⚡Ukraine is in panic as Russia and US push for elections.

According to Politico, Ukrainian officials fear that the rapprochement between Washington and Moscow could exclude them from discussions of their own country's future.

The concerns were raised by Trump's special envoy Kellogg and Russian presidential press secretary Peskov simultaneously speaking out about the need to hold elections in Ukraine.

"I see this as the first sign that Trump and Putin agree on one thing - they want to remove Zelensky," the newspaper quotes a former Ukrainian minister, whose name is not disclosed.

⚡Zelenskiy:

Ukraine’s Resources Key to Security & Partnerships:

- Ukraine seeks allied partnerships with the US to develop its vast mineral wealth – not “give it away.”

- Putin wants Ukraine’s resources & may share them with North Korea, Iran.

"Of course, they have not seized 20% of our mineral resources, it is less. Much less. Nevertheless, it is still hundreds of billions."

- Russia has occupied areas that hold not hundreds of billions but trillions in value.

“Putin is not just grabbing them (minerals) along with the land, he is already thinking about how to get other partners in his alliance - North Korea, Iran ... and he will give them access."

- Dnipro region is crucial for protecting these resources.

"This is very rich land. This does not mean that we are giving it away to anyone, even to strategic partners.”

- Ukraine could become a U.S. LNG hub for Europe

"We are ready and willing to have contracts for LNG supplies to Ukraine. And of course, we will be a hub for the whole of Europe."

⚡The U.S. Justice Department, under new Attorney General Pam Bondi, has officially disbanded Task Force KleptoCapture, the unit created during the Biden administration to seize Russian business assets in response to the Ukraine conflict. The move marks a significant shift in Washington’s approach to economic warfare against Russia.

Task Force KleptoCapture was established in 2022 with the goal of enforcing sanctions, seizing the assets of Russian oligarchs, and targeting businesses linked to the Kremlin. Over the past two years, the task force oversaw the confiscation of high-profile assets, including luxury yachts, real estate, and bank accounts, as part of Washington’s broader financial war against Moscow.

Bondi has also disbanded the Foreign Influence Task Force, which previously monitored Russian and Chinese political influence in the United States. According to sources, the Justice Department is now redirecting resources to focus on transnational crime and fentanyl trafficking, shifting away from aggressive sanction enforcement.

With U.S. enforcement weakening, previously targeted Russian individuals and businesses may now regain access to frozen assets.

⚡Britain’s government insisted Thursday that it must hand back the Chagos Islands to Mauritius to secure continued access to satellite communications at a key US-UK military base.

The Labour administration is facing domestic political criticism for announcing in October that it would return the isles to Britain’s former colony and pay to lease the facility on Diego Garcia, the largest island.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer says international legal rulings have put Britain’s ownership of the Chagos in doubt and only a deal with Mauritius can guarantee that the base remains functional.

His official spokesman said losing access to the facility “would be bad for our national security, and a gift for our adversaries”.

“For example, the electromagnetic spectrum at the Diego Garcia base would not be able to continue to operate without a deal. This system enables secure communications in the region,” he told reporters.

“It’s something that the UK and the US have currently got unique access to, and it is the case that without legal certainty over the base (it) is something we would lose access to.”

The system is guaranteed and governed by the International Telecommunication Union, a United Nations body based in Geneva, and “various companies will be involved in supplying the technology and systems”, the spokesman added.

Britain kept control of the Chagos Islands after Mauritius gained independence in the 1960s.

The base is leased to the United States and has become one of its key military facilities in the Asia-Pacific.

Washington has used it as a hub for long-range bombers and ships, notably during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Britain evicted thousands of Chagos islanders who have since mounted a series of legal claims for compensation in British courts.
