
Prince Rudolf of Austria, and his
youngest daughter, Clémentine, married
the head of the Bonaparte family.

2. POL POT AND SAR PATCHATA
Pol Pot devastated his country of
Cambodia as leader of the genocidal
Khmer Rouge in the 1970s. His daughter
Sar is well adjusted, considering; she
graduated with a master’s degree in
English literature and recently
got married .

1. KIM JONG-IL AND KIM JONG-UN
Kim Jong-il took over the family cult of
personality in North Korea when his
father died and made a bad situation
for the North Korean people even worse.
The Hermit Kingdom is home to horrible
human rights abuses and forced labor
camps, the people have no power, and
all opposition is brutally repressed. It
seems like Kim Jong-un is more than
happy to take the reigns from his father
and threaten the world with nuclear
tests.

A part of the popular Ogun River
which flows under the Kara Bridge
around Ojodu Berger area of Lagos
State suddenly and shockingly
turned dry today June 18th.
The Kara cattle market community
under the bridge along the Lagos-
Ibadan expressway has become a
Mecca of some sort as people
besieged the community to see the
dried section of the river which
once provided water for the Kara
cattle and ram market.
Residents of the area say they woke
up this morning to see the river
which served as one of their means
of transportation where canoes
were used to reach the dense
waters, totally dry and it wasn’t
like that the day before.
The surface of the water had
become firm and people can now
stand on the portion of the river.
What do you guys think happened?
