One thing we must know is that most protestants are not really after the truth. It is not just that they dont know, they dont want to know. That is why, when they raise an objection to a Catholic practice or doctrine e.g purgatory, and you address that issue comprehensively, they dont say, "okay you are right," they just go ahead and say "you worship Mary," "Peter was married, but you Popes dont marry," "you drink alcohol" "you baptize babies" "priests abuse children" etc...

Why do they do that? They cannot handle the truth about purgatory so they try to run away by listing other issues and distracting you from the original topic.

You look at a place like the US and you find many intelligent Protestant and evangelical Pastor becoming Catholic e.g Scott Hahn, Jeff Cavins etc. The do so because they kept seeking the truth even when they were protestants. Most Nigerian protestants are not open to truth like this...they are only seeking opportunities to bash what they do not understand, when they argue.

However, we must still do our bit for the very few who might be genuinely seeking truth.
