Politics / Re: Reno Omokiri: Throwback to when Prof Soyinka was released from prison — Biafra by xbitttt(m): 9:18am On Apr 10, 2023
Reno is a very useless man... he is lying just to just to win cheap popularity

Wole Soyinka was not arrested for supporting Biafra.

Soyinka was arrested in 1967 for his involvement in the "Third Force," a group of intellectuals and activists who sought to provide an alternative to the military dictatorship of General Yakubu Gowon. He was held in solitary confinement for 22 months without trial and was eventually released in 1969 after the Biafran War had ended.

Politics / Re: Oba Is Right, APC Can Make Life Unbearable For Igbos In Lagos - Okorocha by xbitttt(m): 10:03am On Apr 09, 2015
DTaj:

My perspective on this Oba Akiolu saga is this:

Can an Igbo man try this nonsense in Kano, Sokoto, Minna, Dutse, Kaduna? Never!

I have Igbo and Yoruba friends who grew up in Sabon-Gari in these northern states; they can never aspire to be local government councilor let alone get voted as Federal House of Reps members as Igbos have just done in Lagos in 2015 elections 2 weeks ago!

Can Igbos try this nonsense talk about 'Lagos is no man's land' in the North? Can Igbos ever claim ‘Kaduna is no man’s land’, despite its very cosmopolitan status like Lagos?

I don't blame them- I blame Tinubu for opening up Lagos to them! When you sart appointing an Igbo man as Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, why won't his brothers start dragging ownership of the state with original owners?

Can the Igbos ever vote the Hausas who have been living in Asaba, Onitsha, or Aba since the 19th century? Never!

Igbos are dishing out what they can never take from other people in their own states!!!

Truth be told. Oba Akiolu messed up big time and should never have made the hate speech but Igbos shouldn't extend their luck too far!

I insist- Lagos is the most accommodating state in the entire country! It is only in Lagos that one sees Commissioners and Special Advisers of very critical ministries being occupied by non-indigenes! I'm Yoruba; in my state, no other Yoruba man from another state can even aspire to be local council councilor let alone get elected as a House of Reps member as have been done in Lagos! Someone will mention the history of how the person's fore-fathers migrated to the state! The entire Lekki property axis is dominated by Igbos! Igbo developers constitute over 80% of developers in Lekki corridor...What do Igbos want again from Lagos indigenes?

This entitlement mentality from our Igbo brothers and sisters is becoming irritating. Can a Yoruba man have this huge leverage in any state in the South-East? I know a lot of Yoruba people who grew up in Onitsha and Aba. Some of them have only visited their Yoruba states twice in their lifetimes (some as old as 50-60 years ); yet they are 2nd-class citizens in those Igbo cities! Yet, Igbos come to Yoruba land and poke their noses at their host communities.
PDP is playing with fire just for political expediency. No one knows when this fire that is raging will stop! I hope PDP will not cry foul when this fire they have started catches up with them in any of the states they control in the South-West in the future! This is in context with the stupid comments from Obanikoro (a Lagos Island man) and Ogunlewe, who also insulted the Oba of Lagos!

This is becoming a mob action! The amount of insult hurled on the Lagos Royal Stool, no matter the provocation, is way too much! No sane Igbo can ever do that to Emir of Kano, or Sultan of Sokoto! He/she would have been roasted alive!

Getting irritating...
Can your oba Who is garrulous monarch gibber against the hausas?........he knows what the hausa herds men are capable of doing.....lagos is what it is today because it was a one time federal capital....so just like Abuja it was a "no man's land" so what......and for the record the hausas in Ebonyi state came out in mass to reveal the candidate they'll vote for in ebonyi....have they not involved in the politics of ebonyi?.....who killed them for that?...... Clear conscience fears no accusation.....the yorubas hate the igbos and they think the igbos feel the same way which underscore their fears in voting for their choice in onitsha, aba or whatever south eastern state they find themselves.......the igbos refuse to be ill treated and bet me they won't take it lying down......if you or thiefnibu or the narrow minded monarch can, let them drive the igbos and see what will happen.......my conscience is clean. I still love you no matter how pathetic and foolish you sound.

Thanks for vomiting the bitterness you all have for the Igbos, it's good because it would choked you to death.

For your information, Yorubas don't dash out lands to Igbos, igbos buy land and build. The ladipo you boast about is heavily taxed that Igbos would has been better of if they bought the land to do their business which I know they can. However because o much tax and constant harassment by touts Igbos started moving to trade fair complex which is under the federal government & where they can have peace of mind. Other markets are all planning to move down to trade fair just because if the greed of your godfather tinubu. So asserting that Lagos did this or did that for the Igbos as if it was not paid for and still being paid for is totally wrong and cynically divisive of you. As we speak today, the popular Mandillas market have moved to trade fair complex, they now pay their tax direct to federal government. As we speak an Igbo man is cones ting for a governorship position in Kaduna state under APGA, so stop the rants. If we all continue to think they way you think then we are never going to be united. If you can have 1million Yorubas in Aba, that is enough to win them a rep seat in Aba under APC and nobody will do anything, but the fact remains that you people don't like leaving your Yoruba land and it's sad because you learn little or nothing about other tribes. My sister bought a house in Ago palace for 30 million and for her to do a total renovation she had to go and pay 4 million to the Oba and omonile, now what do you call that? Even to roof a house in Lagos or deck your building to add another floor you'll have to pay between 200,000 to 300,000 & what do you call that? Please let's stop all this divisive behavior as if Lagos is giving out free money to the Igbos. Let's try more to preach unity, you can't do anything to Igbo in Lagos, this is Nigeria if you try it you'll have yourself to blame. Enough said.
Well said........I've never seen any ethnic group that is as tribalistic as the yorubas.......in most companies where the yorubas are at the helm of affairs, they make life difficult for the igbos there....no yoruba man would ever want the igbo man to thrive, yet they talk about being kind and good to the igbos.....they can tell that to the trees

