@Siena, I've been a secret admirer for years and your posts here helps me alot. i run a 98 A6 2.8 quattro, 237k mileage, with no major complains but now I need original parts e.g, Valve cover gasket sets, OE stabilizer linkages.
Also, I NEED A STEP BY STEP GUIDE ON HOW TO SERVICE MY TRANNY. I'm a DIY freak ...I don't pay mechanics, I've done my throttle/valve body engine vacuum hose maintenance and so many other ...but I think the tranny is fragile.

My current car is Mercedes Benz C320 (2003) I love it, its V6, supercharged (12plugs)

I love the A7/A8 but its too big and long, can you recommend an Audi/year that you feel can feel like the c240/230..i need to make a decision fast…

The person buying for me is currently in germany…waiting for my decision or do you think, i should stick with benz…i might be willing to go up to 2007 for ant one you recommend.

Ps, my benz electrician said parts are the issue…i use my benz everyday and its an everyday car i want.

I have an i4 '98 Audi A6.
Was on my way to Asaba from Benin sometime last year when this 07 V6 Accord came by, gave the normal stare down and zoomed off. You know what comes next. I chased and chased, and met him at about 170/180...he got there long before me of course.
However once there's a cluster of cars and trucks I always emerge first from it. We eventually got to Asaba at the same time. Literally side by side. He gestured a hat-off salute and went his way while I went mine.

His car was faster,accelerates quicker but despite mine being many years older and due to the speed limitation as a result of the nature of the road he didn't prove the point he wanted to when he initially gave me that look.

Basically, any car can get to 180. If you're racing on the highway, it boils down to the drivers' skill and ability to make those skilled overtakings a mere mortal wouldn't dare and would cringe and hold the interior door handle tightly if they were in your front passenger seat.

Its not racing if you're just stepping on something and holding a steering on a straight line.


Anyway, I'm breaking up with my Audi for an E46 soon. I can't wait.

Please if there are any BMW fanatics, users and mechanics in Benin, I would appreciate such acquaintancE.

It has low ground clearance alright. I think its the X5 that has same engine as the e46 but I'm not too sure.

I usually get bigger tyres and rims for any car I own. 17" rims and tyres should do enough lifting for it.

You know, this your advice is ringing like a bell in my ear now as i try to decide what to get for personal use and an eventual everyday run around.
My first choice will be a 325i or a C240 4Matic. But hey, cost of maintenance? I really need to consider this.
Getting the car one off isn't where all the problem lies. But, what will it cost to keep? What will labor for a normal maintenance trip cost me? Normal parts like, shocks, CV joints, plugs, sensors and what have you, what will it cost me?

I am tempted of making a detour to the Japanese that can sustain some sort of abuse, but how can i sacrifice my craving for a German machine?

Can we have a debate on what it costs on the average to keep a compact German car? Specifically, the E46 325 or 328i?

This is my dilemma.
After using an Audi A6 for close to a year, faulty and problematic as it may be, how can I abandon this German craving for a Toyota or Honda? How?

Not only the engine. The gearbox as well. Making the demand for those particular items more expensive than they should be.

My e46 has the sport package too, with premium sound. A joy to cruise in.

I used a 1991 model 325i e36 for about 3 years before getting the e46.

By the way, I have the e46 manual somewhere on my laptop, in case anyone needs it.

How are you doing this? I currently own 98 Audi A6 i bought in Nigeria. Due to my inexperience with cars and the incompetent mechanics here, everything is sort of messed up right now.

I believe I have acquired enough experience with cars to go for another car and maintain it the way it should be maintained. No incompetent mechanics checking what they don't know anything about. Nd I want a RWD, performance inclined car.

The E46 is that car.

I just don't know how to go about procuring a full option fully functional not-a-single-fault-present one.

I have just been relocated from Kebbi to my choice location.

This is to say thank you Kebbi state, thank you Argungu and thank you fellow corps members for the opportunity.

It was the longest road distance I ever travelled. It will ever remain fresh in my memory.

That over 800KM journey really made me realise how Nigeria my country is in terms of land mass and facilities.

Well, finally the general lectures have stopped and the rest of the 21 days is to be used for introductory training in 12 vocational fields.
This should bring some ease to surviving that 5 hour period.

Some camps don't have water or electricity. This camp has both. Things are unbelievably cheap at the mami market. Things like food o!

NO ALCOHOL IN THIS CAMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!




Obviously, this camp will be enjoyed more by 2014 Batch C and the 2015 BATCH A posted to Kebbi state because by then, if construction continues after our exit, it would be complete.
