The HtS terrorists have been trying to subdue Syrian Shiites since they got to power.
Arresting potential trouble makers, confiscating ammunitions, taking over local administration.
It has been systemic.
Clashes and ambushes have occurred in certain sectors during this campaign.

Sometime earlier last week, their operation arrived at Hawik, a Shiite border town in Syria.
The Hawiks were not having it and confronted the HtS terrorists.
HtS sent reinforcements and the Hawiks called in the cavalry from Lebanon.

It is important to point out that the Shia militias in Lebanon firing on HtS positions currently are not Hezbollah.
Hezbollah is still in reserve. These are clan militias.
President Aoun is now deploying the Lebanese military to take over the positions of the clan militias to avoid a sectarian collapse of order where Sunni Lebanese would say Hezbollah/Amal are using proxies to start an insurgency in Syria from strongholds just across the border in Lebanon.
