The questions that aspirants keep asking and already tired of answering is the question. pertaining to the departmental cut-off mark for 2015 PUTME. I will like to use this medium to inform you all, that Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike have not officially published any stipulated mark to be the cut-off for any department. I have read several articles which the Authors titled it to be the cut-off for the school. You are advised to ignore such, as those marks where all fabricated. In this Article I will be addressing some questions pertaining to Mouau Admission Process. To start with, Let’s read this article, posted by the Former webmaster of Mouau, Obioma Kelechi Anyawu on April 11, 2013… It goes thus…….. ”Basically, admission at MOUAU is based on a competitive quota system". What does that mean? This simply means that during the admission process, each dept/course is allocated a certain number of student slots within the total admission quota for the entire University and these slots are competitively allocated. So assuming the University has about 2,000 slots approved by NUC for a particular session, this number is divided between the Depts/courses. Soil Science, Botany, Agronomy may be given less than 50 slots each, while the more competitive Agribusiness, Microbiology, Comp Eng, Comp Science, may be given about 150 slots each. And other depts/courses in order of size and competitiveness. During the selection process, all the students who applied for each of these courses are listed according to the scores they have, in descending order. Then selection is made based on the quota allocated for that dept/course for that year. Therefore if after sorting the names a candidates name falls as the 88th person in order of score for a particular program that was allocated 50 slots, obviously such a candidate will not be admitted. Typically, applications received for the programs mentioned earlier ranges around these figures during Post-UTME, Soil Science – less than 20, Botany – about 100, Agronomy – less than 10, while Agribusiness – about 1,300, Microbiology –almost 1,000, Comp Eng – about 900, Comp Science- over 1,000, etc. These are typical figures. Let me add Civil Engr – about 300-400. With the explanation above and the figures shown here, you will discover that a candidate who was not offered admission in Comp Eng, will find another candidate with the same score, being offered admission to read Civil Engr. This is because the competition is less heated there. Equally a candidate who was not offered admission to read Biochemistry, will find out that the scores of several of those admitted to read Botany/Zoology are much lower than his/hers. And when this happens such a candidate will start complaining and claiming that he/she was denied admission as a result of corruption and bribery, obviously not understanding the way the system works. I can categorically tell you that the merit admissions at MOUAU are processed 100% on merit. After the merit admissions, then comes the supplementary admissions. But many of our prospective students do not know that supplementary admission is not automatic. You need to indicate interest and apply for it. If you don’t apply for Supplementary Admission at the right time, the result is that a candidate who scored lower than you, but who indicated interest and applied through the proper channels will be admitted and you still find yourself without admission and probably complaining. This has been a long post, I just hope there are few mistakes and that it is easy to understand, otherwise feel free to ask further questions. Frequently Asked Questions 1. WHAT DOES SUPPLEMENTARY LIST MEANS. I will answer this with an article; “After the regular merit admissions lists have been announced and published, successful aspirants are expected to pay the required acceptance fee within a specified time. At the end of the period, the admissions unit, takes stock of the spaces that have not been filled or taken up by paying the required acceptance fee. When the time is right, the University then calls for applications from candidates who have not yet been admitted and who wish to be offered admission. The announcement usually comes with guidelines on how aspirants can apply and the particular courses/departments that are open for applications. To read full article, click http://primebaze.com/forum2_theme_112058931.xhtml?tema=32 Sometimes the guidelines will include the average scores that may be eligible to apply for each course/department. From experience, this admission list tends to generate the longest list and largest number of aspirants being granted admission. The time frame given to receive applications is usually a very small window of time, this makes it imperative that aspirants who may wish to apply need to put their documents together in order to reduce their reaction time to the call for supplementary admission applications. You have all heard of it from the Horse’s mouth, its best not to delay when the supplementary forms are released. Wish you all the best. 2. WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF GETTING ADMISSION WITH MY AVERAGE ? The higher your average, the better your chances of getting admission. Continue Reading by clicking the source source http://primebaze.com/forum2_theme_112058931.xhtml?tema=32 |

