It depends on ur camp, it varies. In my camp in abj, my guy was d one carryin NYSC flag, but he was still posted 2 d outskirt of abj. Same tin wit a gal in my platoon then. But in some camps, d camp commandant will collect ur names. As 4 me, I'll not risk doin dat without assurance, cos those pple suffer.

I remember during my own time. Arnd dis time, I was hanging out wit all my frnds in attempt 2 reduce tension nd cheer up cos I wasnt happy I got abj, I wantd lag.
I'll always tel anybody goin 2 camp dat camp is as fun as u want it 2 b. Mke makin frnds ur priority. Generally, abj camp is fun though d facilities re not rili dat great. Enof said 4 now, if u hav any questions, I'll b glad 2 help.

its a bit difficult, u'll hav 2 write a letter 2 d camp director, stating d reasons 4 ur exit nd then an Exeat letter/tag will b given 2 u stating d time u re xpected 2 return 2 camp each day.
There re other unofficial ways, lyk meeting d soldiers @ d gate nd negotiatin with them, but its a bit risky.
I shld b in camp 2 recruit band members, so I can also help u 2 get in nd out if I come 2 camp, but am not 100% sure yet wen I'll come.

It depends on ur course. Generally, commissions re gud cos they pay well. jst try nd get close 2 ur platoon leader nd any nysc official in order for gud postin. 4 joinin band, dat 1 no b problem as far as u dnt come late. We'll relate in camp b dat.

Now, my prospective Abj otondos, u re highly welcome, by God's grace I'm serving there. Ur PPA wil play a huge role on weda u'll enjoy abj or not. you can ask any question that u want nd I'll ans d ones I can. I might see some of u in camp, cos I'll be in camp myself for most of the 3weeks.

To those posted to Enugu, d Coal City, 042, E-Town and swag republic. U re safe once u re posted to town. The state pays 10K nd d state is cheap, so u'll safe big. Our Governor is OLINGO MASTER, So if u re a flexin/club person, u'll flex ur life out. Any question u wish to ask concerning dat state, u re also welcome. I repeat, u'll enjoy that state especially if u re in town.

FCT camp is nothing to compare with the pix I am seeing here. Its not so bad, but it has no class @all,
I enjoyed it though, cos I xpected nothing less.

try not 2 carry anytin below 10K to camp. Evrytn 4 camp is moni nd they re all xpensive.

anywayz, there is only 1 camp commander in camp, nd u must b ready 2 loose ur voice nd mayb ur legs. weda it is a guarantee for good postin is d one I am not sure abt, my guy was among d color party durin his own time nd they promised them dat evr1 in parade will get gud postin. well, he was posted 2 a skul outskirts of abj. so, for parade commander, I jst tink it may get u close 2 d camp commandant nd if u can pull ur strings well, u may get him 2 influence ur postin. d only down side 2 it is dat, if u re a parade commander, it will b hard 4 u to join any other tin (band nd obs is out of it). but u wil b 1 of if not d most popular persons in camp

I actually joined band cds, not because of ppa cos I didnt knw it helps ur postin by then, I joined cos abj band was fun nd its still fun, we run d cds by ourselves nd we call it 'd fun republic' u get 2 come bak 2 camp evritym camp opens nd teach d new batch, its rili fun cos u'll now re-live nysc without d military interference.

Nah, gals re in d both. they will tel u in camp dat there is no lady in d military or para-military, evr1 is referred to as 'sir'.

Joinin any of them wont make u not 2 feel camp, wot it will do is to giv u an option if u re tired of the whole routine. I enjoyed evry bit of camp. I drilled wella, snapped alot of pix, joined d parade nd later pulled out, cooked, did d man o war drills(dats d best part of d drill if u ask me), stayed in mami, etc.

Abj service is v.gud, ryt now, wit dis skul rule, I tink its d best 4 me. U hav 2 hustle ur ppa on ur own, if u re lucky, u'll secure a gud one 4rm camp nd they will accept u, if not, u wil hav 2 start hustlin 4 request letter 4rm any firm u can find. Generally, Abj is ok if u hav som1 2 stay wit initially, but if u dnt, 'may God help U'.

I wuld say, 4rm xperience, I wil advice u try nd join obs nd band, u can b a technician in obs nd show up once in a while, its necessary if u re intrested in havin control over ur postin. Band will also increase ur chances, though they wil not tel u there plainly, but 4rm wot I observed 90% of us dat joine band, was posted 2 town.

for OBS, its done on 1st come 1st serve basis. they have presenters nd technicians, u will pass 2ru a small test if u want 2 b a presenter, but 4 technicians, its jst purely 1st come, 1st serve. usually, on the 1st day or at most 2nd day after camp resumes, OBS admission, bcomes closed. so if u want 2 join them, immediately u enter camp nd secure a hostel nd probably a matrass, jst luk 4 their studio or hse, nd register ur name.
for band, u dnt hav 2 knw music or anytin, lyk me, I am a member of the band, nd d 1st tym I touched a drum was in camp. during ur swearing in, u'll see d pple playin d band for d swearing in(they re serving coppers), after d swearing in, jst go over 2 where they re stayin nd tel them u want 2 join d band, nd dats it. u can join anytym u want durin d 1st nd 2nd week, but u may not b able join in d last wk cos it may now b now too late, it all depends on the band cds of the state u re in, am talkin 4rm d perspective of abj.

It depends on where u re serving. You dont expect some1 serving in abj nd spends 400 on transport evriday he goes to work, thats 2k a week (assumin u dnt go anywhere durin d weekend) nd 8k a month on jst transportation b4 u talk of any other tin, to save as much as 10k a month? u can save more money or low money dependin on where u re posted nd ur ppa.

obs=Outside Broadcasting Studio. Its lyk the camp's radio station. their loud speakers will be mounted everywhere and announcements and morning alarm will be done through them. Joining them will mke u lyk untouchable in camp, wen soldiers re driving pple to parade nd u jst say that u re a member of the OBS nd show ur ID, they will leave u.
Band on the other hand is the NYSC Martial Band, they re the ones that will be playing d drums for the parade, so they dnt join the parade or drills or anything, cos u can use the xcuse dat u have band practice.
After Camp, Band is a CDS group on its own nd most of them re posted to town, but OBS, is not a CDS, it end in camp, though u get to meet many nysc officials if u re in obs nd active thereby influencing ur posting.
U can join both of them if u want. Double immunity

I forgot to add, I think that right now, Abj is the only place you can go and assured 90% of avoiding teaching.

The best thing for you to do for yourself in camp, is to join NYSC Band. It will serve you well both in camp and outside camp. you can also join OBS, it will serve you well in camp, but that one ends in camp. Good posting lies in the powers of NYSC Officials not soldiers. Take this from a Batch B 2012 Abj copper.

U can do it with only php nd html, nd if u want 2 test it on ur system, then u will b needing wamp software. If u dnt knw anytin abt web programming, then I guess u shld start lukin 4 widgets in d internet, lyk fcbk widget or better still, u can start learning how 2 program

U cannot xpect pple 2 serve in rural places nd afta 1yr, they wil spend d nxt 5yrs of their life searching 4 job. If 9geria is serious abt d service, they shld also hav a scheme where coppers dat passed out will enroll nd they will be sent 2 diff org nd parastatals 4 job interviews nd some, given scholarship 2 study abroad, without dat provision, I dnt see any justification of d new rule. For those sayin dat it is gud so dat evr1 will hav equal playing ground afta service, I'm sori 2 say, but dat arguement is largely flawed.
