⚡UK national debt has hit 100% of the country’s annual economic output, the highest level since the 1960s, underscoring the challenge facing the chancellor, Rachel Reeves, as she prepares for next month’s budget.

Figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) show the government’s debt pile as a share of gross domestic product increased by 4.3 percentage points over the year to August to reach a size equal to the annual value of everything produced in the economy.

I beg to disagree.
Netayahun is not as hardened as we are meant to.
He doesn't act without the west backing.
If he was to be a Taliban knowing fully well he has no solid Godfather backing, he will be as quiet as a dove.
This guy will piss in his pants if he is left alone to face Iran without any weapons coming from west or fighter carrier ships on standby at sea close to isreal to protect her.
He is not as tough as we think
I don't think you understand what's going on here. Hehehe

⚡North Korea had tested new tactical ballistic missiles with super-large warheads and modified cruise missiles, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported on September 18.

The tests to improve weapons capabilities are required because of the grave threat posed by outside forces to the security of the country, leader Kim Jong Un, who led the tests, was quoted by the state-run news agency as saying.

The North Korean leader also stressed “the need to continue to bolster up the nuclear force and have the strongest military technical capability and overwhelming offensive capability in the field of conventional weapons too.”

The tests involved the new tactical ballistic Hwasongpho-11-Da-4.5 missiles, KCNA said, indicating it was part of a series of short-range ballistic missiles it had been developing. The missile was armed with a 4.5-ton super-large conventional warhead, according to the news agency.

After meeting with his Romanian counterpart Odobescu in Bucharest, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiga asked Romania to shoot down Russian drones approaching the country's airspace.

At the same time, after the wreckage of several UAVs fell on its territory, politicians and military officials are arguing about whether changes to the law are necessary to shoot down foreign drones in its own airspace, and a decision is not yet in sight.

⚡The Georgian government could not have told the truth about the war in South Ossetia in 2008 earlier, said Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

"Due to the current cases in The Hague and Strasbourg, we have avoided making firm and precise statements on this topic. ⚡Chairman of the state Duma Volodin stated that migrants coming to Russia must know the Russian language, respect our traditions, laws and culture

Vyacheslav Volodin noted at the autumn session of the State Duma that the sphere of migration needs legislative development of a number of problems. Migrants should come to Russia with knowledge of our culture and laws, and treat them with respect. The Chairman noted that yesterday at the meeting 8 initiatives in this sphere were considered - they were sent to the regions for approval.

In August, Volodin announced that the Russian Government was considering 28 bills that would tighten migration policy. Among them is a ban on low-skilled specialists bringing their families, relatives, and friends to Russia, and on employers hiring immigrants to work in certain areas. In particular, today it became known that in the Moscow Region, from January 1, 2025, Migrants will no longer be hired in the catering, education, sport, leisure and retail industries.

⚡Recent military aid packages to Ukraine have been smaller.

This is due to dwindling stockpiles of weapons and equipment that the Pentagon is willing to send from its own inventory.

The Biden administration has $6 billion in funds available for Ukraine. However, the Pentagon lacks sufficient inventory to deliver without impacting US military readiness.

Zelensky has reported that Ukraine is feeling the impact of these inventory shortages. He warned of a "significant" shortfall in vital aid and slow deliveries of promised air defense systems.

Recent aid packages have been significantly smaller, not exceeding $400 million and mostly ranging from $125 million to $250 million. In 2022 and 2023, packages were regularly between $600 million to $800 million, with the largest being $2.85 billion in January 2023.

⚡Two Chinese Coast Guard ships arrived in Russia’s far east on Tuesday for a series of joint drills and patrols with Moscow’s forces, the Russian foreign ministry said.

The exercise, dubbed “Pacific Patrol 2024”, comes just a week after Chinese and Russian warships sailed through the Sea of Japan for a different drill, and as both countries ramp up their military co-operation.

“The Chinese Coast Guard ships Meishan and Xiushan are visiting Vladivostok,” a local branch of the Russian foreign ministry said on Telegram.

“During the visit, a number of events are planned, including joint exercises and patrols. A welcoming ceremony for the flotilla was held on 17 September,” it added.

Moscow and Beijing have deepened military and economic cooperation in recent years, an alliance that has drawn anxiety from the West as both countries seek to counterbalance what they see as a United States-led global order.

China sent four warships and a supply vessel to Russia last week for the start of Moscow’s Ocean-2024 exercise, part of the largest drill of its kind for three decades.

⚡ Nobody wanted to hold a press conference with Scholz.

Kazakhstan cancelled the join conference just before it began and Uzbekistan did not even agree to hold one in the first place.

After the cancellation, Scholz came out in Kazakhstan alone and talked about “supporting the nations in the region on their way to sovereignty”, which they ironically showed by pushing him back.

The German news agency DPA reported: "The planned joint press conference of Tokayev and Scholz was cancelled by the Kazakh side shortly before it began.

And in Uzbekistan, the Chancellor's first stop on his three-day trip, a joint appearance before the press was not planned from the very beginning”

⚡Russia resumes arms deliveries to Armenia, including Smerch MLRS & its 300mm rockets, while halting weapons supplies to Azerbaijan since 2022.

Russian arms deliveries to Armenia are ongoing, even up to the present day.

Russia has not sent "a single bullet" to Azerbaijan, citing the war in Ukraine as the reason.

Despite public rhetoric suggesting deteriorating relations, trade between Russia and Armenia has been growing rapidly.

Trade volume increased from $2.6 billion in 2021 to $5 billion in 2022 (91.7% growth) & reached $7.4 billion in 2023. Projected to reach $14-16 billion in 2024.

The growth is largely attributed to re-export schemes to bypass Western sanctions on Russia & export of Russian gold and diamonds through Armenia to UAE and Hong Kong.

The West, particularly France, the US, and the EU, are providing significant financial and military aid to Armenia despite awareness of its economic ties with Russia.