I'm so disappointed.......the greatest enemies of the igbos are igbos.......Rochas has totally degraded the pride of every sane igbo man......shame on him......a man that doesn't know his sister is his in-law is a fool......for Rochas to applaud that imbelic anti-igbo speech of that Oba shows he doesn't have the interest of the igbo nation at heart......how would you encourage gross verbal assault against your own people ( he would also support physical assault on them as well) if you don't have love for your people you shouldn't rule them.......shame on you Rochas

LOL Of course nothing will happen to them, don't be silly. The Oba has made a point that is all, and the point is he hates your guts and can't wait for an opportunity to get rid of you. I think he spoke the mind of most Yoruba grin grin grin grin
Where do you think the APC alliance is headed ? It is to make it easy to negotiate Oduduwa Republic if things break down at the center. You guys will only be left to do your usual exodus of the jews of Africa back to your undeveloped states. SMH
Yorubas are not only cowards but also habitual noise makers.....too much of oily soup must have corroded the brain of that oba just as it has done to yours......the igbos don't give two Bleep whether you hate them or not hence their business is booming......after all lagos is what it is as a result of being a one time federal capital......I've never seen any people as foul mouthed as the yorubas........the fools of nigeria

LOL. What do you think "kabiyesi" means in Yoruba? It means the one whose decision cannot be questioned. Why do you think Obas, are called "second only to God?". You see, that is why you need to learn the language of a country before they can make you a citizen. You igbo people refused to learn and only want to continue with your primitive ways and expect host community to accept you like that or go to hell. Anyway in our culture an Oba will rather drink poison than suffer the shame of apologising. So the earlier you let that sink in the better for you I think.

I hear say Oba want drown Ibo inside lagoon. I want the contract. Outsource the job to me. How many of them he want me to sacrifice to Olokun.

Chei! See life! Eni ta a ba ta ka fi ra atupa to ni oun eni a ji tan'na wo! If no be Christianity and Islam wey overtake Yorubaland, na Ibo be choice for human sacrifice. Throw their ezes and their red caps into this lagoon, nothing go happen, heaven will not fall. International community go make noise for two months and then pack their case under rug to go face better priority where humans are getting killed in Maiduguri.

You can vote who you want, no doubt, his loss will become your loss, if he wins, his victory will become your calamity in Lagos. Yanmiri bastards!
Your father must have had a profound influence on you, for he was a lunatic......if the igbos are minority in lagos....then kill an igbo man and see what happens........during the time of Abiola the oba of lagos tried it......didn't the yorubas beg coz of the massacre and genocide of the yorubas in the hands of the igbos there in lagos......seems they've failed to learn their lesson, this would be a very good opportunity to effect that.......yorubas are cowards.......ofe.mm.anu.

its too bad. I will never insult my IBO brothers (except that one time I said they have flat heads
o and those other times I said they are mostly criminals)[/size]

You must be a tribalistic bigot ......"the have been". The illiterate couldn't differentiate btw 'the' and 'they'......"Stooling and drinking in"......another imbecilic expression.....it is 'drinking from' and not "drinking in"........the igbos you insult got more intelligence in their d.I..ck than you have in your head........yorubas are only good for noise making......let that ape looking oba try it and see what will befall his people........mtcheeew

xbitttt, your chances are quite slim. From statistics, 294 students applied for psychology while 1341 students applied for economics this year. About 600 might have written the putme, which leaves about 105 scoring pretty good in the test. I don't knw how many students will be admitted in this department. You can do the remaining maths. Psychology is still a good course though.
buh I thought they r selling supplementary forms for economics .....meaning more space 2 b filled ryt?

I think I saw economics as one of the courses available for supplementing. Economics involves much calculation.

However, the questions are, does it belong in the same faculty as psychology? Are your jamb subjects and o'level subjects suitable for economics?

I think you should bare them before we can think of ways to switch.
psychology and economics belong to the same faculty(social science) and yes, I do have d right o'level combinations to study econs, buh I don't know my chances if I want to switch

switch to what exactly? If you intend to base in Nigeria. Indeed psychologists don't get that which they want unless they further their degrees in a related but better career.

What do you want to switch to?
economics...do u know d possibility

I love the psychologists I watch in movies. Especially when summoned to question a suspected murderer. Psychologists are intelligent, smart, sharp detectives. They ask critical questions that leave one stuttering/unstable.