https://gist212.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Sexy-Man-188x300.jpg But whether you like it or not, Hairy guys, turns out that a lot of women prefer them, especially men with facial hair. But why do hairy men attract more women? 1. They have higher levels of testosterone When men have higher levels of testosterone, they are more likely to have a higher s*x drive, live longer, are more confident and honest, and have more energy and optimism. 2. They’re intelligent Dr. Aikarakudy Alias, a psychiatrist who’s been working on the relationship between body hair and intelligence says that hairy chests are more likely to be found amongst doctors, as well as the highly educated, in the general population. 3. They are healthier Hairy men are better able to detect parasites on their body. In a study by researcher Michael Siva-Jothy they found that hungry bugs placed on shaved arms were more likely to feed, compared with those on an unshaved arm, as the hair slows down the bug and alerts the victim. Females may perceive hair as a marker for parasite-free health. Hairy guys can keep you warm at night, won’t judge you if you decide to grow your hair out, and are super masculine. Our primate ancestors certainly liked their men hairy. Maybe they were on to something. Source: http://primebaze.com/forum2_theme_112058929.xhtml?tema=18 |

It was learnt that Elechi, his son, and some state government officials who served under him, are being interrogated in connection with a multi-million naira asphalt project awarded to 13 local government councils in the state. The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed to our correspondent on the telephone on Thursday that the former governor was interrogated by operatives of the anti-graft agency. He said “It is true that he was quizzed by the operatives of the commission.” Elechi was invited to the EFCC’s headquarters to face a team of operatives on Monday and Tuesday last week. He was said to have faced the panel of investigators from the Economic Governance Unit of the EFCC for two days at the commission’s headquarters. It was gathered that the former governor was not detained by the commission but was asked to go on self-recognition. The source said, “The former governor of Ebonyi State was at the commission on Monday and Tuesday to answer questions on some contracts awarded to 13 local government areas of the state. “Throughout last week, he was put on standby while the case of a former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, and his sons, was taken to court. While MTN generated over N5bn for the Nigerian musical artistes who sell their contents as caller tunes on its platform, Globacom is said to have brought in about N4bn. The money generated for the industry was in form of royalties paid to music artistes who served or are still serving as brand ambassadors to the two telecoms companies in the year. The Glo music ambassadors, whose contracts were recently renewed, are Nigeria’s leading music stars, Peter and Paul Okoye (PSquare), Oladapo Oyebanjo (D’Banj), Chinedu Okoli (Flavour), Jude Abaga (M. I.), Oluwatobi Ojosipe (Wande Coal), Omawumi Megbele, Bez Idakula, Burna Ogulu (Burna Boy), Ego Ogbaro and Sammie Okposo. Globacom also signed on hip hop sensation, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, after he terminated his contract with MTN. It also signed on the Mavin crew of Koredo Bello, Reekado Banks and Hadizah Blell (Di’ja). However, the leader of the Mavin Group, Michael Ajereh (Don Jazzy) leads other music artistes on the MTN network. He is joined by Tiwa Savage, Sidney Esiri (Dr. Sid), Olanrewaju Fasasi (Sound Sultan), Iyanya Mbuk, Chidinma Ekile, Bankole Williams (Banky W), Kingsley Okonkwo (KCee) and David Adeleke(Davido). MTN also recently signed on the visually impaired music artiste and producer, Cobhams Asuquo. Our correspondent obtained the figures from the telecommunications companies on Wednesday, and plans to announce an on-demand music service. An employee in the Corporate Affairs Division of Globacom, who pleaded anonymity, said that apart from paying “about N4bn in form of royalties to Glo music ambassadors, Glo have plans to lead the music streaming business in the future, which the valuation is estimated to be about $ 8.5bn (N1.7tn).” He said Globacom’s interest in the music streaming business might be due to the decline in digital