Romance / Re: The Woman I Took Advantage Of Blessed Me by xjiggy: 4:50pm On Mar 16
MaDaRa01:
Two days ago i went to a woman's shop to buy something and i took advantage of the little kid she left in the shop by paying way less than what i bought.

Thanks to the good people of nairaland with their good advice. I deciding to go clean to the woman and telling her the whole truth without hiding anything.

I went back yesterday to the woman and told her the truth, how i took advantage of the kid by paying #50 for the rice worth #1k and how i came back to pay the balance after i realize my wrong.

At first, i thought she was going to get angry at him. Instead she asked me if i have bible app on my phone which i affirmed. She quoted a verse to me and talked to me on confession of sin and forgiveness.
Seriously, since when i dey go church, no pastor sermon touched me like the little talk the woman gave me. Till now i'm still thinking about it.

I thanked her, promised never to do that again, and as i was going she told me to wait. She later gave me some rice, beans and other provision that i should take it for free and anytime i am hard on cash, i could come to her shop and get anything and pay her whenever i receive salary or when i have cash with me.

I said all the whole "Thank you, God bless you".

It was not the foodstuff that blessed my soul, but how she handled the situatiom.

May God continue to bless the woman
I thank GOD for her and.... you, go ye and sin no more

That woman is extremely rude. The guy is explaining his situation to the manager... even concerning the other ban, she's just interrupting him anyhow. Very frustrating human being.

In the east we buy ticket from nnewi to most part. There is more organization. Your pay all your dues in the loading point. No one stops the bus for main road except police.

Come to lagos you see things.

When people from south south and southeast come to lagos for the first time and the agbero on the road some will think its armed robbery.

Owo mi da-- where is my money.

You will hear
Owo chairman
Owo security
Owo turning
Owo iyawo chairman
Everuday they manufacture new reasons to collect money.
No organization or organic road transport.
Every is just raving mad
Kindly explain why all these tickets in Anambra State and who executes the collections if there's no tout there.

Whether true or not it doesn't matter. One Grammy is enough for Burna boy. Three of my best Rappers (Busta rhymes, snoop dog and DMX) have non yet Macklemore has four . Their body of work speaks for itself. It just goes to show these awards are rigged sometimes.

Don't be deceived.......APC, PDP, LP are all the same. The same politicians you see today in APC wiil be LP members tomorrow if LP wins. Atikt was once APC, Obi was once APGA and PDP. All of the problems we have has nothing to do with Party but People. We as a people are terrible. Only few Nigerians will do the right thing when needed. For years now, you cannot get mint from banks yet you see people carrying millions worth in parties for sale. No dollars in banks but Black market is booming. Ordinary POS operators are exploiting their fellow citizens. We're just terrible

Hope the discussion is about the availability of currency because there's really nothing more in circulation. Even the old notes are not available. The petty traders, okada riders and bus drivers refuse to collect and will not accept transfers for fear of fake alert. The problem with Nigeria has never been about policies but implementation of the policies. I see no reason why 100 should be scarce. It should be everywhere to help cushion the unavailability of other notes.

Sports / Mason Greenwood Attempted Rape Charges Dropped by xjiggy: 6:46pm On Feb 02
Mason Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 after the allegations emerged

Charges of attempted rape and assault have been dropped against Manchester United footballer Mason Greenwood.

The 21-year-old was arrested in January 2022 amid allegations surrounding images and videos.

He was later charged with attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The Crown Prosecution Service said the charges were discontinued after key witnesses withdrew their involvement.

A spokesman said: "We have a duty to keep cases under continuous review.

"In this case a combination of the withdrawal of key witnesses and new material that came to light meant there was no longer a realistic prospect of conviction. In these circumstances, we are under a duty to stop the case.

"We have explained our decision to all parties.

"We would always encourage any potential victims to come forward and report to police and we will prosecute wherever our legal test is met."

Within hours of the allegations surfacing at the beginning of 2022, the forward, who has made one appearance for England, was suspended from playing or training with the Old Trafford club.

In a statement, a Manchester United representative said the club noted "the decision of the Crown Prosecution Service that all charges against Mason Greenwood have been dropped".

"The club will now conduct its own process before determining next steps," they said.

"We will not make any further comment until that process is complete."

Greater Manchester Police said it was "only fair" to announce Greenwood would no longer face criminal proceedings.

Ch Supt Michaela Kerr said the decision had "not been taken lightly".

She added: "I would, however, like to use this opportunity to reiterate the force's commitment to investigating allegations of violence against women and girls and supporting those affected, regardless of their circumstances, throughout what can be a hard and upsetting time for them."

Aboki is not insult

Go ask the meaning of aboki, it's not insult
Bro, we in the south use it as a derogatory word. Yamiri, afonja, aboki are insults depending on which tribe is using it. In my state, Edo, if you call a person Adamu, it is a great insult despite it being an ordinary name in Hausa language. It all depends who's using it and in what context. In his tweet, he already used the word idiot before aboki which means he was already in insultive mode. If black call a black nigga, it's how they greet each other but if a white call a black nigga, it's racist.

I know all of them. I m a fan of the oldies.
All these actors popular movies are on Netflix. Some sef on YouTube. They are still acting. So it's no big deal that l know them.

*Dolph Lundgren. Famous for Universal Soldiers. Alongside Jean Claude van Damme
* Jean Claude van Damme. Famous for Cyborg
* Arnold Schwarzenegger. Famous for Terminator.
* Sylvester Stallone. Famous for Rambo
I think you're fond of old movies but if you're old enough you'll know the films that made them most famous.
For Stallone, you're right...... Rambo
For Dolph Lundgren..... Red scorpion
For Van Damme..... kick boxer
For Schwarzenegger..... Commando (Terminator 2 especially, blew him into the stratosphere)
It's good to see people who still watch oldies

Car Talk / Re: He Wants Advice On Buying His First Car. by xjiggy: 12:58pm On Dec 28, 2022
patwilly:
I enjoin all forum members to actively contribute
my budget is 4.5M
the choices I am looking at are these :

1. Toyota Rav 4, (2011) Nigerian used. A friend is actually convinced this is the car I should buy as it fits nicely in terms of prestige and functionality. However, I'm not fully convinced as per buying a Nigerian used car and also because I'm not really taken to the RAV4 as I see it as not a masculine car.

2. Toyota Camry 2011 or 2012 (muscle) : I like this car and if it falls within my budget I'd happily buy it. The only negative here is I've been wanting an SUV to be my first car considering Lagos roads etc so I'm not totally sold on the idea of getting this car.

3. Toyota Highlander full option (2007) Direct Belgium or Nigerian used: Now this is the car I I'm most taken to. However, Friends are of the opinion that it is an old car (being 2007) and is gradually being phased out. Also the fact the car does not exactly convey much in terms of prestige etc.

So that's it. I'd appreciate if forum members advice correctly on any of these three car models or recommend something else. Kindly highlight the merits/demerits of buying the foreign used or Nigerian used version of any car you'd recommend.

The attributes I'm looking out for are Functionality, ease of Maintenance, prestige/aesthetics of the car.

I appreciate you all.
Go for the Highlander. Don't listen to people who say it's an old car. Even the whites go for vintage cars (1967-1979). What's most important is the condition it's in.
