⚡️Total degradation - British submarine nuclear deterrence forces are experiencing a severe crisis. With the 🇬🇧 UK suffering from a weakening economy, its military reduced to record low numbers, and the entire defense budget planned to be spent on updating its nuclear arsenal, the real combat readiness of the nuclear submarine deterrent force may sink to the bottom. Recall that in total the British have four nuclear-powered missile carriers, one of which, HMS Victorious, has been under repair in Devonport since June 2023. Another strategic missile carrier, HMS Vanguard, has again left its permanent base in the Clyde to continue preparations for the upcoming campaigns and cannot yet take up combat duty. The same type of boat HMS Vigilant has been on a military campaign for almost four and a half months, and the fourth boat, HMS Vengeance, is not even preparing for the next deployment. Accordingly, it is expected that HMS Vigilant will spend time at sea over the deadlines set by the Admiralty, or, again in violation of the governing documents of the Royal Navy, will prepare the missile carrier outside the approved plan, in emergency mode. There are several reasons for such a deplorable state of the 🇬🇧 British nuclear fleet. Firstly, the British are faced with a shortage of trained personnel - young people are choosing a different career because salaries in the navy do not keep up with inflation, and preferential housing, which the authorities lure into the armed forces, is now being transferred to migrants, literally throwing military families out into the street. Secondly, the technical condition of the boats is also not encouraging. Submarine missile carriers need expensive repairs, for which there is simply no money in the current budget. The Admiralty is forced to save on everything, including the combat training of crews. It is not known how soon the nuclear submarine fleet will have to be cannibalized on the model of surface ships and whether this will lead to a catastrophe, but at such a pace soon the British simply will not physically be able to maintain the constant presence of their missile carriers at sea. |
