Politics › Re: Sowore Calls Governor Eno "A Masquerade" Who Should Be Arrested by WorkTheTalk(m): 8:56am On Dec 04, 2025
bong4:
If there was no clear definition of what a "masquerade" is, then there could be a problem in the law court. If the so called offense committed is because the guy covered himself, then he should be able to walk away free, as there are several people who cover themselves walking all over the place, except the guy was caught harrassing people in the public.
It isn't about the dress code; it's about operating by the laws (The 2022 law put in place already requires police clearance for masquerade displays. Those who wish to celebrate masquerades must restrict the activity to village squares.)

Read:
..... ‎The governor stressed that while he respects the state’s cultural heritage, no tradition should cause harm or infringe on the rights of citizens.

‎He said, “All of us are living witnesses to the embarrassment and nuisance that this has caused. If you have driven along the highways, you would have seen how they operate. It could cause accidents, and sometimes it brings cars to an abrupt halt.

‎”Last two weeks, we had a scene where a young woman was literally stripped naked and flogged by these masquerades. Yes, it is culture, but everyone has a right. No culture should dominate the other or cause harm to others.”

Eno noted that a 2022 law already requires police clearance for such displays, adding that those who wish to celebrate masquerades must restrict the activity to village squares.
Technology Market › eVTOL Mobility Industry And Digital Branding by WorkTheTalk(op): 7:31pm On Dec 03, 2025
The eVTOL (electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing) industry is accelerating into one of the most transformative innovations of modern transportation. With clean electric propulsion, vertical lift capabilities, and compact aerodynamic designs, eVTOL aircraft promise to reshape how people and goods move within congested cities.

Governments and private players across the world are developing regulatory frameworks, vertiports, and traffic-management systems, signaling that urban air mobility is no longer a distant concept but an emerging reality.

As technological breakthroughs continue, the industry’s growth is being driven not only by engineering excellence but also by public perception. Because eVTOLs introduce a new mode of transport, companies must overcome skepticism about safety, cost, noise, and infrastructure readiness.

This makes communication and trust-building essential. Clear messaging, educational outreach, and transparent digital engagement are now as important as aircraft performance in earning market confidence.

Digital branding has therefore become a fundamental pillar for every eVTOL startup, manufacturer, and service provider. Strong digital identities help companies articulate their vision, showcase innovation, and differentiate themselves in a competitive global market.

Brands are using high-quality websites, interactive simulations, virtual reality previews, and data-rich storytelling to simplify complex technologies and inspire public imagination.

Domain names sit at the core of this digital strategy. In a cutting-edge industry, the right domain instantly communicates credibility, modernity, and relevance.

Aviation-centric brandable names such as VerticalEV.com, AerialMobile.com, Vehiclet.com, AtmosCars.com, Flightol.com, and Aeropio.com provide strong positioning for companies building solutions around vertical mobility, electric propulsion, and airborne logistics.

These domains enhance visibility, strengthen SEO, and serve as memorable digital gateways for investors, partners, and customers.

Ultimately, the success of the eVTOL industry will depend on both technological capability and the strength of digital branding. As urban air mobility moves closer to mainstream adoption, companies with clear, futuristic, and trustworthy digital identities will lead public acceptance and investor confidence.

In this new era of aviation, branding is not just an accessory—it is a strategic engine powering the future of flight.

Akwa Ibom masquerades had long become mini bandits. The earlier they are checked, the better for the society.
If the north had done same to fulani herdsmen, nobody would have being victims of banditry today.

Father Christmas and Santa Claus go out to give gifts to people, unlike masquerades that terrorize and steal from the community.
Many masquerades activities in Akwa Ibom state had led to road accidents and death in the past.

Sowore, masquerades don't have any business in cities and urban areas. They are supposed to operate in rural areas, but not in cities to harassment and extortion money from people.

The masquerades in Akwa Ibom state use machetes, bow and arrows. Some are known to use other dangerous weapons to snatch properties, motorcycles, and even cars. Many of the masquerades are armed robbers. Many of their activities had caused road accidents and death in the past. I grew up there, and I know that they had long became a menace to the society.

Read:
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has signed an Executive Order banning masquerade displays on streets and major highways across the state.

‎The move, according to the governor, follows rising incidents of harassment, extortion and public disturbances linked to masquerade activities in several communities.

