This was in 2009. I was looking up the B5 RS4 and stumbled on this thread. Its 2015 and I'm seriously, seriously considering the B5 RS4. |
There's a Benz thread somewhere here. Also there's a whatsapp group for benz. Find it. They will help you. |
Guys post your number here if you want to get added to the whatsapp group and expand your knowledge, get tips, repair guidelines and more information about your Audis. |
Guys...its time to pass out... |
Kashif:Who wants a 300+ hp FWD anyway? |
sultaan:The concept is the surprise on people's faces when the 'old small car' leaves dust for a range rover at a traffic green light. People will already expect a big nice car to be fast. |
And has a timing chain to last the longevity of the cars life but the timing has low quality guides and tensioners and thats not the problem. The chain is behind the engine block so when those guides and tensioners go, its a lot of labor and cost to fix. |
Siena:I thought new A6 and A4 models were only available with FSI engines. Now I understand why KA24DETT has the 4.2L V8 A6 and eromspete the 2.0L A4. One learns everyday ![]() The Audi A6 (C6 family, 2004-2011) has the following non FSI petrol engines: 2.4L V6 with 175 hp 3.0L V6 with 218 hp 4.2L V8 with 330 hp The Audi A4 (B7 family, 2004–2008) has the following non FSI petrol engines: 1.6L I4 with 101 bhp 1.8L I4 with 161 bhp (Turbocharged) 2.0L I4 with 128 bhp No non FSI V6s or V8s for the A4 and thats just feels sad to me. All the engines of the B8 A4 models (2008–present) and C7 A6 models (2011-present) break the bank and are probably FSI except the hybrid models. Culled from wikipedia. |
eromspete:The issues look like a lot. But labour here is cheap if one knows exactly what meeds to be done. I found a few articles that analyses the expectant issues. http://karmakanix.com/knowledgebase/engines/gas-engines-vw-audi/2-0t-engine-tfsi-fsi-audi-vw/ http://www.carworklog.com/2011/09/10/common-issues-tips-and-tricks-for-the-2-0t-fsi-bpy-engine/ So your engine is naturally aspirated. I'm sure there'd be more powerful euro models too. V6s and V8s. |
jemype:Confirm what the badge is at the rear. 320 or 323? |
Siena:Nice. Please iNvite me I could help invite other people too. |
jonnyp:You can get enough information about the car on the internet. Research first then people can help with whatever you do not understand. |
eromspete:Well noted. You're not power hungry are you? By the way, FSI engines are becoming scarier to me. Carbon build up, now cam follower issues? |
jemype:Its got automatic transmission. Im looking for a manual Tranny. |
Is that a quatro badge under the 3.0 label at the back? So its a quattro (all wheel drive)? |
Would be nice to have a well moderated Audi Whatsapp group with well behaved members like the BMW owners do. I don't know if siena will be open to this idea but without you in the group, it wouldn't hold much water to be honest. I don't mind being the host or 'inviter' if thats where the stress lies. |
eromspete:Did you say consider selling? Is your 2.0L engine turbocharged? Is fuel injection stratified? (FSI) How much would you want to sell it? |
Tadeus:Hi, 1.8 for 06/07 330i? What does 'delivery to Lagos' entail? |
2.2... No navigation |
PresidentT:Pass on the offer because? |
Quote for Toyota corolla 08,09,10 please including original complete papers? |
Can i get a quote for 1. 2005 A6 4.2L V8 Quattro 2. 2004 BMW 330i |
But you don't have to dismount the engine Or replace any parts right? Lol they'll do it here for 150$ or less. Except at a standard auto shop though. I've come to understand when to go to a standard workshop and when to go to a roadside mechanic. KA24DETT: |
I think doing that carbon cleanup will cost a lot less here though. KA24DETT: |
Maybe thats why i see a lot of audi V6s at my mechanics workshop with some engine issue. I need to use at least a V6 next, but I'll run into this issue more frequently because i do a lot of miles per week. And that 4.2L V8? Well...the cost will be on the high side. And the 4.2L V8 FSI doesn't have that problem? Interesting. Do you use your car in Nigeria? KA24DETT: |
Carbon cleaning? I didn't know about that. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/336352-Audi-FSI-Engine-Carbon-Build-up-Megathread But it seems to be with all FSI engines. KA24DETT: |
Siena:Bruh! Thats some serious drifting. I've been trying to 'minidrift' on my FWD A6 lol, since its going out of my hands soon. Safely of course. Heavy car. Always oversteering. But I'll just get this cheap toks 316i someone just put up for sale nearby for my adrenaline needs and cop a B6 A6 later. I just don't know a 1549cc naturally aspirated engine would feel to me behind the steering. |
samir101ng:Nice car. Only thing i didn't like was the lack of rear AC vents. I understand the ones under the front seats would do anyway. In this clime if you park outdoor for an hour and get back into your car you need your face cooled asap. Im still torn between the A6 and the A4 anyway. |
Very nice car you got. I intend to uograde my C5 A6 to this C6 family soon. I was going to go for the biggest turbocharged 4 cylinder, but recently i got smoked by a v6 accord and Avalon. Their acceleration was frustrating. (4 cylinder because relative ease of repairs, but then why be scared of repairs if im power hungry? Why expect expensive repairs anyway with proper maintenance and a good buy). Mind made up on a V6 already. Swapped out e brake button? Like you changed the lever to a button? Or why did you change it? KA24DETT: |
if i was to tow a manual transmission quattro with all wheels down but in neutral, would it cause any problems? I understand towing for long distance may cause problems because heat may build up in the transmission. But say intervals of 10km at a time. |
Im contemplating getting this toks '01 316i someone just put up two streets away. I want to move over to BMW, but im thinking i need a headstart with some experience first. Im a power hungry driver and I know the 1.6L engine will leave me yearning for more power but i think i need an introduction before going for what i really want - an 06 330xi if thats available. Or i could just upgrade to a higher family of currently owned Audi A6. |
