I called up one of the directors of NUC some days back before the banned on online courses by the so-called NUC, name withheld 'he said Nigeria does not have the right to the universities outside its shores, but to be on safe side before you attend a UNI online abroad, check if the uni is accredited in their own country and if the have the license to operate as an online university these are some of the things you put into consideration he told me, There are legit and even not very expensive online universites out there and so many Nigerians are taking online courses in some of this school and some of them work offshore and offshore facilities are multi national companies, some of them are registered with WHO,U.N and accredited in their home country. So what are we saying Wish mod can take this to front page for more contribution. |
Rather than condemn you for such a weak comment, I will educate you instead. Awolowo got his first degree from the prestigious University of London as a distance learning student. He never went to London for his first degree. Internet only came to enhance it. Without internet, I would not be able to know that there are still ignorant people that follow old professors and their archaic mentality like this. Majority of the schools that offer online colleges in the US and at least 40 years older than the first University in Nigeria (I mean the University College Ibadan- now UI). The kind of accreditation they have, no Nigerian university may have it in the near term if they continue to remain under the old men of NUC. I will give you an example. AACSB is the global standard for courses in the College of Business and Accounting. Please type AACSB accredited universities and search for any university in Nigeria there. Find out which University in Nigeria has it apart from LBS that made recent attempt to pursue it for their MBA course. If the likes of Harvard, Stanford, West Texas, Kaplan, Phoenix, Liverpool in the UK, Princeton, and the entire Ivy-league universities in America are offering online degrees, you can see how backward Nigeria is. A few people are good though, but the sort out their destiny through personal effort. The good teachers in Nigeria are handicapped and held back bu the lack of innovation in NUC and they are stock in old curriculum. Please copy your comment and save it for the future. After your eyes open later you will be ashamed that you made that comment. |
you dey sell pure water abi Most of them are scams !!! Shut up[/quote] |
horlanray:Standardizing rubbish....your cerfticates here cant even get you job abroad |
This country is so f****d up i have been hearing it,am just seeing it now..... How will your citizens not go abroad and leave their cursed country and their leaders....who keep smoking w**d before they come to work, after smoking they get up and make any law they want because they know their children are not in Nigeria. We the youths need to wake up and stop our leaders from throwing whatever the like in our faces, the last time i checked we are in the 21st century, One day NCC will wake up and say they have Banned the use of internet services in Nigeria....... Our country is so so failed. |
boboLIL:You will keep leaving in stone age and thinking backwards no hard feelings tho. The best universities in the world which Nigeria didn't even make the 1000 list, most of them offer online courses. You are in a country that does not guarantee you of a job when you go back to study in their so-called uni here, they will suffer you and stress you and you come and start walking from office to office to look for job, They should create an appropriate channel where by students have to meet a requirement before they will given permission to attend online schools. |
nairalandist:my bro am telling you, they send their children abroad and what us to stay here and suffer, the house of reps should better look into this matter oooo |
Help me ask them, prof my foot, they themselves in the NUC got their degrees online like masters and what have you. blackpanda: |
we will always be backward in Nigeria, In this modern age ?You tell people not to get degrees online, hmmminstead of them putting a mechanism in place to ensure that students would need to verify from you(NUC) before applying for such universities. Which kind of country is this self? You don't create an enabling environment for your students to study and yet you tell them not to study Abroad, Woo unto NUC, I don't even know what they regulating self, You are telling people not take online degrees,or upgrade their certificates online, There is no job security in NIGERIA,online school allows you to keep your job and still upgrade your qualification.
