This is Dr. Von Batten. Yesterday evening, I was informed by a journalist I respect that he had been told Nigerian President Bola Tinubu (@officialABAT) released a more than two-week-old letter from President @realDonaldTrump in response to our lobbying efforts here in Washington, D.C.

I was also informed by a different source that no actual letter was sent and that President Tinubu's team forgot to change the date from July 6 to July 22 in the released quotations. We are still working to verify this particular claim, but it appears President #Tinubu's apparent objective was to make it seem that the alleged letter from President @realDonaldTrump to him was sent after we briefed the White House on Tinubu's alleged heroin trafficking link. In reality, the alleged letter is dated weeks before our White House briefing. Stand by for updates.

This morning, I personally briefed key members of the White House regarding President Tinubu's apparent attempt to insinuate that President #Trump condones President Tinubu's alleged drug trafficking link. A member of my team will also be meeting with @SenTedCruz's staff this morning to provide a briefing on these latest developments.

Buhari said so for 8 years. Instead of ending the insurgency APC created to remove GEJ, he compensated and empowered the fulanis they imported into Nigeria to take over people's land for settlement and banditry.

Tinubu benefited from that same APC shenanigan. Getting into power, he and his VP Shettima chose non-kinetic approach (negotiation, ransom payments, rehabilitation, military enrollment etc) to ending terrorism. This has escalated insecurity in the country. Unfortunately, there is nothing new or different Tinubu is ready to do to end the insecurity.

For 2027 election, watch as looters like Akpabio will promise Nigerians heaven on earth, but after winning, they would turn their backs on the people, and continue looting from where the stopped.

Still wondering why we have budget padding, figure alteration, and ghost agencies in our national budget under Tinubu?

The current Minister of Budget and Economic Planning of Nigeria is Abubakar Atiku Bagudu. He was appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and assumed office on 21 August 2023. He remains the substantive minister as of July 2026.

Bagudu was previously indicted for embezzlement, misappropriation, extortion and fraud.

In Nigeria, terrorism offences carry severe punishments under the Terrorism (Prevention) Act and its subsequent amendments, ranging from a minimum of 20 years in prison to life imprisonment or death, depending on the severity of the crime.

Why in God's name would a court give a life sentence to terrorists commanders who slaughtered their victims, wiped out families, killed military officers, destroyed communities, institutions etc?

Isn't it possible that the life sentence to the terrorists commanders is what the FG agreed with the terrorists before the Kidnapped Oyo teachers and students were released?

The initial demand by the terrorists was for the commanders to be released from detention. With this life sentence, soon there would be jail break, and those commanders would escaped.

There is no evil scheming this Tinubu’s government is incapable of.

You are correct/wrong. There is no international rule or legal requirement that forces NNPCL to sell crude oil to Nigerian refineries in U.S. dollars.

The fact that crude oil is generally priced and traded internationally in dollars is a market convention, not a legal obligation. For domestic sales, the Nigerian government and NNPC can agree to sell crude oil in naira if they choose.

Crude oil is priced internationally in dollars,
Dangote as a Nigerian business man has enjoyed alot of good will from Government and he should extend similar gesture to Nigerians.

As a matter of fact it is legal for him to sell in dollars since he operates within a free trade zone.

This is why I said it doesn't make sense for him to want to sell to his fellow country men in dollars because.

Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, DRC, Tanzania are calling on Dangote to establish his refinery in their countries. Dangote has stated that both Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi) had previously encouraged him to build a refinery there, but he chose to invest in Nigeria instead.

There is no law that says a government must sell its locally gotten raw materials to its local manufacturers in foreign currency. Nigerian law is supreme in Nigeria being a sovereign country. The law says all transactions in Nigeria most be in the local currency, naira.

The Federal Executive Council directed NNPCL to supply crude oil to the Dangote Refinery and other local refineries in naira rather than US dollars. This arrangement was implemented to reduce pressure on Nigeria's foreign exchange reserves and stabilize local fuel pump prices.

Tell your corrupt Nigerian government officials who are parts of the oil cabals calling themselves marketers to sell crude oil in Naira to Dangote, so he can produce and sell fuels to them in Naira.

Ten years ago, there was no Dangote refinery. The oil sector was filthy with the same oil cabals and thieves. Having looted and destroyed all the refineries, they can't do same to Dangote refinery no matter the sentiment.

Crude is an internationally traded commodity.
Besides Dangote is not selling to Nigerians alone.
He still export significant portions of the crude distillation products.

Allow him to enjoy forex priority if that will force him to produce and sell cheap to the citizens to also enjoy. After all the ones your corrupt government officials and cabals have been enjoying, how are the abandoned refineries benefitting you?
