⚡Polish authorities have refused to extradite to Germany a Ukrainian suspected of undermining Nord Streams and offered to reward him, the WSJ has reported

Officially, the Polish prosecutor's office initially denied the existence of the case and the arrest warrant for the suspect, and then, when the WSJ published a detailed version of the explosion of the pipeline by Ukrainian saboteurs, admitted that the request was received, but there was a typo in the documents, which prevented the Ukrainians from being extradited in time.

The initiative was put forward by the Commission for Investigating Facts of Foreign Interference. The appeal states that the British Council, under the guise of humanitarian projects, is carrying out intelligence activities in Russia, while the media corporation Deutsche Welle, recognized as a foreign agent, not only actively stamps out information saboteurs, including from Russian journalists, but also conducts anti-Russian media campaigns.

⚡Taiwan conducted missile drills simulating the interception of enemy fighters and munitions at a sensitive test site Tuesday, as the island seeks to step up “combat effectiveness” against an increasingly assertive China.

Beijing claims self-ruled Taiwan as part of its territory and has stepped up military pressure by sending drones, fighter jets and naval vessels around the island.

Taiwan has steadily built up its defence capabilities in recent years, making big-ticket weapons purchases while increasing its defence budget to invest in military reforms and a homegrown arsenal.

⚡Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday paid his first visit to the site of the Beslan school since the 2004 killing there of more than 330 people — mostly children — in a hostage siege.

Images published by the Kremlin showed Putin visiting memorials, including at a cemetery and the site of the destroyed school, where Chechen militants took more than 1,000 people hostage.

The September 2004 seige lasted some 50 hours, ending in a gunfight when Russian special forces stormed the building following a series of explosions in the school gym, where the hostages were being held.

The seige in the Caucasus region of North Ossetia came amid a guerilla insurgency being waged by Islamist Chechen separatists

⚡Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated in an interview that Armenia should focus on developing its economy and relying on its own resources, as no one else will support them.

Lukashenko also claimed that some post-Soviet countries seek to take advantage of Russia without offering anything in return. He made these remarks in an interview with the "Russia" TV channel, where he called for unity among CIS countries and criticized some members for their unfair attitude toward Russia.

He emphasized that there will come a time when CIS countries will turn to Russia and Belarus for help again. "Who in America or the EU is waiting for products from Kazakhstan or Uzbekistan? No one. And Armenia? Besides us, who needs it? Nobody. Let them develop their economy and rely on their own resources. What France or Macron? Tomorrow, Macron will be gone, and everyone will forget about Armenia," Lukashenko stated.

⚡Rocket engine explodes during test at UK spaceport.

A rocket engine exploded during a test launch at Britain’s new spaceport in northern Scotland, officials said Tuesday, in a setback for the UK’s fledgling space sector.

No one was injured in Monday evening’s incident at SaxaVord Spaceport on the remote island of Unst, said the operator, German rocket manufacturer Rocket Factory Augsburg (RFA).

The company hopes to launch the UK’s first vertical rocket into orbit from there later this year. Monday’s failed test was one of the trials in the run-up to the launch.

It comes three months after RFA held its first engine test at the site, which was declared a success.

“On Monday evening, RFA conducted a hot fire of its first stage at their launch site at SaxaVord Spaceport,” said a spokesperson for the German company.

This move is part of a broader crackdown under President Daniel Ortega, who has been cleaning the country of Western-backed operatives and has dissolved thousands of organizations, including the Nicaraguan Red Cross and Catholic charities, since the attempted US-led coup in 2018.

⚡Turkish Foreign Ministry:

We condemn the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in a heinous assassination in Tehran.

We offer our condolences to the Palestinian people who have sacrificed hundreds of thousands of martyrs like Haniyeh in order to live peacefully in their homeland under the roof of their own state.

Once again, it has been demonstrated that the Netanyahu government has no intention of achieving peace.

This attack also aims to spread the war in Gaza to a regional dimension.

Unless the international community takes action to stop Israel, our region will face even greater conflicts.