download business, adding, “The streaming business is projected to grow at almost 40 percent annually and will probably be over $2bn (N393bn) business in 2016.” It was gathered that the new and rising stream of revenue for the telecoms firms might have accounted for the recent scramble for top music artistes in the country by both Globacom and MTN. While MTN declined to renew the contracts of some of its music brand ambassadors last month, Globacom quickly poached them with higher bids. However, aside the over N5bn generated for the music industry, MTN said the brand ambassadorship, appearances and performances fees made for the artistes amounted to over N500m. “MTN has invested more than N1bn in talent discovery and development through the Project Fame sponsorship platform,” the company’s General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Miss Funmi Onajide, said. “The recent rebasing of the country’s Gross Domestic Product puts the contributions of the entertainment/music sector at $7bn (N1.4tn) of the total value of $510bn (N100.4tn). This represents 3.7 per cent contributions to the total GDP growth,” she added. According to her, MTN’s leadership contribution in the sector has impacted positively on the lives of Nigerian creative talents. SOURCE: http://primebaze.com/forum2_theme_112058901.xhtml?tema=7 |

The bureau, in a report on the telecoms sector, a copy of which was made available to our correspondent, stated that the sector had recorded a significant growth from 2.27 million subscribers in 2002, when the first mobile licence was issued, to 143.05 million at the end of the first quarter of this year. Out of the four Global System of Mobile providers, MTN dominated with 61.21 million subscribers or 42.84 percent of the total. Globacom, with 30.03 million subscribers or 21 per cent of the total followed; while Airtel, with a subscriber base of 28.6 million or 20.4 per cent; and Etisalat, with 22.3 million or 15.69 per cent, followed in that order. https://punch.cdn.ng/wp-content/uploads/2015/02/Stephen-Keshi.jpg Stephen Keshi Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has insisted that he did not apply for the vacant Ivory Coast coaching job. The former Nigeria captain appeared before the Nigeria Football Federation Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday in Abuja to defend himself against claims he applied for another job while having a two-year contract with the NFF. The Fédération Ivoirienne de Football had named Keshi as 20th on a list of 59 coaches that applied to replace Herve Renard as coach of the Elephants. He was also criticised for including a non-league player in the squad that beat Chad 2-0 in their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Kaduna on June 13. “Like you guys know, I never applied for the Ivory Coast job,” Keshi was quoted as saying by Goal on Tuesday. “My name is everywhere. It happens to every coach. So it is not a big deal. My name is always everywhere. The question is that should I take Ethiopia to court? Should I take Kenya or Tanzania to court (for including my name in their lists)?” Keshi said he was not aware goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama and midfielder Ogenyi Onazi were invited by the committee. Both players face disciplinary actions following their behaviour in the game against Chad. Onazi was given a red card while the NFF frowned upon Enyeama’s comment on the security situation in Kaduna. Keshi urged Nigerians to focus on Nigeria’s next 2017 Africa Cup of Nations game against Tanzania. He said, “We thank God for the victory against Chad. Now, I think what we should be thinking of is how prepared we are to face and win our away match against Tanzania. That should be our mission right now, not what the media are saying about Keshi. “We need to go ahead and forge a formidable team, which includes the press, the players and the NFF so that we can conquer the world and conquer Africa. My focus right now is to prepare for the game against Tanzania.” SOURCE: http://primebaze.com |

The lady, identified as Ene, allegedly died when the Naval rating attached to Abuja Environmental Protection Board, opened fire on innocent civilians while trying to enforce the demolition of a building. According to eye witnesses, the lady was hit by a stray bullet from the officer's gun and if not for people around, the culprits would have made good their escape but they were pursued and made to take the lady to the hospital but by the time they got back to the scene, the lady had given up the ghost. The Navy command was informed of the act by one of its men and they promised to take care of the burial expenses and also compensate the family but according to sources within the family, the Navy only came up with N200,000 and after Ene's burial, they have been foot-dragging which is making the family plan to seek redress.