‎He directed the Commissioner of Police and other security agencies to enforce full compliance.

By my office as the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, I am issuing an order that anyone caught will be arrested and prosecuted. They have used it to cause havoc in some local governments.

‎”As the chief security officer of the State, I am directing the commissioner of police and other security agencies to arrest and prosecute masquerades. Let it stop terrorising people, and let people have peace,” Eno stated.

The governor stressed that while he respects the state’s cultural heritage, no tradition should cause harm or infringe on the rights of citizens.

Nigeria's current Minister of state for Defense is Bello Matawale. The former governor of Zamfara State, between 2019 to 2023. Yes, the same Zamfara that is one of the most terror-plagued states in the northern region.

And yet somehow he and his principal, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, are responsible for coordinating security operations against Boko Haram, against bandits, against multiple other terrorist groups and militant groups we have across the country. More troubling, as the governor of Zamfara state, he could not control the insecurity in his state. Under his leadership, Zamfara remained one of the most terrorized states in Nigeria. After failing to secure his state as a governor, he was put in charge of securing 36 states, including the FCT.

Politics › 'Bandits Are Jihadists, Not Terrorists' - Abdulrahoof Bello by WorkTheTalk(op): 2:44pm On Nov 27, 2025
Bandits are jihadists not terrorists, FG can’t use full force against them: APC Chieftain, Abdulrahoof Bello

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Abdulrahoof Bello, has described bandits as jihadists, arguing that the federal government cannot deploy military force against them because there is no current law proscribing them as terrorists.

Mr Bello said this during a Channels TV’s Sunrise Daily programme on Wednesday. He noted that he was not aware of any law enacted by the National Assembly proscribing bandits as terrorists.

He stressed that the absence of such a proclamation prevented President Bola Tinubu from implementing the highest military intervention that the United States government of America was expecting from the Nigerian government to resolve the crisis.

“The bandits are jihadists because to the best of my knowledge, I am not aware of any law enacted by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria declaring these people as terrorists,” Mr Bello said.

He added, “… And that is a very great lacuna that has been hindering the Federal Government from giving the terrorist treatment that Donald Trump is expecting from the Nigeria government.”

The federal government has been on the global radar after notable American politicians, including President Donald Trump, accused the Tinubu administration of not doing enough to rein in on bandits allegedly killing Christians in Nigeria.

This was followed up with a threat by Mr Trump to order a military operation in Nigeria against the bandits should Mr Tinubu fail to deploy immediate measures to protect Christians in Nigeria, especially in northern parts of the country.

Despite the pressure from the United States, the security crisis in Nigeria has escalated in recent days after 24 students were kidnapped by bandits from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi State on November 12. They however regained freedom this week.

Nine days later, another batch of 303 students and 12 teachers were abducted from their school after armed bandits stormed the St. Mary’s School in Papiri in Agwara Local Government Area of Niger State.

The attacks renewed local and international calls for more efforts from Nigerian authorities to immediately address the increasing security concerns across the nation.

Politics › Re: Security Coordination In Zamfara Won’t Work Without Me — Bello Matawalle by WorkTheTalk(m):
Bello Matawalle is the former governor of Zamfara State, between 2019 to 2023. The same Zamfara that is one of the most terror-plagued states in the northern region.

During his time as governor, he had been accused by the current governor of Zamfara State, Dawda Lawal, of basically frolicking with bandits. He had been accused of colluding with bandits, keeping bandits in the government house in Zamfara, paying ransom directly to terrorists, and procuring even vehicles for popular notorious bandit kingpins like Bello Turji.

Now as a Defence Minister of State, he plays the role of a middleman between terrorists and the FG. He is in charge of the "Non-kinetic" approach (ransom payments to terrorists by governments). The more ransom paid to terrorists, the richer the minister.

His interest to still get involved in Zamfara security is possibly to sabotage the governor's effort, and protect his bandit boys. And where ransom is involved, he'll be at the frontline to collect his share.

You dont expect the defense minister to be a career soldier.
But defence ministers can be individuals who benefit from the insurgency, corrupt former governors and law makers, terrorists makers and sympathizers.
I would not be surprised if tomorrow they create Ministry of Bandits Affairs, where he can be made a substantive minister. Such is the bane of a "disgraced country".
