That's part of it but do we really have to rely on the sincerity and honesty of the people we do business with when we can rely on the ability to hold them accountable instead? If you go for an agent, e.g a well known company with public image (don't want to mention any particular brand because it will seem I'm advertising for them), you can hold them accountable if they fail to install certain items or carry out certain parts of the agreement, but you'll never find yourself being completely homeless at the end of the day.
In as much as I love my parents or siblings, I'll never give them money directly to build for me. I can pay them to supervise, but not hand over my money to them. Someone like my mom can tell you later that she transferred half of the money to her Pastor for him to pray for my success instead

A state that doesn't generate a billion yet you hear citizens claiming that the governor stole billions of dollars. Even if he stole everything the state made in a year,it wouldn't be up to $2bn. How many states have a budget of $2bn except Lagos, Abuja and maybe Kano. So let's say the government steals 100% of everything all to himself,he won't accumulate billions of dollars.

If you want to understand what corruption looks like, check the grant America gave Ukraine for war. Over $300bn is not accounted for

So what's your reasoning here, the state resources are too small for politicians to embezzle so it doesn't matter? A big shot like that could not at least hire an agent to build house for him, instead he trusted his family. Let's say there's nothing wrong with that. How about at least coming around once in a while to inspect this so called property they're building for him? South Africa to Lagos is just about 6hrs flight, he couldn't make that once every few years to see what was going on? And what documents did they send him for the land they bought, did he get an independent person to verify the documents?
Trusting family blindly can be most times worse than trusting a total stranger.

I think you're confusing the principle that anyone can come to the father through Jesus Christ with the belief that anyone can worship God from wherever religion they are.
