Putin is still pained by the dismantling of the USSR, majorly by powers from the west, and he's doing all he can to lord over the baby countries that emerged from the USSR disintegration. A defeat to Ukraine, is a defeat to the USA. It's either the same USA will broker truce, or support Ukraine to expose Russia's weaknesses. Only time will tell.

NNPC entity of corruption
1) Owns 3 non functional refineries after collecting billions of dollars for maintenance for over 30 years.
2) Treasury looting via fuel importation and subsidy scams
3) 7.5% ownership of Dangote refinery, yet sabotaging the same refinery to continue fuel importation, even when the capacity of the refinery can service Nigerian consumers and beyond.

Currently, there is unrest in the oil sector, and fingers are pointing at Tinubu's family (OandO and Co) of subtly positioning to take over oil industry in Nigeria. Right now, important economic positions and appointments are giving to Tinubu's inner circle members. And Knowing Tinubu's antecedent with tax issues (AlphaBeta/Lagos state), the fear is that Tinubu's tax reform is one of the schemes majorly for himself, no matter how lofty it may appear now.

Therefore, there is need for thorough review and consultation before accepting a reform that would end up enriching one individual and his family at the expense of our common wealth.

It makes no sense for any major commercial bank to have their hq outside Lagos and it equally makes no sense for oil companies to have their HQ outside the niger delta....the major reason that isn't the case for the latter is majorly due to insecurity and hostility of the communities in that region,dangote refinery being the most recent..... construction companies also bears the brunt as it cost more to work in the niger delta not majorly because of the terrain in some cases but the hostile attitude and demands by the commuinities.

Then let the government share the VAT proceeds equally to all the contributors (producers, administrators, consumers etc), instead of giving the lion share to Lagos state just because of hosting the administrative offices of these companies.

You don't know what you are talking about. Operational bases are different from administrative offices. Lagos state, being the administrative headquarters of Nigeria then made it attractive for all the the big companies in Nigeria to locate their head offices there. As we speak all the banks in Nigeria have their head offices in Lagos state. Does it mean that all the states in Nigeria are hostile to host banks head offices except Lagos state?

Personally, I support this continued importation by NNPC. Dangote's body language appears to me like an unrepentant capitalist alway in a hurry to exploit every opportunity.

NNPC is in charge of selling Nigerian crude oil. The price that Dangote buys crude oil from NNPC determines the price of the finished products for consumers.

This is the same NNPC that owns 7.5% shares of Dangote refinery. This is the same NNPC that owns 3 refineries in Nigeria, but non is functioning despite receiving billions of dollars for mentenance. Also, despite the fact that Dangote refinery has enough products for consumers at the price that is determined by how much it buys the crude oil from NNPC, NNPC is still bent on importing.

Of course, importing petroleum products in the past 3 decades by NNPC has being the major means of looting the treasury. Now they want to make it look as if Dangote has being the one causing problems in the oil industry in Nigeria so they can keep importing and looting.

When will the citizens of this country revolt to chase away these cabals who have stolen our common wealth for so long, or at least stop supporting them? Is it until when the oil wells all dry up, and the looters stay super rich, while the common man keeps eating from the trash can?

All what they know how to do is to manipulate statistics to favor their propaganda. You can grap it, snatch it, and run with it to occupy ASO rock, but when economic reality sets in, you'll keep dishing out more propaganda to deceive your gullible followers.
