A Liberty Television journalist, Aminu Nurudeen, suspected to have posted the viral video showing the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, struggling to read a speech at a public event in Kano, has gone into hiding, Saturday PUNCH has has exclusively reported.

Sources disclosed to the publication that the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Musa Magaji Majiya, invited the reporter on Thursday on behalf of the State Police Command to its office immediately the video went viral, and since then, Nurudeen’s whereabouts had been unknown.

It was learnt that the police authorities were upset with the journalist because he had allegedly disobeyed a directive by the Kano State Police Command to journalists present at the event not to report the IG’s blunder or make the video public.

According to sources, the IG’s blunder brought an abrupt end to the event, leading the police chief’s handlers to hurriedly usher him away from the venue of the event.

Recall that the viral video showed the IG delivering an incoherent speech, which had since exposed him to public ridicule.

In a part of the transcription of the footage, Idris said, “I mean, transmission, I mean effort, that the transmission cooperation to transmission, I mean transmission to have effect, ehm, apprehend, I mean, apprehensive towards the recommendation, recommended formation effective and effect, I mean, apprehensive at the transmission of…and transmission and transmission for the effective in the police command.”

Voice of Liberty had posted the video on Wednesday. It was gathered on Friday that the IG was embarrassed by the trending video and had ordered an investigation into its release.

A source said that the IG described the video as doctored.

“He has however ordered an investigation into the leakage of the video but we are watching to see how he intends to deal with the individuals behind the viral video without further embarrassing himself and the force,” a senior police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity told Punch.

It was gathered that detectives were using the police technical platform to track the original source of the video on social media.

It was learnt that bloggers that posted the video might be interrogated by the police for allegedly “peddling a doctored video meant to cast the IG in bad light and embarrass the police leadership.”

Idris, in an interactive media chat on the police Twitter handle, Nigerian Police @PoliceNG #Askthepolice, had also told Nigerians that the video was doctored.

“Yes, it was doctored,” he said in response to a question from a twitter user who wanted to know why he bungled the speech.

The mood at the Force headquarters on Friday was solemn as policemen believed the video was sponsored by the enemies of the IG.

“I believe the IG may not be the most intelligent officer, but he is capable of presenting coherent speeches,” a Deputy Superintendent of Police who also spoke on condition of anonymity said.

Tekno has been accused by Ajegunle music stars, Danfo Drivers, who said they are angry with the Pana crooner for using their song without their permission.

This was revealed at the Headies 2018. during an interview with the music duo and one of them who mostly spoke stated that it was really disheartening for him to see that Tekno has used “their song” “Jogodo”, which was a hit during the early 2000 when it was first released has been released again by Tekno without their knowledge.

But according to them, what is mostly painful is the fact that no credit whatsoever was given to the or permission taken from them.

He went on to state that the only reason this happened was because they weren’t in Lagos but now that they’re back, Tekno should be ready for him.

The question now is, should Danfo Drivers the artiste that should be angry with Tekno or Prof Linkin? The song, Jogodo was released in 2005 by an Ajegunle music act Professor Linkin with the chorus, “Me I don Jogodo o, Me I don Jogodo, ewo, I don Jogodo, ma je ki iya mi mo”

These words and the melody are very different from Tekno’s “Jogodo” with the similarity found in just the word “Jogodo”. That can’t be said for Danfo Driver’s “Kpolongo” because with this song, Tekno took the beat and melody but swapped the name for Jodogo.

While searching for the song, we were surprised to find out that the title of Danfo Drivers and Tekno’s  songs are different but then again, the Duo are not talking about the title, they’re all about the recreation of their song but with another name entirely and that for them is a no-no.

Tekno seemed to have been trying out a form of musical hybridity on this one, swapping names and sound from one artiste to another, guess he didn’t know the song will  come out this great and he probably didn’t know he’ll release it just as he didn’t know he’ll promote the song for them to see and people to even enjoy, but what we wish he had known better was to have met with the artistes involved and reach an agreement with them because we wouldn’t be surprised if Professor Linkin shows up to demand his own royalty.

Developer John Reeves said: “The skeletons were found under the old swimming pool, in what was an extension to the Roman burial ground.”
A spokesman for York Archaeological Trust said graves of 30 decapitated Romans had been found nearby in 2004.

The same spokesman further explained: “The property is adjacent to a cemetery excavated by L P Wenham in the 1950s – one of the first Romano-British burial grounds to be fully published in this country.”

He also said the cemetery was “demographically diverse”, and included “men and women, and individuals of all ages from infants to elderly adults – although they seem to have been broadly of the same social class”.
