⚡Russia's armed forces have grown larger and not dwindled during its war in Ukraine, a top US general said on Wednesday. "The army is actually now larger — by 15 percent — than it was when it invaded Ukraine," US Army Gen. Christopher Cavoli, NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, told the House Armed Services Committee in a hearing. "Over the past year, Russia increased its front-line troop strength from 360,000 to 470,000," Cavoli continued. "In sum, Russia is on track to command the largest military on the continent," Cavoli said in his opening statement to Congress. "Regardless of the outcome of the war in Ukraine, Russia will be larger, more lethal, and angrier with the West than when it invaded," he added. 11 Likes 1 Share

⚡Ukrainian Defense Express reports that Russia tested its newest missile at the Trypillya Thermal Power Plant. The X-69 missile, an advanced development of the X-59. Which has a more advanced guidance and flight correction system than the prototype, plus it flies 110km further, (400 km instead of 290 km) and it is less vulnerable to air defense systems, due to its shape and lower flight altitude. ⚡Macron, Ukraine's staunchest defender, quietly increases gas payments to Russia - report "Russian liquefied natural gas deliveries to France grew more than to any other country in the EU compared to last year," Politico writes, citing data from the Center for Research on Energy and Clean Air. In total, since the beginning of the year, France has paid Russia more than 600 million euros for gas supplies, the newspaper notes, adding that this situation has caused criticism in the EU and calls for Paris to stop the growing purchases. Politico reports that the increase in Russian gas is partly due to strikes that "strongly disrupted normal flows last year." In addition, France, for its part, argues that "high level of gas travels through France and helps supply other countries like Italy."

WrriterNg:⚡Japan lost a bid in Indonesia to China to build the HSR there. Japan also hasn't started the Thailand line, while another one being build by China is half done, and was supposed to build a North-South HSR line in Vietnam, but Vietnam is now prioritizing link to China. ⚡Vietnam declared today that it will seek to complete two high speed rail lines to formally not only connect Vietnam, but to also link it to China's regional network. This is a major win for China as it basically will have tied up Vietnam/Laos/Thailand into its planned China - SEA regional HSR network by the mid 2030s. And once China does that, it has a clear route to finish this with Malaysia/Singapore. Kunming to Singapore by 2040. This is a once in a lifetime infrastructure project. 5 Likes

⚡Russia is again selling oil at prices above the ceiling set by the West - Bloomberg Urals oil is shipped from the ports of the Baltic and Black Seas, after which it goes to India and China, where it is sold at $75 per barrel. Previously, the West established rules according to which every European company involved in oil transportation is required to obtain confirmation that oil was purchased no more than $60 per barrel, however, this requirement is ignored.
