The campaign organisation of the governorship candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria in Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, has faulted Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, for turning down an invitation to take part in a governorship debate being organised by a private radio station, Splash FM.

A statement by Mr. Tunde Muraina on behalf of the organisation in Ibadan on Sunday, wondered why any candidate would decide to shun the debate which is an avenue for all governorship candidates in the state to sell their programmes to the electorate.

The organisation noted that the debate would afford the candidates the opportunity to analyse their programmes with a view to allowing the electorate pick their preferred candidate.

The statement read, “We read with dismay the media report credited to one of the aides of Governor Alao-Akala, who is the PDP governorship candidate in the state that he might not come for the debate because he (governor) was not consulted before picking the date.

“We are not surprised because we have it on good authority that he will not come. This has further proven our point that Alao-Akala is not fit to be the governor of the state.

“The debate is an avenue to tell the people why he deserves a second term in office but he does not have anything to show.

“Alao-Akala should come and tell the people how he has been spending the allocations given to the state. This construction by deception must stop. He should come forward to explain the gains of his globetrotting and his self acclaimed achievements to the electorate.

“We challenge him and other candidates to come forward to defend their programmes for the citizens. The debate clashed with some of our scheduled programmes but we had to reschedule them because our party has citizens’ welfare-oriented manifesto and our candidate is ready to implement it.

“We believe debate is part of campaign and sparing two to three hours will not be too much.

“If Alao-Akala and others think the date is not suitable, they should meet the organisers and fix another date. We believe the organisers will give him the opportunity.”

The governor, through his Special Adviser on Public Communications, Mr. Dotun Oyelade, had on Saturday said he would not participate in the debate because apart from clashing with his campaign schedule, which had been planned and accepted by stakeholders, the date was also decided unilaterally by the organisers without any input from his campaign organisation.

What the minister however meant is that GEJ introduced many Nigerian politicians and public office seekers to the social networking site as a plot through which they can have access to a bulk of the youth population.

I dont blame people that mis-interpreted the minister's statement, the guy is as incoherent as GEJ, remember wat happens any time GEJ gives a major speech, people will always come to explain what he means. They are never able to coherently express their thoughts.

but one thing u should understand is that most times a team style of play as a whole, influences some certain players,
y do u think german players esp strikers dont do well 4 their clubs,
any sensibl striker wil fit into the german's counter attack style

watch football and forget stat,
take spain 4 example, due to their present style of play, spanish strikers must b very patient b4 they can get the ball,the build up is real slow, and thats the reason they dont score more than two goals most times, (aw many times do u see villa wit d ball, and aw many times has he scored as a lone striker in this tornament)

Both the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry are noted for high quality, affordability, refinement, and durability. The Accord is the sleeker of the two, although the Camry Solara, the coupe version of the Toyota, is sportier than its sedan stable mate.
