I will say partly. The signings have been very poor and below par. Gomes is not too intelligent to fit Barca's chemistry of quick thinking football in midfield and tiki taka. When you build your team round a set of players, when those players fade, the whole team suffers a great deal. MSN held Barca all through last season, now the bond has been disrupted and the team is suffering. Barca should reduce the workload on Messi. Look at Madrid, without Ronaldo and Bale, they are still very lethal to even the most well organized defence.

Neymar actually had an impact on this team during pre-season games. He complemented Messi's efforts. What Barça needs are players that can fit in the team well with or without Messi cos Messi is getting older and needs lesser work load so is Iniesta, Sergio Busquets and some older players in the team if they want to lift any silverware this season and beyond.
