⚡Tensions High in UK as Protests Erupt at Vigil. Riot police are on the scene in Southport, where angry crowds are throwing bricks and setting off fireworks after several children were stabbed in the area. The three young girls were killed in the knife attack and have been identified. Eight other children and two adults were also injured, with some in critical condition. Police detained a 17-year-old boy from Banks and seized a knife in connection with the stabbings, which are not suspected to be terror-related.

⚡France backs Moroccan Autonomy Plan for the Western Sahara, Algeria Recalls Ambassador. President Emmanuel Macron said in a letter on Tuesday that France recognizes a plan for autonomy for the Western Sahara region under Moroccan sovereignty as the only way of resolving a long-running dispute over the territory. The dispute, dating back to 1975, pits Morocco, which says the Western Sahara is its territory, against the Algeria-backed Polisario Front, which says it is an independent state. As the former colonial power in the region, France has walked a diplomatic tightrope between Rabat and Algiers on the issue. Most of France's Western allies already back Morocco's plan. Algeria has recalled its ambassador from France in response to Macron's statement to King Mohammed VI of Morocco in regard to the disputed territory.
